Mean Look is usually only good for the Perish Trapping set. Jynx is my favorite Pokemon and I can assure you the Luna set I posted is the most effective (well, most of the time) set available.

Substitute will protect you from status and other threats. It may be walled by Tyranitar and Blissey, but just pair Jynx with a Dugtrio to take them out.

FinalPaladin September 19th, 2008 7:29 AM

AdvanceMapper September 19th, 2008 1:49 PM

Look at the 4th gen compiled guides. Seriously, this team is really out of it with bad natures and movesets, and if you don't even know the IV's, then you should make a new team.

Emerald move tutor for Ice Punch, or Platinum =p.

ABYAY September 19th, 2008 9:00 PM

Recently, I've been running a new Dragonite set. It's pretty killer, and it's something no other dragon can attempt.

[email protected]
Impish
248HP/192spd/36def/32sp.def

Substitute
Roost
Focus Punch
Dragon Claw

Sub-Roost Nite and pretty dang defensive. Fighting/Dragon gives unmatched coverage. The speed hits 244. Defenses are pretty even, each boasting 240+ with a great 385 HP.

Normally Substitute Dragonite uses Focus Punch/Dragon Claw/Sub/Fire move with a lot of attack and HP only. This set utilizes a decent bit of speed (you can drop down some in favor of more bulk), Dragonite's already great 304 attack with a neutral nature, and allows Dragonite to take a lot of hits.

Opinions?

Mochan September 20th, 2008 5:39 AM

Need EV spreads for Charizard, Venasaur, Blastoise. (Movesets if possible too please)

Archer September 20th, 2008 5:51 AM

Charizard @ Salac Berry
Jolly | Blaze
[ 252 Atk, 4 Def, 252 Spd ]
~ Substitute
~ Belly Drum
~ Fire Punch
~ Earthquake

Mochan September 20th, 2008 6:02 AM

Hm, I made my Charizard a SP.Att sweeper, and it already has 252 in SP.Att. Do 252 att, or what?

And still need Blastoise and Venasaur.

Well, after destroying half of my team with that Nite, I would say its not that bad. Then again, I was using a monotype team against u...

Rate this Ape =)
NP Subape @ Petaya Berry
Timid
EVs 252 Spatk/252 Spe/4 HP
-Nasty Plot
-Substitute
-Fire Blast
-Focus Blast

FinalPaladin September 20th, 2008 8:44 AM

hey my metagross is awsome.if any new comers need a good battle tower team ask me for it

Feraligatr,ice fang,auqa tail/waterfall,crunch,earthquake
typhlosion,flareblitz,earthquake
meganium,solarbeam,sunnyday,synthesis,HP fire

Archer September 20th, 2008 8:47 AM

Eh, too easily walled. Also, Focus Blast has bad acc. for a main attack.
If you are subbing, then you could always run a Subpunch set.

There are better pokes for this job. Infenape lacks the raw stats to pull off a specialised sweep, hence why he's always seen running mixed. You're putting too much investment into set-up, a PHazer will really kick you in the teeth. The set is also walled by bulky waters, with Cune taking little damage from Focus Blast (If it hits) and slowking, starmie, tenta and gyara laugh at you completely. It just doesnt have the coverage and is reliant on a lot of set up for and real potency. Use the mixed set, or at very least a choice variant.

FinalPaladin September 20th, 2008 8:50 AM

infernape
flareblitz
closecombat/machpunch/brickbreak
u-turn/shadowclaw
thunderpunch

Erm, why did you post that set? Is it to be rated or just a random reply to the current discussion?

UUUser September 20th, 2008 8:58 AM

+4 Fire Blast to Gyara (no Spd/236 Spd)
257 ~ 297 (2HKO)

+4 Fire Blast to Starmie (no Spd/206 Spd)
289 ~ 339 (OHKO)

+3 Focus Blast to Suicune (no Spd/266 Spd)
373 ~ 479 (OHKO)

+3 Focus Blast to Suicune (no Spd, +1 Spd/399 Spd)
250~294 (2HKO)

deals huge amount of damage but lack of accuracy and pp oTL

All of those imply you will get either 2NPs or an NP and Petaya boost in without getting PHazed or OHKO'd. KO'ing Nape is easy at the best of times, reducing your HP by chunks of 25% is gonna make you weak to things as trivial as rapid spin. If you need to set up this much while undergoing a barrage of attacks from their Ape counters, you're gonna have serious problems.

UUU wanted his set rated, not additional sets given. Posting an incomplete set (You forgot EVs, item and nature) is not helping anybody.

The set you posted is very similar to standard CBApe, but with some pointless alternatives offered. Mach Punch is too weak and Ape is fast already, and brick break has almost 0 advantage over CC. Shadow Claw offers almost nothing over U-Turn, which is far more beneficial.
