Since I don't know UU for crap...Can anyone suggest a good lead for me?

Necromancy October 22nd, 2008 1:40 PM

I'm not sure what else is good, but you can't really go wrong with Persian.

Persian @ Life Orb/Leftovers
Jolly nature
Technician
4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
- Fake Out
- Bite
- Hypnosis
- U-Turn

This is quite a damaging lead with Fake Out boosted by Technician and Life Orb. Bite hits Ghosts and the 30% flinch rate is handy with Persian's speed, plus the Technician boost it gets as well. Hypnosis makes for faster sleep than Gengar (without Choice Scarf), and U-Turn to send in something else while scoring a hit. If Life Orb recoil puts you off, Leftovers is a good alternative since it helps Persian kick more things.

Max™ October 22nd, 2008 1:49 PM

Wondering if this works

Gengar @ Peteya Berry
Timid
252 spatt / 252 speed / 4 def IV:30 HP
~Substitute
~Destiny Bond
~Shadow Ball
~Focus Blast / tbolt
Sub down to petaya then when you think everythings over, dbond on your way out.

I love this sort of Gengar but for some strange reason I just like to BLOW THINGS UP. Damn my Colombian tendencies xD

Try this...

[email protected] Berry
Hasty Nature (+Spd -Def)
EVs: 252 Spd 220 /Sp.Atk/ 58 Atk
-EXPLOSION HAHAHA
-Shadow Ball
-Thunderbolt
-I REEEEEALY dont like Focus Blast on this set so how about HP Fighting. The bad accuracy really kills some good chances at a kill. but hey if ya want power over accuracy then by all means go for it.

Hey of ya arent Colombian or just prefer D Bond over Explosion then your set is just fine. I am still iffy about that Fail-erm i mean Focus Blast. Good set nonetheless.

Sexycheese October 23rd, 2008 12:46 AM

Hey everyone :)
I got bored of my old Ou team and tryed starting a new one, problem is it sucks compleatly, I mean i still win with it but.....It is awful. Please help!!!

Here it is.....

My New Ou team….

Name: Ninja (Very original…. From a trade)
Species: Ninjask
Nature: Jolly
Item: Focus Sash
Ev’s: 252 spd/ 129 def/129 sdef

~Agility
~Swords Dance
~Protect
~Baton pass

Yay!!! A kak poke!. I know this is totally screwed by sand stream but it tends to work more often than not. If I am passing to a physical sweeper use swords dance, If to a special sweeper I go for agility. Follow up with protect and then baton pass away!

Name: Jenova (FF7 anyone?)
Species: Metagross
Nature: Adamant
Item: Leftovers
Ev’s: 152 HP / 252 Atk / 104 Spe

~ Meteor Mash (^.^)
~ Earthquake
~ Explosion

~ Thunder punch

Now who doesn’t luuuuuurv a metagross???? Although it is very reliant on baton pass support….

Name: Barret (Seriously……..I need to get out more….. >.>)
Species: Swampert
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Relaxed
Ev’s: 240 HP / 216 Def / 52 atk

~ Earthquake
~ Avalanche (Coincidence or what?)
~ Roar
~ Stealth Rock

Phazer in a sense but can deal damage if its needed.

Name: Cloud (>.>……Must I say it?)
Species: Umbreon
Naure: Careful
Item: Leftovers
Ev’s: 252 HP / 92 SpD / 164 Spe

~ Mean Look
~ Baton Pass
~ Wish
~ Substitute

Trap, substitute, wish and baton pass. Not much else to say really…..

Name: Vincent (……No comment……)
Species: Spiritomb
Nature: Modest
Item: Leftovers
Evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA

~ Hidden power fighting
~ Nasty plot

~ Shadow ball
~ Pain split

A special “Sweeper” Spiritomb. Hp fighting and shadow ball hit everything for at least netural damage. Pain split keeps it alive and it rapes blissey (I see blissey soooo often……)

Name: Arceus (Keep reading…..)
Species: Luvdisk (Try not to laugh…oh? Too late?)
Nature: Modest
Item: Choice scarf
Ev`s: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252Spe

~ Brine
~ Surf
~ Ice beam
~ Toxic

I’m sorry I know this is awful but….I love the look on my opponents face when they see this! Just when they are about to start raving at me for using an Uber the weakest pokemon of all pops out! Plus the immense pleasure I get from walloping someone with luvdisk is too much!!! Now let us try and take this seriously for a moment and perhaps pretend that luvdisk is not as awful as it is. This is only used at the end of the match when the opponent is weakened. As a result Brine is the attack of choice as it gets STAB and gets the bonus of its effect. Choice scarf is just in case it needs an extra bit of speed (which more often than not, it does).

Any tips would be appreciated. I know a few will concern luvdisk…..Well…maybe more than just a few :) My type coverage is plain Awful…… this is the worst team I have ever made…..

Archer October 23rd, 2008 3:12 AM

Actually, Luvdisc can be awesome on Rain Teams. You are fast as all hell and you have Status to be distributing. Surf is ok as you get a STAB, but Ice Beam is pretty much useless. The attacks are only for chipping away the last of a pokemon's health, anyway. I have run something like this:

Luvdisc @ Focus Sash ** Executive
Timid | Swift Swim
[ 6 HP, 252 SAtk, 252 Spd ]
~ Toxic
~ Rain Dance
~ Sweet Kiss/Protect
~ Surf/Protect

If you need more assistance there, ask the Luvdisc Master.

Really? I always thought luvdisk was an epic fail unless used near the end of a match...what about the other poke's?

I left a message on that guys profile

ive been using this as for late and its pretty cool, you could try it out.

[email protected] Berry / Focus Sash
252 SPEED / 252 SP.ATT / 6 HP
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock

Sleep leads were annoying me so i use lum so i get a free taunt after i wake up first turn lol, thus kinda screwing them and setting up a sr.

Earth Power + Ice beam have great coverage. But pretty much sucide Nido =p.

Hacked Pokemon is hacked, fake out YES, elemental punches,NO

Sucker Punch/Earthquake/Close Combat/Stone Edge should be the basis of hitmonlee sets.

Necromancy October 23rd, 2008 11:17 AM

Raichu @ Leftovers (looking for a better item choice - suggestions?)
Timid nature
4 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spd
- Fake Out / Hidden Power: Ice
- Encore
- Thunderbolt
- Thunderwave / Hidden Power: Ice

What a funny looking set. This is like a UU anti-lead. Basically, you Fake Out to kill their Focus Sash first. If you're slower, you can try and (hopefully) Encore their set-up, whether it's Stealth Rock, Substitute, or whatever. If you're faster, just Thunderwave them and Encore their move on the next turn if it's worth Encoring. Thunderbolt is just an STAB move, although Hidden Power: Ice proves effective with all the Grass and Ground types running around UU. I personally haven't seen many Focus Sash leads in UU myself, so you can keep Thunderwave and still use Hidden Power by removing Fake Out.

Encore is great at forcing switches and is useful on something as quick as Raichu. By forcing them to switch, you can help to spread Paralysis to their entire team, which provides great support and can allow for a clean sweep.

Also, are there any suggestions for the item choice? :3

Detox October 23rd, 2008 1:55 PM

Eh...UU confounds me to no end,so would this be a good set for a hitmonchan?

HitmonChan @ Life orb
Iron fist
252 atk 252 speed 6 hp

Close combat
mach punch/bulet punch
thunderpunch/ice punch
Earthquake

Close combat for powerful STAB,mach punch for saftey really,if the opponet only has a few hp left,or bullet punch for those speedy ice types, earthquake for ...um... power? and thunderpunch/ice punch for whatever the other moves dont kill.....

i seriously suck at UU....

Necromancy October 23rd, 2008 2:11 PM

If you don't want to set-up, like with Agility, then you're better off going for Choice Band/Scarf. I'd personally be inclined to use Choice Scarf, as it patches up his mediocre speed.

Hitmonchan @ Choice Scarf
Adamant nature
Iron Fist
252 Atk / 6 SpDef / 252 Spd
- Close Combat
- Mach Punch
- Ice Punch
- Thunder Punch

Ice Punch and Thunder Punch give you great coverage, and Close Combat is seriously strong here. Mach Punch gives you priority, which is useful for all of the Reveral/Flail users in UU. If you want more coverage, or have a piority attack user already, you can use Fire Punch instead of Mach Punch. Btw, all attacks on this set apart from Close Combat get a 20% power boost from Iron Boost.

Detox October 23rd, 2008 2:15 PM

I think ill be baton passing him an agility and a swords dance....

coulda sworn close combat got the iron fist bonus...in fact, ive seen it somewhere...anyway....

Yanma @ Wise glasses?
timid/modest
speed boost
252 sp. atk, 252 spd, 6 sp. def

bug buzz
hypnosis
air slash
baton pass

good moveset for a UU yanma?

luke October 23rd, 2008 2:46 PM

Yanma is not UU - it's NFE. Can't be used in UU.

Detox October 23rd, 2008 3:10 PM

Cant the NFE ter play up to the UU tier? like using UU in a OU match?

luke October 23rd, 2008 3:16 PM

No, the only "NFE" Pokemon that can be used in UU are Scyther, Clamperl, Trapinch, and Pikachu. Everything else is technically is part of the tier that their higher evolutions are in. You can use them if you want, but if their superior evolution is available, why use them.

Detox October 23rd, 2008 3:46 PM

Um...okay......then how about this....

Scyther @ life orb
Adamant
252 atk, 252 speed, 6 def

X-Scissor/U-Turn
Swords dance
agility/superpower
Baton pass/substitute

basically a baton passer or physical sweeper.

Necromancy October 24th, 2008 3:29 AM

I wouldn't recommend Superpower with Baton Pass, since you'll be passing the defense drop and will have to Swords Dance again to make up for the attack drop. Having the recipient hit with an attack after -1 Def is passed to them isn't that useful. :/

If you want a Baton Pass set that still holds a lot of attacking power, try this.

Scyther @ Life Orb
Jolly
Technician
252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
- Swords Dance
- Baton Pass
- Aerial Ace
- X-Scissor

The 4 leftover EVs are put into Def as that makes Scyther's HP an odd number, so it will survive 2 switches into Stealth Rock. Still, Life Orb recoil will take its toll anyways so I'd definitely advise keeping a Rapid Spinner around. Aerial Ace gets the Technician boost and makes it really quite powerful, X-Scissor hits a lot of UUs for Super Effective damage.

Nice enough, but you could always go with Night Slash and Brick Break for the best Type coverage, as the current attacks are walled by Steels and Rotom among others. This is best played as a lead, as you can avoid the majority of SR Damage this way.

As of those of you discussing NFEs in UU, it has been considered, but it's risky, as many NFEs are slightly underpowered versions with the same Movesets, so many may be too powerful in UU. Basically, the NFEs are only allowed in their evolution's tier (with exceptions, obviously), why Wynaut is considered Uber on most tier lists.

Necromancy October 24th, 2008 4:18 AM

Lol, forgot to add those in. Reversal can also be used if you want to, especially since Life Orb recoil will help bring your HP down. If you replace Aerial Ace but keep X-Scissor, you'll want to use Swarm instead of Technician because none of your moves would get the boost from it. Not to mention Life Orb would take your HP down enough to activate Swarm and power up X-Scissor.

Btw, I'd still like some feedback on this set.

You should just post an RMT since this is a full team >.>....

Garchomp is Uber and can't be used in standard OU play.

Just make your own thread =P
