Only avaliable through special events?

What in the world does that mean? You can't get Mew, or several other legendaries, without a special event?

I looked on Pokemon.com....with no luck. Maybe I just didn't look in the right place...

Anyway, can anyone explain to me what that means? What do you have to do to get these special events?

Thanks!

The special events thing means that you need to go to a Nintendo event having Mystery Gift enabled to receive tickets (like eon Ticket, Old Sea Chart, etc) to go to an island to capture the special event Pokemon. The best game to use for Mystery gift is Emerald, due to it's ability to go to Faraway Island, where Mew is. The Pokemon Center in NYC has events where you can get Pokemon like Celibi, Jirachi, which there's not an island or somewhere in 3rd Gen to get it. I have no idea where a schedule for the event would be... but that's what I know...

But what is a Nintendo event? It's IN the game?
Sorry for my most-likely stupid questions. lol.

No it's unfortunately not in the game. You have to go in REAL to a Nintendo event.
Sometimes toys 'r us has such events... But these are pretty rare.

Oh, goodness. XD
Do you have to have a special event to get Latias *crosses fingers*?

No, you don't. Latias is catchable in-game without any special event or anything. (Though you do have to run into it.)

Also, I forget which game (Ruby or Sapphire) has which, but if you have the one that doesn't have Latias then you can get it via Eon Ticket, which I guess could be considered an event.. (yeah?)

Emerald has both, though. You just gotta choose which one you want after you beat the Elite 4. You go to your house and watch something on TV, and your mom is like "What color was that? I missed it!" and whatever color you answer with results in either Latios or Latias. @[email protected] (Of course, you have to run into it, it runs around Hoenn randomly.)

Oh, thank goodness. lol. I do have Emerald. :)

and If you only have either Ruby or Saphhire as well, just pick the Red one (if you have Ruby) or the blue one (if you have Sapphire)
