What's the best pokemon? And combo?

Dani_X March 26th, 2008 3:09 AM

There is no best pokemon, lol. If you count with ubers, maybe Mewtwo or Deoxys-A.

Combo : Magnezone + Weavile, Tangrowth + Heatran, Jirachi + Salamence, Gyarados + Electivire

Sure their is, u just dont want me to knowQ

El Gofre March 26th, 2008 3:15 AM

No, she just wasnt using the pokemon that are banned (Which ive already explained to you). Even with ubers there is no "best" pokemon, they all have their own strengths and weaknesses.

Please reiterate your post, I do not understand.

El Gofre March 26th, 2008 3:27 AM

She was telling the truth, there is no best pokemon. Every pokemon has their owns good and bad points, and even banned ubers have their problems. Basically Every pokemon can be killed by something else, there is nothing that comes close to being the best.

Better?

It could be, but less so, I liek the post. How were mine?

Don't know if this has been asked before (and I apologise if it has, it's just I don't feel like reading 34 pages, lol) but I need some clarification on rules surrounding hold items.

I was always under the impression that every Pokemon in the team should be holding a different item, but I've noticed that pretty much all the teams I've come across have more than one Leftovers being used (the most common example). Is this OK? Or does this rule still exist? I'm sure I remember in areas of the actual Pokemon games (like Battle Tower) it was even an in-game rule so it seems strange that this is not enforced outside.

It does depend on whether or not the Battlers are playing among the Item Clause or not (ie. No repeat items are allowed, Black Sludge and Leftovers count as two different items, even though they do the same thing for poison types). However, the Item Clause is not always used, which is why you see repeat Leftovers on many teams.

i thought that black sludge healed 1/8 of the pokemon's hp whereas the leftys heal 1/16 of the hp

You may be right, however they certainly both heal for poison types.

A¡ra March 26th, 2008 4:01 PM

what would be a good EV spread for an impish skarmory, with the attacks: roost, fly, spikes, and wirlwind?

skfdmsfm,dv fdgkfd,gbroflcopterwtfbbq

Fly ???

Drill Peck , Brave Bird or hell even Aerial Ace would be better than Fly =/

252 HP / 16 ATT / 200 DEF / 40 SP.DEF

252 HP / 60 ATT / 196 DEF

Those are the two ive had most success with this gen..

^lol copter lol :P I sense a hidden message...lol

Also I was just kind of wondering this...when building teams, what pokemon are YOU ALWAYS sure you counter? For example, I stress being able to take out Garchomp, Infernape, Gyarados, and Salamence. you?

sims796 March 27th, 2008 10:11 AM

SpecsMence, although that has turned into more of a "caution". Now, it is Tyranitar, who always causes me grief. But I have to remember that Sceptile, Gyarados, and Forretress can deal with it, with some creative teamwork.

T-tar, Electivire, heracross, Breloom, Weavile, Lucario, Gallade, Dragonite, Machamp, Togekiss, Kingdr, Gengar and all of your list

IMO, all of those, if you play them wrongly, they cost you the match so you have to have a viable counter for them.

@Sims, Life Orb Mixtar ftw lol XD

You can burn in the dephts of Hades, you MixTar using bastard!

I fear Heracross less than what I used to now. I used to get so freaked out when he came. Now that I'm used to using Gya, he's not so tough. Weavile really isn't a problem, but I hate it when he takes out Grumpig. Vire is walled by Grumpig, at least this new Special-Oriented Vire. Togekiss gets played by Magic Coat...as do Heatran, who should be on that list. Am I hitting below the belt? No, unless I mention Metal Sound. Whoops, just said it :P

I REALLY hate Porygon Z.

I think you may hate Porygon-2 aswell =X.It was like

Quote:

Gyarados : lol im gonna intimidate you

Porygon 2 : Yeah, well im gonna trace intimidate and intimidate your ass right back and shove a Discharge up it and paralyze you !!

Ok and wall break Heatran Taunt/Metal Sound or Explosion/Fire Blast/Earth Power or Hidden power [ice/Electric/Grass]

Those are Nasty and can be tailored to beat certain threats, shuts most walls down with taunt and its plethora of resistances.

EDIT : At least they are nasty untill some people start using Magic Coat Grumpigs >=[

EDIT 2 : I was thinking of using Nidoqueen in OU, yes OU lol

Looking at its Stats and typing, i was thinking it would make a great heracross and Lucario counter. Im thinking something along the lines of

[email protected]
252 HP / 252 DEF / 6 ATT
Impish nature
- Aerial Ace
- Earthquake
- Toxic Spikes / Stealth Rock
- Roar

What do j00 think ?

I wish it still got Lovely Kiss like it did in GSC lol

luke March 27th, 2008 4:27 PM

Hey, you're stealing my Heracross counter. >:[ That's what I run, and I can say from my experience it works pretty well.

Oh goody, as long as i know it works XD Im thinking of basing a stall team around it. Lack of recovery move is disappointing, although i think/hope it'll cope with Wish support...

Romo_Owens March 27th, 2008 8:15 PM

Alright I need some help with IVs
I bred a ghastly and went on serebii to check its IVs and although the results are specacular, I just don't trust my luck.
Alright heres my Ghastly:

Nature: Timid
Level 1
Hp: 11
attack:4
Defense: 5
Specail Attack: 7
Special defense: 5
Speed 6
I typed this in and all my Ivs came out to be either 29 or 31. Obviously since it's level 1 it has no evs but i don't know if i punched it in wrong. Can someone do it for me themselves or explain this? If you need any other info:
It likes Sweet food
Often lost in thought

Loto March 27th, 2008 9:00 PM

Umm....when you check IV's checking at level 1 is not reliable at all. You don't have enough information as a level 1 to determine what the IV's are.

If you wanna check IV's get someone online on wifi to give you and IV battle which is a level 100 battle so the gastly becomes level 100 you can insert the stats and then check it's IV's. ;p

Actually a good answer for this, I find, would be:
There are no such things as good or best Pokemon as all have weaknesses and strengths. Dark type moves however, could own more than half of the Ubers around. Just think of all the Ubers and how many would be owned by Crunch, or Shadow Ball or something.

Anti March 27th, 2008 9:39 PM

As far as Nidoqueen goes, I've found it to be a slightly weaker Gliscor with a rock resistance and a lost ground immunity, and also a lack of instant recovery. however Toxispikes is cool. Just remember to run away from STAB Earthquakes (well, that's pretty obvious...)

The one thing with Nidoqueen is all of those weaknesses. Ew. Gyarados (bulky water style) goes very well with Nidoqueen, as it can take most hits Nidoqueen can't (especially the water and ground ones). Nidoqueen can also take Thunderbolts and Stone edges.

Yeah, you read me like a book lol

I was gonna use it in conjunction with a Rest-Talk Gyara actually XD
