I still think they're both set up bait though.

How is Cresselia set-up bait when it can paralyze every single one of the most common switches into it and throw up Reflect to laugh off the blow...?

Also, don't ignore Uxie as a Stealth Rocker and a reliable Gyarados counter. Cresselia is better, but Uxie has some nifty selling points.

But to answer the question, yes, and it's actually a pretty darn good mixed wall. Just don't make it an inferior Cresselia, or it's pointless to use honestly.

Hidden Power varies upon Pokemon Natures too. What nature do you want Zapdos to have?

evilcheese September 10th, 2008 4:57 PM

just use the dropdown thing under its ivs and select ice.

Quite obvious, yes. The problem is that when you select a certain Hidden Power type for legendary Pokemon, the IVs that are given are illegit on Shoddy.

... and we still need the nature of the Zapdos. :x

Anti September 10th, 2008 5:20 PM

For Calm Zapdos, 20 Atk/30 Def (31 in the rest) nets you HP Ice with 68 base power.

For Modest Zapdos, 10 Atk/30 Def (31 in the rest) nets you 70 base power HP Ice.

Any other nature just ask. It's not really that hard to figure out. On shoddy, all you do is change it to the HP value you want, and then find a stat that is knocked down to thirty (try to use the one that is the most irrelevant to the set, so try not to knock down defenses). Then, substract four from that until the IVs work.

For example, start with 30 Atk Zapdos and go to 26, then 22, and continue that pattern until it works. You'll get 70 base power hidden powers with the same type. If none of those work (like with Calm Zapdos), then try the numbers in between (like 28 and 24). those give you the same hidden power type with 68 base power.

EDIT: At least it always works for me lol

They can all do jobs better than him- Cresselia has much better defences (When HP is counted) and recovery, and bronzong has a huge quantity of resistances/immunities compared to uxie. Heck even mespirit pulls off a better CM set. It just isnt worth trying when the alternatives are so much better.

Oh come on. You can't say that.

As was already mentioned, Uxie has more useful moves than Cresselia to play a role of mixed wall and What are healing moves really? First of all, Moonlight is far from a good healing move with the likes of HIppowdon and Tyranitar. And a lot of the Games most popular walls don't even have a reliable recover move. I'm talking of course about Snorlax, Swampert, Bronzong, Suicune, Cresselia (33% with a Sandstorm and 5 PP is reliable?) and Jirachi (Barring Wish)

Uxie also has fantastic defenses. It's more than eligible to be a mixed wall.

I don't know if I'm to ask this here, but I will anyway. Steer me in the right direction.

Now something is up with the shoddy server. I put in the code, the IP whatchamacallit & the host whoozit, but nothing, no connection. Is it just me, or what? Should I re-install shoddy?

No, it's just the connection acting up. It happens to all of us.

sims796 September 10th, 2008 9:19 PM

For extended periods of time? You're the shoddy expert, so I'll take your word. Technology is for the youngsters, anyway >=(

So it'll work eventually, right?

Dukey September 11th, 2008 12:43 AM

k thnx, I'm just lloking for a Zapdos nature that improves speed

DarkTyphlosion157 September 11th, 2008 8:46 AM

Timid
Jolly
Hasty
Naive

Choose your favorite.

Zurich September 11th, 2008 1:16 PM

Timid is better... Why jolly?----
Zapdos has better sp. attack.

Dukey September 11th, 2008 1:35 PM

yeah I've been using timid, it doesn't work

I just lost 5 IQ points from reading that post. .___________.;

31 / 20 / 30 / 31 / 31 / 31

That should work. I've just tested it.

32 IVS in HP O.o
You do know Ivs only go up to 31 right?

Azonic September 11th, 2008 3:11 PM

Ahh, it was a typo, darnit. >:T

I meant 31 / 20 / 30 / 31 / 31 / 31.

And I just tested it on Shoddy, so I'm 99% sure it should work... unless I'm mentally retarded.

HP Ice 70.

Matt-O September 12th, 2008 1:02 PM

Should I put Blaze Kick or Fire Punch on my Blaziken? I'm leaning toward Fire Punch for accuracy but I'm considering Blaze Kick for higher power. I'm not using Flare Blitz because it's a LO set which makes Flare Blitz suicidal.

sims796 September 12th, 2008 1:04 PM

Considering the power of both, Flare Blitz is far superior. There is a noticable difference between the moves.

I'd go Blaze Kick, out of those choices, however. Otherwise, you're easier to wall.

Again, I'm going to kill myself in no time with a Life Orb attached if I use Flare Blitz. Should I consider an Expert Belt instead so I still have a lot of power and will live a little longer?

sims796 September 12th, 2008 1:16 PM

Well, you should be careful about playiong so conservatiley. But Expert Belt could work. Still, remember that you will cause less damage.

Use Expert Belt or a Choice Band depending on your set, but Flare Blitz is still the superior option (FP and BK are poop tbh) i would use that definitely.

Is Aero a good support lead with Sunny Day? I need a good Sunny Day starter. I got Heatran as one, I need one more.

Also, with the power of Stone Edge, & the fast pace of compettitive battling today, is Rock Slide even viable? Lucario is now using Focus Blast over Aura Sphere because the power drop makes it obsolete. Which is the same with Rock Slide. The power is far too low, at a measily base 75, it hardly hits anything hard at all, and doesn't do worthwhile damage.

Mobile says that it is viable, because the accuracy may be better. Granted, i say accuracy is worthless if it doesn't do any real damage to begin with.
