One question: Should I ditch Swampy for Tenta? I lack a Rapid Spinner.

Lalapizzame April 14th, 2008 2:36 PM

If a move has 100 accuracy and you use no evasion items and moves will a 100 accuracy move always hit?

Crystal Shaymin April 14th, 2008 2:42 PM

lala, no matter how many evasion moves are used, if a moves accuracy is 100, it will always hit.

Azonic April 14th, 2008 3:23 PM

@lalapizzame: Yes, they will always hit if the opponent does not hold an evasion item, uses an evasion move, or has an evasion ability

@pokemonshinylegends: Nahh, that's incorrect. Flamethrower / Earthquake misses all the time if the opponent has Double Teamed, along with other moves.

Umm... no. 100% accuracy means that if no modifiers are in play (Sand Veil, Brightpowder, Double Team, etc.), the move will always hit. But if there are modifiers in play (see previous), then the move's accuracy will be lowered.

ABYAY April 14th, 2008 4:30 PM

Also, take into account that moves such as Dig, Dive, Shadow Force, etc. will make moves miss, barring a particular move (except against Shadow Force)

Justin T April 15th, 2008 12:10 PM

Hey I got this spread from smogon. Does this seem good for Weavile with this basic moveset:

40 HP / 252 Atk / 216 Spd (this was mainly the only spread)

Pursuit
Ice Punch
Brick Break
Night Slash

airconditioning April 15th, 2008 12:39 PM

Hmm... that set should be fine. It barely outspeeds base 120 Pokemon, so you shouldn't have a problem. And the only other base 125 Poke that's not an Uber is Swellow, which isn't particularly common. Of course, if your Weavile has less than a flawless Speed IV, you'll need to pump more EVs into Speed to compensate.

Justin T April 15th, 2008 1:39 PM

Nah the only thing that sucks is that it has a 21 in hp, but I'm still going to train it for competitive battling.

By the way, is this iv/ev spread and moveset for a mixed sweeper pikachu:

152 Atk / 104 SpA / 252 Spd
HP: 18/ Attack: 31/ Defense: 28/ Sp. Attack: 31/ Sp. Defense: 31/ Speed: 31

Thunderbolt
Brick Break
Grass Knot / Hidden Power Ice
Substitute

Crystal Shaymin April 15th, 2008 4:47 PM

so is ice punch any good on metagross? i got one with a good ev spread and moves, but it has ice punch, not thunder punch.

ABYAY April 15th, 2008 4:50 PM

Ice Punch is a very good option on Metagross because it gives him OHKO potential on Dragons. Plus, it's a good coverage move in general.

airconditioning April 15th, 2008 4:57 PM

It should be alright. It hits Dragons and Grounds, most importantly, so I'd say it's not a bad idea.

Justin T April 15th, 2008 5:55 PM

Mind helping me out again airconditioning?

_Diego// April 16th, 2008 6:32 PM

Hey does anyone know if you can play a 'Single Lvl. 100' battle as in Wi-Fi, but though Wireless Connection?

Le_Avatar April 16th, 2008 6:42 PM

You mean in the Union Room ?
No pal you can't, you just can battle that lvl30 and below thing (or maybe even 20, I forgot...)

_Diego// April 16th, 2008 6:47 PM

No, not the Union Room. The Room that is to the right of that :P

Le_Avatar April 16th, 2008 6:57 PM

Oh hum, dunno :P I should try sometimes

_Diego// April 16th, 2008 7:05 PM

I battled against a friend today, and we just couldn't find an option tht rose our Pokemon to 100. Just some weird 'Cup' Rules... Oh well, thanks anyway.

airconditioning April 16th, 2008 7:11 PM

There isn't, trust me. Because of it, I could never battle with my friend, because he trained all of his Pokemon to lv. 100. I had lv. 50s.

XaRhS April 17th, 2008 9:30 AM

GRUDGE

HEY,DO YOU NOW WHAT ''GRUDGE'' DOES?
IT IS AS WEIRD AS ''MEMENTO''

Azonic April 17th, 2008 4:07 PM

Grudge: If the defending opponent used Grudge, and the opponent KO'd the defender, the defender's last used move's PP is eliminated. So lets say Ninetales and Heracross are in a battle. Ninetales used Grudge and Heracross used Close Combat. Ninetales faints, and Heracross's Close Combat move PP becomes 0/5 instead of 4/5.

You know what I so can't decide on this. Which do you guys think is more effective for a subseeder jumpluff: encore or u-turn?

Encore, if you set a Sub up on a non damage move, then Encore it, Jumpluff will be irritating.

*Shudder* I remember this thing from Netbattle. Annoying as hell......

ABYAY April 19th, 2008 9:04 AM

This is more of an item question. Let's say (just for the heck of making this work) I give a Starmie with Recover, a Focus SAsh. The sash activates, and I recover back to full (their attack misses), and they hit me again while I'm at full. Will it activate again?

sims796 April 19th, 2008 9:11 AM

Nope, a one use item.
