Introducing Choice Scarf Mence.

Salamence @ Choice Scarf ** I rape children
Trait: Intimidate
EV's: 252 SPD / 252 ATK / 6 SATK
Lonely Nature (+ATK, -DEF)
- Hydr0 Pump
- Drac0 Meteor
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge. [/Cough cough high power moves for a reason cough cough] Well.. Nothing to say really.. Comments, perhaps?

Angelic Diablo December 28th, 2007 3:36 PM

EVs are way too wrong to be a mixed attacker...

Plus a sped up Mence causes less fear than powered Mence (Band and Specs varieties) even DDMence has an edge on this thing be being able to switch moves.

Also Bronzong and Claydol laugh and end you with Ice Beam

Claydol takes around 79.13% - 93.48% damage, enough for a 2HKO. Bronzong doesn't carry IB, does it? Even then, do you think I should run Fire Blast over Draco Meteor?

I'd say over Hydro Pump if anything, you need a strong STAB attack as only steels resist the Dragon attacks...

[email protected] Scarf
Naive Nature
EVs: 166 Spd, 180 Atk, 164 Sp Atk
-Draco Meteor
-Fire Blast
-Earthquake/Stone Edge
-Dragon Claw

Back up STAB as well maybe, still seems way to novelty to pull off

Samson December 28th, 2007 3:50 PM

replace draco meteor for dragon claw. without specs, you shouldn't be running draco meteor w/o +Sp Atk nature and special atk evs.

166 Isn't divisible by 4. :/ Well, I'll try it out.

Yeah I know that it's not divisible by 4, but those 2 extra EVs have to be somewhere don't they lol

If you run a Choice Scarf Mence I'd choose special or physical attacks and run with them, otherwise none of your attacks are really going to do much.

For the record, that nickname isn't funny. At all.

EDIT: If this is Itachi...dude, you were banned for a reason.

He challenged me in shoddy today and was bragging about how he made Scarfmence. @[email protected]

Probably got that from when my ScarfGross OHKOed that Suicune of his with explosion. Really, Scarfmence isn't that good if it's mixed. and Itachi, ley off the ":/" smilies.

shouldn't he be gone anyways? Oh well...

But seriously, once the opponent discovers this is outspeeding stuff it shouldn't be, they will know it's choice scarf, which will also let them know that it would lack power of Specs and CB sets and the foe could capitalize or even use Mence as a set-up fodder.

All I really see this doing is dishing out a fairly weak hit and running, not much else. there are fart better scarfers to use. I've actually seen this set a bit though, I've used an all-physical version myself. It wasn't very good to be honest.

EDIT: there really need sto be an explanation of how this set works anyways, just giving it to us isn't very useful/helpful.

well with mence, i don't think it's the fact that it needs to hit hard enough when it is running with scarf. one move should at least be hitting hard, while others are designed to take out speedy opponents (earthquake, stone edge, and brick break being the three that do this).

Assuming Dragon Claw is the big damage move, similar to what HP Flying was to CBmence in ADV...

I've just never liked Scarf Salamence, never really worked for me like other sets have. And we have ScarfChomp anyways, but thta's just me :P

Rukario1 December 29th, 2007 5:13 AM

Scarf Chomp use Outrage as the killer move while i don see any attack that is good on a scarf mence?
