Advice: Filling Roles

I’ve never been able to competitively battle before, although I’ve always tried to build teams as if I were.
I’d really like a team which I could use for the Battle Tower as well as multiplayer battling. I tend to not worry too much about roles when it comes to my E4 team, since I always seem to easily sweep the floor with pure good strategy and sensible movesets, but the Battle Tower and WiFi battling aren’t quite in the same league.

My problem is basically that I can’t make up my mind as to which Pokemon I want to fill the roles I need to fill. I‘m aware of the possibilities, but all I see are the problems with the potential Pokemon.

I have a solid Physical Sweeper and a good Staller, but aside from that I have no clue what I really want to use, especially when it comes to a bulky water pokemon.

My choices would be (as in, I have these Pokemon currently and wouldn't need to breed for them - not fully EV trained):

Slowbro:

Calm @ Leftovers
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: Not EV trained yet

Not the best nature, unfortunately. I'm also a bit worried by the Choice Band and type weaknesses.

Manaphy:

Timid @ Salac Berry
Ability: Hydration
EVS: 252 HP

Not sure of a moveset yet, I'd go for something a bit unpredictable that allows Manaphy to fulfill the bulky role, preferably featuring Heart Swap. (Edit: Obviously not for standard play!)

Milotic:

Bold @ Leftovers
Ability: Marvel Scale
EVS: 252 Def/50 SpDef

Milotic would probably be my last choice (just because of being a bit predictable these days), though I like it for in-game play.

Blastoise:

Calm @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVS: 252 Def/252 SpDef

An old favourite, I love him as a bulky water Poke.

The second problem is with Special Sweepers. I’m semi-against them, as so many seem to be frail and can’t take a hit, but it seems like I really need one. I’m not at all sure what the best 4th gen choices are, since my past choice was usually Alakazam and it’s no longer really one of the better choices. If my Manaphy had the right nature, I'd consider it in this role.

My last problem is a Baton Passer. I feel like for non-in-game play, this is a basic necessity. However, since I’ve never felt the need to use one for the actual in-game battles, I’ve never considered the possibilities before. What are the good 4th gen Baton Passers?

So, suggestions, anyone? Feel free to suggest any kind of Pokemon, as I have filled the National Pokedex. I’m happy to take suggestions for Uber, OU and UU, since I’d ultimately like teams in all three. Currently, the ones I use are generally considered UU or borderline UU/OU.

EDIT: I've read several role guides, but I'd like some different opinions and a bit more detail than the guides get into. Also, if I must post movepools, I will, but I'd rather not since I don't want help with them and haven't got them quite figured out for competitive play yet.

Manaphy ish uberz

I would go with Milotic since it has the best Nature.

Err umm...

Special Sweepers ... Porygon-Z is my favorite since it outruns many with Choice Scarf. Sweepers aren't supposed to take a hit, all they need is good offenses and speed.

Ninjask is a great Baton Passer. Unless you have a Trick Room Team O_O

The best i would say is Blastoise with its good nature.

I have ready the post. Sorry, I really didn't feel that it fell into either the suggest a team or rate a team categories - I don't want my team rated, I don't need moveset suggestions, and I just wanted opinions on which Pokemon were best for the roles I'd mentioned, which I felt was just asking for help fixing the holes in my team.

I also didn't really want to mention what I already have (I have most roles filled), simply for the purpose of not showing my hand to people I might eventually battle. When I wanted an opinion on Pokemon I already had, I mentioned the nature, item (granted, I forgot Slowbro's ability since they all only have one choice besides him) and species since I didn't want advice for a good moveset, and I won't finalise the movesets until I have the whole team together to ensure they're all complimentary anyway.

I didn't want to add a bunch of unnecessary information or give away the team I already have, but I definitely had read the post and I'm sorry if it's apparently not up to scratch. I'll attempt to fix it.
