Hmm guys i am here now to help you on the EV`s and how to have them at the maximum by lvl 25...

And thats just simple math, to have the stat you want max at lvl 25 then 63 points is more than enough because it wont have more effect other than that max (so thats 15 extra points to a stat you want)

As you see i always say everything as clearer and shorter as possible but anyways a lot of questions will pop up so enjoy while i can (gtg work in about 30-40 minutes) :3

They do somewhat. Think about it. You get 10 from each vitamin, equaling +2 to a stat (because 8/4=2). How often do you see the change the vitamin causes increase by 2? Only once in a while (like every three I think) which means all the EVs aren't being put in right then and there. On the second vitamin if that happened, it'd go up three. (8/4=2+1=3, if you don't know how I got this, just ask)

EDIT: Does that trick really work? (The boxing one) I've never heard it before, but probably because it doesn't really matter because most people play level 100 battles.

EDIT2: Ok, I got my team together. Not the best, but since this is the place to post teams for rating:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Diglett@Choice Scarf
Jolly~252 Speed/Attack; 4 HP
Earthquake
Stealth Rock
Aerial Ace
Sucker Punch

~Physical Sweeper (yes I stole Diglett. xD)

Stealth rock with Choice scarf = fail use the Stone edge TM.

Porygon@Choice Specs
Modest~252 Special Attack/HP; 4 Speed
Tri Attack
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Shadow Ball

~Special Sweeper

Its not classified as a sweeper if it isn't fast enough its more of a special tank I suppose. But good.

Onix@Leftovers
Impish~252 Defense/HP; 4 Attack
Stone Edge
Earthquake
Rest
Sleep Talk

~Physical Wall

Mantyke@Leftovers
Bold~252 Special Defense/HP; 4 Special Attack
Surf
Aerial Ace
Hidden Power [Ground]
Aqua Ring

~Special Wall (Amazing special defense stat ^^)

Somehow I don't see a physical move working out to great on this guy but I don't know any other moves for it maybe Ice beam?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I need help with the EV spread because of what shedinjask has been saying.

Changes in bold.

This sounds fun. Its like a test to see if you can properly train pokemon at any level.

Before i forget to mention some of the things in the rules, don't start planning your teams so deeply (this goes to you Sabaku no Gaara :P) because we are banning some items that will just be ridiculous to have in such low lvl battles (talking about the Choice items and some more) because if you where able to use ANY item then you could sweep most of a player`s team with just one pokemon (That Digglet got the creeps outta me xD) Mmm leftover`s are still in, just put it to all the pokes and hope for the best with the team.

ultranerd57 December 21st, 2007 9:52 AM

I got a team for this as well:

[email protected] choice band
EVs: 252atk/ 100hp/ 156spd
Hasty
-Aerial Ace
-Return
-Pursuit
-U-turn

Hp is to survive at least one hit and lol at my opponent.

[email protected] leftovers
EVs: 252hp/ 100spdef/156def
Adamant
-Return
-Wish
-Curse
-Toxic

Special Wall

[email protected] choice scarf
EVs: 252spd/ 252spatk/ 6hp
Modest
-Extrasensory
-Grass Knot
-Hidden Power Ground
-Charge beam

Special sweeper

[email protected] leftovers
EVs: 252hp/ 160def/ 96spdef
Relaxed
-Avalanche
-Leech seed
-Seed Bomb
-Swords Dance/ Return/ Toxic/ Grasswhistle

Can't decide on last move for him.

What about life orb and expert belt?

El Gofre December 21st, 2007 9:56 AM

Nice idea ultranerd, but we might be banning choice items as they bring their respective stat way higher than a lvl 25 could realistically hit.

Special sweeper/ Tank

This is not a tank. This is a full fledged special sweeper. There is no defensive strategy here, only offense. A tank can take hits; this can't with that EV spread.

I just thought I should point that out.

El Gofre December 21st, 2007 10:05 AM

Like We've said, its in the early stages and we're looking throught for items and moves which could be potentially all-powerful. We dont want people concentrating on a single 'all powerful' poke, its aimed at theme and fun.

I said special tank because it has a Base spdef of 80 so it can take a couple of special attacks.

That doesn't matter. You gave no EVs to HP, Defense, or Special Defense, and all four of your Spoink's moves are attacks. That makes it a special sweeper, regardless of whether it can take a hit.

Ok its a sweeper that can take sp attacks I'll change it.

Yeah, I wasn't thinking too much when I made my team. xD (about the Stealth Rock/Choice Band. Stupid idea, sorry. xD Mantykes Aerial Ace will be switched out. Don't know what to put in though because I don't think it could learn Air Slash. Only thing that would get flying STAB would be hidden power, but I'm getting Grass HP. As for Porygon, I'm thinking of switching him out for a faster special sweeper. I noticed his speed sucked, just was getting lazy though. xD

As for the items, I understand it would overpower them, so I guess I'll just go with Leftovers unless one of the other items is allowed that people have mentioned. (i.e. Expert Belt) Life orb is almost the same as any choice item, just it takes from your health to attack.

Hey guys theres something i want to know, how can i know what element my HP is? every time i teach it to any pokemon it just says that its a normal atk, how come??

Shiraishi December 21st, 2007 10:29 AM

Thats because GameFreak is stupid. Hidden Power (HP) should be a '???' type move like Curse is. It can be any type and it's power an be between 30-70. It depends on your IVs.

For Mantyke the only other special attacks I found were Signal beam and Ice beam.

Hidden Power Calculator then write it down or memorize it.

.Aero December 21st, 2007 10:32 AM

Hidden Power Read this, it explains everything. (Sorry if linking to serebii is against the rules. XP)

As for my special sweeper, I'll use Ghastly instead. High speed and special attack. ^^

Ghastly@Leftovers
Timid~252 Special Attack/Speed; 4 HP
Hypnosis
Shadow Ball
Psychic
Energy Ball

Now that I have a grass type move on one of my pokemon, it opens up that Hidden Power slot on Mantyke for HP flying. ^^

If it learns it you might want to replace Psychic with Focus Blast and use Wide lens instead because low accuracy will aggrivate you to no end.

Anti December 21st, 2007 10:39 AM

Seriously, I SO called diglett, I was being serious >:0

But anyways, is this tourney over Shoddy or what? Because I don't have WiFi and I don't want to bug people calling trapinch and diglett if I can't participate.

.Aero December 21st, 2007 10:42 AM

It doesn't learn Focus Blast. (xD Just noticed I spelled Gastly wrong. XP) So there is no need for a Wide Lense. Plus that goes on my Nocty. xD Hypnosis will do fine. Plus I won't use it as much as I do with my Nocty (that's always its first attack. xD)

What is the point of calling a pokemon? Does that automatically make it impossible for other people to have it? If you feel that way, fine I'll change him out. xD

~desu Saba~

El Gofre December 21st, 2007 10:42 AM

Its likely to be over wifi, so sorry. But it doesnt matter if people calla poke, more than one person can use it.

Aw crap ignore my team then as I can no longer participate but I'll gladly help people still.

El Gofre December 21st, 2007 10:46 AM

ok thanx ultra, and like i said im just guessin its on wifi,I dont know how shoddy works. This might be the incentive i need to get it.

We should have a full team criteria in place soon, just workin out the hax list :)

Anti December 21st, 2007 10:48 AM

I just meant that no matter who else used it/them, I could have them on my team :P I should have clarified that, my apologies.

But really, could we have one over Shoddy for those who can't get a DS or who just have shoddy for some other reason?

El Gofre December 21st, 2007 10:50 AM

Not up to me, its unit101's game. Im just his humble partner :)

.Aero December 21st, 2007 10:52 AM

The only problem is some of us don't have Shoddy (such as me) and I don't think it's free (in the sense of money because I went to site and was completely confused on what it was saying.) So I guess we could battle over Shoddy, but I don't see how it would work if the final includes a Shoddy only battler and a game only battler.

I was looking for a new physical sweeper, and the only thing I could find was Sneasel, which I don't want to use. xD So I'm glad to hear that I can use it.
