Which is generally better: Trickspecs Zam, or Life Orb sweeper?

devilicious July 25th, 2008 10:20 PM

I prefer Trickspecs myself, because it virtually shuts down the opponent's special wall if you predict right.
Alakazam just doesn't have the speed and power to sweep properly anymore, in my opinion. So you better make him different from other Special Sweepers like Azelf.

Yes, because Weavile destroys it and Blissey now packs Sp. Def EVs.

Lol, Weavile is easily walled, though Pursuit is tricky.

And the second threat is why TrickSpecs was made.

devilicious July 25th, 2008 10:41 PM

I'm not saying Weavile isn't easily walled. What I'm saying is that it screws Alakazam up, being immune to his STAB and delivering a fatal Pursuit.

And yeah, that's why I told you to use it. :D

I know, which is why I said Pursuit messes it up.

I'm using it now, it's pretty good. =D

Archer July 25th, 2008 11:17 PM

The thing is, Zam locks Blissey down, but now they are both severely crippled. Zam is guts, but it needs the Specs to sweep.

LEARN. TO. READ.

Emulation forum is where you should go.

Also, I'm feeling a little adventurous, how does Mismagius do over Alakazam in terms of sweeping?

moments. July 26th, 2008 1:45 AM

Mismagius I think is a nice sweeper (although I haven't tried Alakazam yet) because she is kinda bulky.
She has pretty nice speed and Sp Atk and is quite bulky which helps. You can Calm Mind while taking a few hits then go on a rampage.
Very nice sweeper indeed!

Wrong forum, try the "Emulation" section.

@KT, Mismagius is good IMO, as it can get past Blissey with ease, unlike zam. A very underrated threat.

I was wondering what Rapid Spinners are out there for OU and UU tiers? I'll list the ones that come to mind, I'm after knowing if I overlooked any because the list feels to small.

OU:
Donphan
Starmie
Forretress

UU:
Blastoise
Hitmontop
Claydol
Cloyster
Torkoal

I'm wanting to know to help prediction my skills.

Add Armaldo and Sandslash to the UU list and Tentacruel to the OU list.

. July 27th, 2008 8:50 PM

Hay guyz. I have a massive Mixape/Gyarados/Garchomp/Salamence weakness, but I need something to counter them, BESIDES Celebi, Vaporeon, and Cresselia.

devilicious July 27th, 2008 8:52 PM

Deoxys-S?
Not really 'counter' them, but OHKOs them all, lol.

Starmie should do the job too, if the Gyarados doesn't pack Bite.

airconditioning July 27th, 2008 8:58 PM

As Deviruchi said, Starmie kills all of those with ease. Slowbro w/ HP Electric should also work to an extent.

sims796 July 27th, 2008 9:06 PM

Justbr careful of the odd Grass Knot from Nape, you should do fine.

. July 27th, 2008 9:17 PM

I settled for a bulky Deoxys-e, thanks guys (yes, it can survive things. It can live ScarfChomp's Outrage, Gyara's Waterfall after a DD, Sucker Punch from Choice Band Dugtrio, etc...)

airconditioning July 27th, 2008 9:35 PM

Interesting. What spread does it use? I can't imagine it being able to deal a good amount of damage without the usual SAtk and Atk EVs.

Deoxys-e @ Leftovers
Timid
252 HP/184 SpA/74 Spe
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Psychic
Recover

It may not OHKO all of them, but they will almost always switch out.

Also, are you sure it's a wireless router? Like, it has an antenna and everything?

... It doesn't have an antenna.. At least, I don't see one. It's just a little gray-ish rectangle thing with a lot of green lights flashing...

Then it's probably not a wireless router.
