Wrong stickie there buddy. XD *Moves over to Simple Q & A*

Yes, the berry will come back for the next battle. You don't need to worry about item loss in the Battle Tower.

Quick Question about EV training.

Will putting a pokemon into the daycare, just to level it up, harm its EVs?

Next time, Ace, post here when you want to ask simple questions. ;D *Moved this thread into a post here*

Not at all. I myself tend to leave Pocket Monsters in the Daycare to level it up enough to EV train. So no, the Daycare won't touch effort values.

AceTrainerLandon November 10th, 2008 2:22 PM

kay thanks! i was trying to find the Q&A thing, but i couldnt find it at all >_<

....where IS the Q&A thread? >_<

found it nvm, thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

Not really sure if this is an appropriate question, but....

| Gengar | Move | Shadow Ball | 95.3 |

Taken directly from October statistics for Shoddy.

I simply do not know what that 4.7% of people use on their Gengar. Any comments?

The Hero Without a Name November 10th, 2008 5:40 PM

Well, I've seen some novelty Choice Banders with Shadow Claw...

StrickeN November 10th, 2008 5:47 PM

Well, my file got erased and my AR (sav) isn't working for some reason.

So I'm sitting here working on a bunch of new pokemon. and I'm trying to come up with some different stuff to throw together and try out.

Whats a good set for MixVire, and MixMortar. Two great late gamers. and I'm looking to trying them out :)

TY vm :)

Hey guys. I'm running a Scarf Magnezone on Shoddy with this:

Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 20 HP/236 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Explosion
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Flash Cannon

My team has no real counter for Scizor, who is way too common now that he has Bullet Punch. Would it be a good idea to change Zone's HP to Fire? He loses a bit of help against Ground Types and Dragons, but I have other pokemon to deal with them. And then Magnezone can switch in on Bullet Punch, resist that, trap him, and HP Fire him to death. (Pretty sure I'd still outspeed his Brick Break).

Thoughts?

EV Training Swampert

Hi, I have a Question on EV training Swampert.

I want to give Swampert stats of hp/400 def/250 sp.def/250. I read that you can give up to 64 bonuses in 2 stats, so to fine out if I can do that I went looking for a chart on Swamperts stats. I got my chart from Serebii.net Pokedex (sorry I can't post URL)

So this is where I got messed up. I was thinking that the max possible was including EV training, but it ranges in the 90s, and its way too much of a bonus for EV training, so I was hoping you could help me figure out what the hell is going on, and how I can get the stats I want, if not close to it.

Ps: I'd rather do my Impish Swampert, but I can retrain a new one, oh and sorry my English is horrible.

Thanks in advance

Not sure if this is supposed to go in the other threat buttt..

What's the stats of a ursaring with +3 speed and guts with a poison orb? The evs would be 252 atk/252 spe and Jolly or adamant

We need the information of what it's IVs are. Both IVs and EVs make a difference in a Pokemon's nature.

There are preferred EV sets for different movesets of Swampert. Impish goes best with Physical Swampert with the EV spread of 252 HP / 6 Atk / 252 Def. I'm not sure if that's close to what you wanted the stats to be, but it remains as the preferred EV spread if you battle competitively.

By the way, you can only get up to 63 extra stat points through EV training with 252 EV points in a stat. Training it up to 255+ makes no difference, the max is always 63. (252 / 4 = 63)

:D? Do you want me to post its Lv, and stats?

Swampert Lv.42
Impish
EV: 255 def (I lost count but I at least killed 35 with the belt, and drank 10 of them vitamin)
Atk 111
def 126
sp.atk 76
sp.def 90
spd 62

Maybe you could give me a example of a good Swampert?

No, those aren't IV's.

With flawless IVs, the stats should be:

321 / 591 / 186 / 522 / 167 / 186 (HP, Atk, Def, Spe, SAtk, SpD) for Adamant and:

321 / 538 / 186 / 572 / 167 / 186 for Jolly.

Does any one know what you breed with Hippowdon to get Ice Fang? :S

I think it's a breeding chain <_<

Also whats the chain to get Electivire with Cross Chop?

Milke November 13th, 2008 7:50 AM

What exactly is a revenge kill and what is a revenge killer?

StrickeN November 13th, 2008 8:01 AM

Self explanatory
Revenge Kill - You lose a pokemon bring in this pokemona nd get a KO
IE: Azelf OHKOs your Heracross with Psychic. You bring in Weavile and Pursuit (although if you predict the psychic you can get a KO any way)

Revenge killer is a pokemon who can come in and KO a pokemon after losing one (for revenge) IE: ScarfGengar or Pursuit CB Weavile or CB Pursuit TTar

Ice Fang is a level up move for Hippowdon, actually. All you need is a Heart Scale to teach it the move.

StrickeN November 13th, 2008 8:44 AM

aha.

Never bred Hippow. Thank you very much.

Donphan or Forretress?

I need a Rapid Spinner for my team, and I was looking into these two, as my team is rather lacking for walls.
Donphan's Electricity absorption is very helpful (Considering I have a Gyarados on my team) and his offense is also useful. Forretress seems to be a better wall in my opinion, and can also set up Spikes and Stealth Rock. Plus he can blow up. =3
So, which do you think will be more useful for me?

Zebra Thunderhead November 13th, 2008 12:48 PM

This belongs in S&M.
