Entry hazards are a let-down for Focus Sash users. Stealth Rocks, Spikes, etc completely destroy it. If Garchomp is holding a Yache Berry (which it usually does), Weavile won't be getting more than 60% onto Garchomp. Weavile can't OHKO a full-HP YacheChomp with Ice Punch without a Choice Band.

Okay, here's a stupid one:

What is the MOST overused pokemon? What is the second, third, etc?

Azonic October 23rd, 2008 4:32 PM

They would probably be among Shaymin-s, Scizor, Suicune, Zapdos, and Salamence. They're arguably the most commonly seen Pokemon nowadays.

Postman October 23rd, 2008 4:48 PM

You forgot Heatran and Gengar.

Two questions: Is it possible to OHKO a gyarados with a stone edge from a focus sashed Dugtrio?

and when you need a RMT thread approved, do you have to ask the mod?(sorta new in this part of the community)

I dunno about the Dugtrio part, but I think we are NOT supposed to ask to mods to approve our threads. If they deem it good enough, it will show. If not, sucks for you, or you could just keep posting it until you get an infraction >_<

Just pray to the Mod gods to allow your RMT. Works for me (sometimes) =P

Angelic Diablo October 24th, 2008 10:08 PM

As long as you have all the right things, ie Natures EVs and items, 6 pokemon etc then it should be approved without worries

How important is it to have Rapid Spin on a team? I'm finding it difficult to come up with a group I like that has all the needed offense, defense, and a spinner. If I drop Spinning all together then I'm going to need a Sp. Wall that isn't weak to it it. Any help here?

Rapid Spin is mainly useless outside of stall and since its just a set up fodder turn. If your team is not "Moltres/Articuno/Yanmeaga/Ninjask" etc dont use it lol.

I used to have this problem and like used to end up with 5 walls and one sweeper (which as you guessed, sucked). Dont try and force a role of a pokemon in your team if it cripples you in the process. One pokemon weak to SR is fine and you should be able to cope.

Also there are some great special walls that arnt weak to SR.

I'm fine with sweepers weak to SR, they aren't meant to take much punishment anyway. But I don't want my walls weak to SR, so could you give me a good Sp. Wall not weak to it?

blissey and snorlax are your best bets

Do you think the Metagame will calm down/even out after Tiers and sets are stabilised? It's more of a trivial question, but a question, nonetheless.

DarkTyphlosion157 October 29th, 2008 11:19 AM

Until we have a few more kickings to Ubers, I think the metagame is as much of a no-go zone as Glasgow at 11pm.

What is the standard Scizor set in the metagame currently?

Rapid Spin is still viable, considering how people still use those damn SSRLs and how many of the metagame's sweepers are SR weak. (Shaymin-S, Gyarados, Salamence etc) However, you should have at least 2 SR weaks in order for it to be semi-considerable. The only reason my current team packs it is that Hitmontop comes installed with it like Windows Vista with crippleware Word Processer. (Well, mine was, 25 uses and it never worked again)

Adamant Nature
Trait : Technician

You can use Night Slash >> Pursuit to hit the rotom formes harder, but meh =/.

DarkTyphlosion157 October 30th, 2008 11:39 AM

Zapdos is Pt Scizor's 100% counter I'm guessing? And thanks for letting me know, not interested in making one, just checking up on the standard.

What is with this speed game nowadays, with most sweepers running Jolly + too many Spd EVs? My 28 HP/252 Atk/228 Spd Adamant Kingdra has been doing fine (when I still went on Shoddy)

hi

right, i've never been here before, so yeah...
i'm starting a new game on Sapphire and i'm wondering what would be the best nature for a aron to E.V. it in attack.
Also, when it becomes an Aggron, what would be a good moveset for it to have? Thanks in advance

You can pretty much go with 252 HP/252 Atk/6 Spd and Adamant on any set.
Also, you can either run a SubPunching set or a Choice Bander.

SubPunch http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/dp/306.png
Aggron @ Leftovers
Adamant | Sturdy
[ 252 HP/252 Atk/6 Spd ]
~ Substitute
~ Focus Punch
~ Stone Edge
~ Avalanche/Thunder Wave
Choice Band http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/dp/306.png
Aggron @ Choice Band
Adamant | Rock Head
[ 252 HP/252 Atk/6 Spd ]
~ Ice Punch/Avalanche
~ Focus Punch
~ Stone Edge
~ Earthquake/Double Edge

Of course you can replace Stone Edge with Rock Slide if you are playing RSE. Also, Ice Beam can work until you get to DP or just throw either EQ or DE over the Ice attacks on the Choice Bander.

I was just wondering how Gyro ball's power is calculated, is it your opponents speed - your speed, or does your speed not affect the power at all? (Therefore, Gyro ball's power would be based on how fast your opponent is)

The Hero Without a Name October 30th, 2008 5:25 PM

(opponent's speed/your speed)*25

Max power's 150.

So say, Jolly Weavile vs. Relaxed Forry.
394/71=5.549*25>150; since the result is 5.549, and 5.549*25 is greater than 150, the power is 150.

kaelon October 30th, 2008 10:58 PM

Alright, thanks! It was very useful ^^

I was also wondering what the max amount of vitamins (Protein, carbos, etc.) that you can give a pokemon and how many EVs each give?

Each vitamin gives 10 EVs to the corresponding stat. They can also not accept any more once they reach 100. So if you intend to use 10, then do it before doing any EV training. Good Luck.

That movesets I don't like in the actual metagame full of Lucario & company won't go from anybody.
PS: When my team will be published?

First of all, it took me three attempts to make any sense of that. =/
Secondly, Aggron is UU. It only has to deal with Hitmonlee/top in that respect.
Threats to it have trouble coming in. Most are shut down by Paralysis, except for Hitmonlee, which has to break Subs on the SubPunch set. Aside from the fact that this is in-game and RSE....
