Oh. Guess I'll have to stick to Scyther and Gorebyss then :P

Anyways after asking in the QnA thread, this is a little moveset I made for Dragonite:

SubBulkyNite
@ Leftovers
Adamant - Inner Focus
252 HP, 60 SpD, 196 Spe

- Roost
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Substitute

The idea is to Sub on the switch, then DD up. Roost when you get the chance. Dragon Claw for STAB and hitting every type for nuetral except steel. It would work best with a Magnezone.

Here are some calcs:

Vaporeon 56 SpA Ice Beam vs SubBulkyNite 75.6 - 90.1%
Vaporeon 56 SpA Ice Beam vs Roosting SubBulkyNite 37.8 - 45.1%

Timid Heatran Fire Blast vs SubBulkyNite 24.1 - 28.2%
Timid Heatran HP Ice vs SubBulkyNite 75.6 - 89.1%
Timid Heatran HP Ice vs Roosting SubBulkyNite 37.8 - 44.6%

Life Orb Gyarados Waterfall vs SubBulkyNite 24.3 - 28.7%
Life Orb Gyarados Stone Edge vs SubBulkyNite 81.8% - 96.9%
Life Orb Gyarados Stone Edge vs Roosting SubBulkyNite 40.9 - 48.4%

AS you can see, most Ice attacks do less than 50% while roosting, and you should outspeed most pokes anyways after 2 DD's

I have tested this, and it worked great, but I lost due to my crappy team at that time >.<

INTERPOL November 22nd, 2008 7:16 AM

does anyone have a good blastoise moveset with surf and icebeam?(leaf green)
or a pidgoet moveset.i think i want pidgeot to have featherdance and wing attack.

Detox November 22nd, 2008 8:26 AM

I was thinkng of traing a Rampardos to meet these standards.

Rampardos @ choice scarf
jolly
mold breaker
252 atk 252 spe 6 hp

Zen Headbutt
Head Smash/ Stone Edge
Earthquake
??????????

need help on deciding what the last move should be

ABYAY November 22nd, 2008 9:00 AM

[email protected] Scarf
Adamant/Jolly (Adamant for pure power, Jolly to outpace Gengar)
252atk/252speed/6sp.def

Stone Edge
EQ
Crunch/Pursuit/Head Smash
Pursuit/Head Smash

Zen Headbutt doesn't really offer coverage. Anyway, this set is your best bet for it unless you have a ton of para support. Stone Edge and EQ are your obvious moves. The third slot should probably use Crunch to smack Dusknoir and Cressy around. The 4th slot is just down to whatever you didn't use in the 3rd slot. Pursuit will hit a fleeing Gengar (which you outpace with Jolly. However, note that you only do about 60-75% unless it switches, but Crunch kills if you think it stays in) Head Smash is your general suicide move, stripping off a whopping 49-57% from Suicune. (2HKO with SR)

If you want to use Ramp anyways, do so with either Trick Room or BP support. Also, its advised against as its weak to three priority moves, two out of which are common(Vacuum Wave & Mach Punch). But it is very viable, nonetheless

Zetta-Chan November 22nd, 2008 12:19 PM

I use Rampy all the time, but with a choice-scarf. he's useless without it. And I HATE the Rock Polish set, ewww. Anyways, for Rogue-Styrke.

Blastoise @ Leftovers
Bold Nature / Torrent
252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SpA
- Rest
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Toxic

Detox November 22nd, 2008 1:15 PM

Wailord @ Damp rock
Modest
Oblivious
252 Sp. Atk./ 200 Spe/ 52 Hp

Water Spout/Surf
Hidden power(ground)
Ice Beam/Blizzard
Rain Dance

Hows this for a Wailord on a rain dance team?

Keyaki November 22nd, 2008 2:22 PM

Need a good Psychic Pokemon to complete team for Platinum

Now have

Infernape
Floatzel
Carnivine
Staraptor
and Lucario

Just need a good Psychic type Pokemon

Pysncrono November 22nd, 2008 2:27 PM

Rotom formes, Dusknoir and Spiritomb are good choices.

Zetta-Chan November 22nd, 2008 6:25 PM

So I was thinking of a Dual-Screen Alakazam, similar to Deoxys-S, for my OU team. What do you guys think of this set? This is a leading set.

Alakazam @ Light Clay
Timid Nature / Inner Focus
252 Spe / 252 HP / 6 SpA
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Taunt
- Psychic

Pysncrono November 23rd, 2008 12:11 AM

It could work well in theory, but I doubt Alakazam will get both screens up since its not ver ybulky. Deo worked cause it had a fair amount of bulk backing the sped up.
If you want a dual screen lead, I think its best to stick to

Bronzong @ Light Clay
Sassy
EV's: 252HP / 144Def / 114SpD
Heatproof
~Light Screen
~Reflect
~Stealth Rock
~Gyro Ball

Granted you dont stop the opponents' rocks, but you get your own. Heatproof would be the good option as the popularity of Azelf and Infernape leads is going up, it may enable you to last that one crucial turn more to complete your setup.

Detox November 23rd, 2008 1:03 PM

Lol at novelty Alakazam...could it work?

[email protected] choice band
252 atk/252 spe/6 hp
Adamant
-Ice Punch
-Fire Punch
-Thunder Punch
-Shadow Ball

luke November 23rd, 2008 1:11 PM

Shadow Ball is special. Go Psycho Blade / Zen Headbutt over it.

lol it would if he had higher attack, but as it is, his ATK is unsalvageable xp

How is Gengar in the metagame

I know its a really good Pokemon but has it been shunned like Garchomp because of that fact or do ppl still use it?

EDIT: Also how are these EVs for a Physical Sweeper Floatzel?:

HP:252,Att:129,Spd: 110

Garchomp's banned now, actually. But regardless, yeah, people still use it.

Thought so, but what do you mean by banned? I thought everyone decided that he is just too powerful for Wifi

and standard just means like a regular tier? not really sweeper or any other category?

EDIT: how about these for Floatzel, Physical Sweeper?:

HP: 40,Att: 2,Def: 252,Spd: 216

Shenzi November 23rd, 2008 2:48 PM

I don't use EVs, but what's a good moveset for a lax Infernape?

Lax... LAX?

1) Lax is one of the most useless ass natures ever.
2) If you don't use EV's, nobody can give you a set. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

true, EVs is essential probably the most important, if you don't have EVs, then we cant do anything for you :/

Anyways i gotta question about Choice Band on Staraptor

I tried it on Shoddy and while battling a Hitmontop with my Staraptor, the only move my Staraptor could use was Close Combat 0.o

Why?

Detox November 23rd, 2008 3:52 PM

Lax? um......... why dont you try Modest, Niave,Adamant,Jolly,Lonely,Naughty,or Timid?

Because thats what choice band does. It limits you to one move and increases the power of that move by 1.5 (50%), you can switch moves when you switch out.

I think it applies for Wi-fi and Shoddy. Not sure, though.

Standard means like...a certain generic set.

E.g;

[email protected] Scarf
Levitate
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest/Timid
Shadow Ball
Focus Blast
Trick
HP Ice / Thunderbolt.

^ That's pretty much what a standard set for Gengar is.

AdvanceMapper November 23rd, 2008 4:35 PM

Anyone rate my Rain Dance Team?
Electrive @ choice scarf
Thunderpunch
Cross Chop
Ice Punch
Fire Punch

[email protected] leftovers
Rain Dance
Giga Drain
Leech Seed
Synthesis

[email protected] nothing
Waterfall
Ice Fang
Earthquake
HP Electric

It's basic, so rate as you please.

Critique in bold. I wouldn't recommend 'Vire as a lead; put Ludicolo as the lead.
