Finnaly think I got my team straight

Well here it is Frosty gimme your best shot :P.

Umbreon @ [spdef or def + / spatk or atk -]
252 hp 129 def 129 spdef
mean look
baton pass
moonlight
confuse ray

Almost the standard, but it lacks an attack move.

Alakazaam @ [ spd + / atk -]
252 spd 252 spatk 6 hp
trick
psychic
i punch
t punch

Standard trickbander. Basically to stop all annoyers, blissey/miltank, wobba, and some tanks. Ice punch because I hate dragons and they are so overused. Thunderpunch because there is water water everywhere!

Arcanine @ [spatk + / def or spdef -]
252 atk 252 spatk 6 spd
aerial ace
extremspeed
flamethrower
crunch

Dual Sweeper. I can make this work >:D. Lacks speed, but combine with umbreon's mean look and baton pass combo I get to pick and choose who my arcanine will destroy.

Miltank @ Leftovers [spd + / spatk -]
252 hp 129 spdef 129 def
body slam
thunder wave
milk drink
heal bell

Why miltank? I hate blissey. I'll probably switch body slap with seismic toss.

Kingdra @ [spd + / sp atk -]
252 spd 252 atk
Dragon Dance
Return
Dragon Breath
Toxic

Not standard, but it floats my boat. Physical sweeper.

Vileplume @ [spd + / def -]
enough spd evs to get 200 spd and split the rest in atk and sp atk
Sunny Day
Sludge Bomb
Solarbeam
Synthesis

Another Dual Sweeper. Obviously sunny day is the key to this pokemon's success.

Alternates

Wobbuffet @ [spdef + / atk, spatk, or spd -]
252 hp 129 def 129 spdef
encore
safeguard
counter
mirror coat

The standard. I got spdef + b/c everyone loves special sweepers.

Lol too tired to put down the rest of my alternates, but I will put em down tomorrow. My basic strategy is to mean baton pass into the right situation. If things get messy with status conditions, then miltank comes in. I know I have no electric, fighting or water moves, but I don't think that will be a problem. My problem is that I lack a hazer/psuedohazer. I will be working hard on trying to fix that. I guess i'll mention 3 of my alternates. Forretress and Shedninja. Shedinja is the standard build and forretress is a spiker/rapid spinner and I have a special sweeper kingdra as an alternate too.

Mew9 July 3rd, 2004 9:24 AM

um................ wat is that Umbreon passing on w/ baton pass? Unless baton pass passes on Mean Lokk, it useless. It should hav Double Team, swords dance, or something if it is baton passing (though i don't think Umbreon can learn em). Take off baton pass for an attack move. Never really understood that whole Trickbander Zam thing. If ur Arcanine lacks speed, then y give it Aerial Ace? IT already has Extreemespeed. I'm not a big heal bell fan, but if u want to keep it u can. yeah, switch body slam w/ sciemsic toss. If Kingdra is a physical sweeper, then y r u givin it dragon moves? Dragon is special. My policy if to critize first, then rate. I would use Kingdra as a Special sweeper, bcause physical would be hard to pull off. If ur gonna pull of Sunny Day/Solarbeam, u better hav some defense or some pretty good speed.

[email protected]? (i'm not good @ items) [sp. def + / speed -] Umbreon makes OK staller:
Mean Look
Moonlight
Confuse Ray/Toxic
Return/Shadow Ball

Like i said, don't get Trickbander Zam.

Arcanine [Sp. Att + / def -? ]
Flamethrower/ Overheat
ES
Crunch
Double Team? (even a good sweeper can hav good speed)

Already commented on Miltank

Kingdra (sp. sweeper) [sp. att + / att - ]
Surf
Dragon Breath
Toxic
Ice Beam

Vileplume seems fine, i guess. I'll let some1 else handle that.

Wobbuffet [sp. def + / speed -]
moveset fine

Frostweaver July 3rd, 2004 10:41 AM

that Umbreon does pass mean look, but for this team I doubt if that's very useful. It's not like it's passing to Alakazam who's going to spend the time to calm mind up too... hmm...

Umbreon- (same stat setup) @ leftovers
-REST
-mean look
-confuse ray
-screench

even more standard than yours, which is actually not a standard. Rest to remove deadly evil toxic.

Alakazam- [speed + / atk -] @ choice band
EV: sp.atk and speed
-trick
-psychic
-ice punch
-thunderpunch

Actually, trick is so fun on zam and it does work. My first team has one of those before zam became a subber XD Trick banding zam pwns the eons badly, and especially blissey. Blissey always come out against zam if they have a blissey. So why not trick band that freak? Blissey with band is as good as half dead, becuase it can no longer seismic toss/toxic/ice beam/thunderwave you and heal at the same time.

Arcanine- [sp.atk + / atk -] @ leftovers/lum berry
EV: sp.atk, speed, hp and etc
-flamethrower
-crunch
-extremespeed
-HP Special

Use extremespeed against reversal/flail abusers only... Arcanine is so difficult to mix sweep x_x;

Miltank- [def or sp.def + / atk -] @ leftovers
EV: defensive
-thunderwave (evil)
-seismic toss
-heal bell
-milk drink

Blissey moveset on a cow's body, but evilness rating is reduced by 3 times as much (no more godly sp.def with 700 hp to screw around with!)

Kingdra- [speed or attack + / sp.atk -] @ leftovers/lum
EV: attack and speed
-surf
-dragon dance
-return
-HP Fighting

I'll still keep surf on Kingdra even if sp.atk is poo really. and you'll NEED that hp fight8ing for the heavy heavy T-tar weakness in your team.

Vileplume- [speed + / def or sp.def -] @ lum berry
EV: speed to get 200 which most likely requires max speed along with speed bonus, and sp.atk more than atk
-solarbeam
-sunny day
-HP Fire
-sludgebomb/sleep powder

Eggy moveset in a flower's body instead of a coconut tree.

Wobby- decrease speed instead of you can even be slower than some slowest Pokemon... Wobby needs to strike last with encore!

Kairi July 3rd, 2004 12:53 PM

Vileplume is fast enough without a speed boosting personality to top out the 394’ers like Aerodactyl in the sun. ^_^;

Mew9 July 3rd, 2004 2:34 PM

probably [sp. att + / def or att -] then

Frostweaver July 3rd, 2004 4:48 PM

errr... is it just me or isn't 399 Aerodactyl's max speed along with Crobat and Jolt? O.o; which equates to "I'm still slower than Aerodactyl and friends!" which means "Please aerial ace me, then blast me apart with Jolt's HP Ice and finally finish me off with sludgebomb!" >>?

Kairi July 3rd, 2004 4:50 PM

Aerodactyl, Crobat, Jolteon, and Mewtwo’s speed is 394 maxed.

Frosty edit: *sigh* and proves that I've been wrong and remainded wrong for half a year...

Mana Lugia July 3rd, 2004 7:16 PM

Vileplume's max speed: 199 without boost, at max EVs and neutral personality.

IMHO, not worth it to spend 252 EVs on it just so it can outrace an Aerodactyl =/

omega17 July 4th, 2004 12:04 AM

hmm looks like I'll scrap my kingdra for the moment. Since you say Umbreon is not good for this team, I'll use a ninjask instead to pass the speed to my mighty Arcanine. To deal with my T tar weakness, I have these 2 pokemon in mind.
Machamp @ Scopelens [spd +/ spatk -]
252 spd 252 atk 4 hp
cross chop
earthquake
bulk up/rock slide/return
bulk up/rock slide/return

or shall I go with my Heracross

Heracross @ the berry that raises atk [atk+ / spd -]
252 hp 252 atk 4 spd
brick break
megahorn
counter
rock slide

Not standard at all. Some might call this build downright stupid. But I like to be different and believe in it. Plus it has a 31 atk iv and nothing below 20 in ivs, and it happened to have a brave nature. This could be **** for my opponent if I use ninjask and BP SD and its speed.

What type of team would a mean look/BP umbreon fit well in?

Frostweaver July 4th, 2004 6:40 PM

Well it's not like Vileplume can use its EV that well if you're planning to sweep... I'll throw it all in speed and sp.atk with modest... and killing those darned flying beasts are very well worth it, and Jolts too. There's pretty much one of them or more in every team.

Heracross first since it's easier:
-counter doesn't work out well here because Heracross has a low defense (lower than sp.def) and I'm not sure if it can survive that many physical attacks... but it is definitely worth a shot at.
-don't rely on ninjask *too much* because most people already have great experiences in how to deal with the most common SD baton passer

@ Machamp:
lol Machamp is a Pokemon I'll throw on counter because it can still survive STAB aerial aces as long as Machamp starts off with full hp. Another possibility is getting light screen.

omega17 July 5th, 2004 11:25 PM

Ok I have made some changes to my team a bit.

Alakazaam - same as above
Miltank - same as above
Vileplume - will probably stay the same, but if by chance my IVs yield an hp fire ill use that instead of synthesis

Arcanine @ [sp atk +/ atk -]
252 spd 252 sp atk
roar
flamethrower
crunch
extremespeed

just a special sweeper this time around

Machamp @ scope lens [atk +/ sp atk -]
252 spd 252 atk
cross chop
earthquake
rock slide
light screen

I liked that light screen suggestion frosty :D

Crobat @ [spd + / sp atk -]
252 spd 252 atk
Haze
Sludge Bomb
Shadow Ball
Aerial Ace

My team needed a hazer badly.

New comments will be appreciated :D.

Frostweaver July 6th, 2004 11:31 AM

and roar is haze... it's ok to rely on roar alone. Crobat is quite a terrible hazer. I'll dump haze for confuse ray or HP Physical.

A minor note, but the max a category can have is 252 EV. If you have 2 categories full with 252, you still have 4 points of EV to invest ;p (and since every stat counts in a NB game, this will matter!)

Mana Lugia July 7th, 2004 7:29 AM

You know what I just realized?

Machamp @ Choice band :)

Anyways, Frosty: WW > Roar :)

Frostweaver July 7th, 2004 12:50 PM

lol... yes I know WW can't be blocked by soundproof. But sadly/luckily not that much Pokemon have soundproof... only Exploud who's worth receiving baton passes.

Mana Lugia July 7th, 2004 3:05 PM

yeah, but if you can get WW, eg: skarm, get WW over roar, unless you really like Drill peck.

Frostweaver July 7th, 2004 4:01 PM

How about let's just not use that flying devil to begin with?

Plus people have to use roar if they want spike... I am almost certain that that's the thing stopping that metal evil from getting whirlwind

Mana Lugia July 7th, 2004 7:59 PM

no, Skarm gets Spikes via Level, WW via breeding. You can have both
