Galaxy!
Starmie is one of my favorite water types, so I've decided to raise one. Well, here are my plans:
[email protected]???***Luma Trait:Natural Cure Nature:??? Ice Beam Thunderbolt Surf Rapid Spid EV:??? Well, I'd like to use it as a spinner, but...what do you think is best? I don't have the energy to raise it for max SPD IV's, so I probably won't use it for straight-up offense. |
Quote:
Starmie @ Leftovers Trait: Natural Cure EVs: 172 HP / 216 Spd / 120 SAtk Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Surf - Thunderbolt - Rapid Spin - Recover Stalls the crap out of stuff and hits with speed and power. |
No Ice Beam? I feel so...exposed.
|
With Ice Beam, bulky waters would laugh at you, without Ice Beam, it's mainly Swampert who gets to laugh.
|
go with Choice Scarf revenge killer? or Choice Specs to get rid of the ghosts trying to block your rapid spin.
Scarf - Thunderbolt (Gyara), Ice Beam (Garchomp), Surf ( STAB), Rapid Spin / HP Fight (revenge killing Weavile lol) / Thunder Wave (further team support, and people usually don't expect this from Starmie). On Specs definitely Rapin Spin in 4th slot. |
Bulky Star
[email protected] Timid Nature 120 SP.ATT / 216 SPEED / 172 HP Trait: natural Cure - ice Beam / Thunderbolt - Surf - Recover - Rapid Spin This is primarily a spinner and should not be attempted to sweep with, dont let its base 100 sp.at and the sp.attacker aura therefore associated with it fool you. Base 85 defenses allow it to be incredibly bulky, it ALWAYS survives a Jolly Weaviles unboosted non crit Night Slash. Thunderbolt or Ice Beam for what your team fears more, Gyarados/ Waters or Garchomp/Dragons/. This set needs 31 ivs in speed to be effective, so you can outrun Gengar and other Idiots. Or theres this beast. [email protected] / Wise Glasses Timid Nature 252 SP.ATT / 216 SPEED / 40 HP Trait: Natural Cure - Ice Beam - Surf - Thunderbolt - Rapid Spin This is what i call the compromise star, its a spinner and a sweeper. Rapid Spin is here if you need it Along with bolt beam and surf. You may want to just want to adjust the speed evs to its Ivs, this is with 31 ivs which gives it 352 speed enough to outrun Gengar. Ive used this for a couple of battles and it does its intended job well. Specs Star is this as i know you already have "Comet" for spinning. [email protected] Specs Modest Nature Trait: Natural Cure 252 SPEED / 252 SP.ATT / 6 HP - Grass Knot / Psychic - Thunderbolt - Surf / Hydro Pump - Ice Beam It needs as much power as possible on this set as its job is primarily a sweeper and you cant afford not to get the extra power, thats why modest is preferred here instead of Timid and so T-Tar etc. doesnt lol at you, Modest guarantees a ohko on ALL FORMS OF T-Tar with Surf and Hydro pump, which timid fails to do. Grass Knot is for heavy crap and swampert etc. Psychic wrecks Heracross and Gengar etc. Bolt beam and surf are your other moves for coverage. Hydro Pump is tempting as it is capable of doing around 35% to 252 hp / 252 def standard bold blissey. You can slap a Choice Scarf on Modest aswell like Syaoran said, ive seen an increase of those on starmie lately on shoddy, it lols at weavile when it outspeeeds it. |
Ehh...my favorite set is the premere bulky Garchomp/Gyara counter fold-up:
Starmie @ Leftovers / Life Orb Trait: Natural Cure Timid nature(+Spd -Atk) EVs: 172HP / 120SpAtk / 216Spd - Recover - Thunderbolt - Surf - Ice Beam This bastard fill so many roles, it's not even funny. I started a trend on this Starmie set at some other forums. |
Starmie @ Choice Specs
Trait: Natural Cure Nature: Timid EVs: 252 SAttack / 252 Speed / 4 HP - Surf / Hydro Pump - Icebeam - Thunderbolt - Grass Knot / Psychic / Rapid Spin |
Choice Specs Rapid Spin. Lmao.
I use 220 Speed on my Starmie then laugh when people keep their Starmie in vs mine. |
Specs rapid spin works if you don't go crazy spinning. You have to be careful though.
Modest works on specsstarmie too to further increase its power, though being a speed freak, I prefer timid :P |
