I finally found out why n00bs suck so much

It's becauae they buy books like The Official Pokemon Battle Revolution Strategy Guide. Seriously I found that book in Best buy selling for 1 penny so I bought it and started looking through it and their movesets are terrible. These are some of them:

Articuno
-Powder snow
-Sheer cold
-Blizzard
-Ice beam

Wailord
-Bounce
-Dive
-Water spout
-Hydro pump

Electrivire
-Thunder
-Quick attack
-Discharge
-Giga Impact

I'm not going any farther because my eyes are starting to bleed again but you get the point the only thing good about this book is that I thought of two strategies while reading it.
Here's the first one:

[email protected] Salac berry
Trait: No guard
EVs: 252hp/ 160spd/ 98atk
Adamant
-Dynamic punch
-Ice punch
-Thunder punch
-Earthquake

[email protected] leftovers
Trait: Magnet pull
EVs: 252hp/160spdef/ 98def
Relaxed
-Thunder wave
-Zap cannon
-HP Fire
-Magnet rise

Machamps No Guard ability lets Zap cannon and Dynamic punch hit 100% and I thought of sending them out at the beginning of the battle Magnezone wouldn't need to trap anything so I edited that out for Levitate so it could dodge Earthquake.

Here's teh second one:

[email protected] Salac berry
Trait: Gluttony
EVs:108 HP/ 252 Atk/4 Spdef/144spd
Adamant
-Belly drum
-Extremespeed
-Pursuit
-Sub/ Rest/ Return

[email protected] Life orb/ Focus sash
EVs:252 Atk/ 4 hp/ 252 Spe
Adamant
-Psych up
-Psycho cut
-Focus punch
-Ice punch

I think I made them fast enough to work but this is the strateg

Dark Azelf December 28th, 2007 10:06 AM

Magnezone doesnt have levitate lol

Its ability's are Sturdy and Magnet Pull.

Put magnet rise on it if you want to dodge earthquake.

ultranerd57 December 28th, 2007 10:07 AM

Sorry about the crammed words I put spaces in between them but it didn't show up I'm fixing it now.

[email protected] Salac berry
Trait: Gluttony
EVs:108 HP/ 252 Atk/4 Spdef/144spd
Adamant
-Belly drum
-Extremespeed
-Shadow claw
-Rest 0_0 Kinda like Bellyzard, which I possess no comment about. Anyway, what's the point of Shadow Claw? Quite frankly, there's no point in utilizing it. Its too fragile, and not a Wall, to be using Rest, now Isn't it? It can't really go that route. Also, run Sub to activate Salac Berry. Consider Pursuit for the attack. I just don't like the idea of Shadow Claw, to be honest.

[email protected] Life orb/ Focus sash
EVs:252 Atk/ 4 hp/ 252 Spe
Adamant
-Psych up
-Psycho cut
-Brick break
-Ice punch 00bercham, eh? Kidding. Are you sure you don't want Hi Jump Kick over Brick Break? Focus Sash if you absolutely have to have Psych Up. You may want Life Orb, it all comes down to person preference, but Focus Sash is my suggestion for you.

I think I made them fast enough to work but this is the strategy. Linnone uses Belly drum cutting his health and activating the berry thanks to Gluttony then Medicham uses Psych up to get a max atk boost without harming him then they could both sweep out even physical walls.

My comments on your strategy in bold.

I don't need sub to activate it because of Gluttony but Pursuit is fine. I might throw in sub if more people think its needed. And I don't like the accuracy of High jump kick.

._. Hi Juck Kick has 90 Accuracy. Isn't that enough?

Usually it would be good but with the fact you hurt yourself when you miss it just pisses me off.

._. With 90 Accuracy, it will occur as a hit, most of the time, my friend. x.x

Except whenever I use it it misses and I get hit. The last time I ran a Medicham with Hi jump kick it missed three times in a row and I died. It's just my bad luck what makes it happen so I don't use it.

Hmm, I guess, Focus Punch is there if you're for accuracy and prediction. Doesn't involve getting hit by running into something, and bad luck. x.x Personal Preference, but I guess Hi Jump Kick Isn't the best now. HJK has lost Its touch. Sad, but true.

Anti December 28th, 2007 11:29 AM

Brick Break or Hi Jump Kick, I don't care. I prefer BB for accuracy, but really, it's personal preference.

I'm surprised people don't use focus punch on it anymore. It makes a fool out of almost all physical wall switch-ins. It's great for setting up walls to be defeated. lol, one time a skarm tried to roost expecting a switch and focus punch said hi for the OHKO.

It's a shame it lost physical shadow ball, ANOTHER thing D/P ruined :(

Though hi jump kick is no with focus sash...if you miss, sash becomes useless.

So, the debate is whether to use Brick Break, Focus Punch, or Hi Jump Kick? My vote goes to... [/Drum Roll] Focus Punch.

flamehaze94 December 28th, 2007 11:57 AM

Yeah, Medicham got smurfed up from the D/P transition...(are we talking about that?)

Brick Break is not even an option. Heracross Close Combat hits harder than BB. Medicham will only hit harder than Cross with HJK.

My vote goes to Hi Jump Kick.

shedinjask December 28th, 2007 12:02 PM

HJK or Focus Punch.

It needs Close Combat. >O

I think he meant gamefreak needed to give it Close Combat.

Oh. Yeah, I rushed, so I didn't understand what he meant. :O

I actually like both focus punch and BB on medicham. sure they're the same type, but c'mon, they serve totally different purposes.

Either way, you should only be buying guides for these games if you fail at story mode or need the locations of things. That's it, as the pokedex is outclassed by Smogon and even better than that, Shoddy. Sheer cold and powder snow...ouch.

Arcknight316 December 28th, 2007 3:25 PM

Wow, those movesets are so scary that it's not even funny. 0_o

They're so scary, that you and I will have nightmares about them, won't we? But yeah, they should really just stop making these books, whoever they are.

The only reason I got it is because it was 1 cent. But now we know why noobs are terrible battlers.

Going to go for Focus punch on Medicham.

Shiraishi December 28th, 2007 8:05 PM

I say Hi-Jump Kick :/ You have the Elemental Punches to land dents in walls >.>

What I find really odd is that the Pkmn Colluseum guide had CB-Mence in it..

ABYAY December 29th, 2007 12:06 AM

There's one thing that nobody has taken note of with Magz and Champ; No Guard does NOT affect your partner in a double battle; only Machamp and its target and vice versa. I tried this in a double battle with Machamp and Whiscash; Whiscash had Fissure when I was nowhere near what I am today, and my Fissure kept missing. I soon learned that a bulky flier with Defog + Fissure can work well.

On Medicham... that's a hard one between BB and Jump kick. If you're running Psych Up, then Brick Break is the much safer option. I mean...you already get the boost from Huge Power, and you can get 400% more attack... that's 500%, or if it works the other way around, 800%. That means that if it were to take 5 Brick Breaks to kill something, it's now 1, or if it takes 8, it's now 1 if 800%. Running Hi Jump Kick seems outta the question here.

Now if you were running Medicham normally, then most likely the Jump Kick. Oh yeah, those movesets made my head explode... good thing I ordered a 2nd brain for the occasion, but it blew up too.

Rukario1 December 29th, 2007 5:09 AM

Lol , if Medicham had CC it will be over kill
