I was thinking that since its HP and Special Defense are so high, and its Attack is...lackluster at best, that I could make it into a physical SubPuncher:

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Adamant
42 HP / 252 Att/ 216 SpD
Substitute
Focus Punch
Stone Edge
Crunch

The HP and SpD EVs could be changed...but whatever.

Why not just turn it into a Bulky CB Tar? That could be a viable option, especially with the par attack.

Could I please have a mix Swampert set? I was thinking this, but want to know if there are better sets out there.

Spoiler:

Swampert @ Leftovers
Relaxed Nature

By the way Soccer, I have a couple movesets that could work for team slots.

Actually, your set is pretty much standard. You could opt for Roar to phaze out pokemon to set up, or Protect to scout, but otherwise, the set looks fine to me.

Hadim Sinan Pasha December 23rd, 2008 7:58 PM

I'm having trouble with my Zapdos. It has perfect IV's, and yes it's Modest natured. It's legit but the flawless IV's means that it has HP Dark. Also, because I can't give it Heat Wave anymore, what can I do with it?

Aéropostale December 23rd, 2008 8:07 PM

Well, you could use the SubRoost set - the timid nature. It is one of the only sets without HP or Heat Wave.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Modest Nature (In your case)
Trait: Pressure
252 HP / 160 SpD / 96 Spe
Substitute
Roost
T-Bolt
Roar

Yeah, that's what i was thinking but it requires Timid, why do I need to be punished with a godly IV'ed Zapdos that i can't do anything, if only it had 30 Speed IV's, then I could give it HP Ice, this is the thing that always happens to me, get a god-like Pokemon, oh no, need to be on emrald to give it this move, etc. etc. Anyways, I'll try out a Subroost set using Modest, see how it works out. I was looking at it on Smogon, hmm, anyways, thanks.

What was the standard EV spread for DP Spin-Starmie?

156 Hp / 154 Def / 200 speed @ Timid

Is the best spread as this can can survive against LO Gyarados even with SR up and SS in play, whilst still outpacing infernape.

Banjora Marxvile December 24th, 2008 12:07 PM

Me and my friend came up with this spread for a Phys.Wall Leafeon

Leafeon @ Leftovers
252 HP/6 ATK/ 252 Def
Swords Dance
Leaf Blade
Synthesis
Aerial Ace

Can this be improved?

El Gofre December 24th, 2008 12:22 PM

Leafeon cannot effectively wall due to its horrible HP stat and lack of support movepool. Your best bet to make it wall would be wish over synthesis (Which is crappy in ever-common weather), grass whistle over swords dance and roar over ariel ace to get rid of special sweepers who you are lucky enough to be 2HKO'd by.

sims796 December 24th, 2008 2:46 PM

lolwut?

I've used Lefeon for walling plenty of times. That and Grumpig (unrelated story, don't mind it) has stuck though plenty of times, especially with max HP/Def. Wish is a given.

It can tank, but poor typing keeps it from walling, similar to why Tangrowth isn't massively OU. By the way, weather in UU isn't that common, you'll usually have to deal with Rain Dance, which is not endless like Sandstorm in OU. Any Sun boosts Synthesis.

Detox December 24th, 2008 5:07 PM

How would this work in a sandstorm?

Gliscor @ Yache berry
Impish/Adamant/
Sand Viel
252 hp/170 sp. def/72 speed/10 def
-Swords dance
-Earthquake
-Roost
-Ice fang

252 HP / 12 Atk / 28 Def / 218 Spd with Impish would work far better. Consider Leftovers as an alternative, as you shouldn't generally be trying to wall something that can otherwise OHKO you.

SkyPioneer December 24th, 2008 6:09 PM

Just a quick question: Damage Calculators. I'm looking for a good one that calculates stats based on evs. What I mean is, I'm looking for a calculator that requires you to input evs instead of statas. Any help?

Hasty/Swift Swim
170 sp. atk/82 atk/252 spe
-Outrage/Draco meteor
-Surf/Waterfall
-Ice beam
-Rain dance

The only one I know of is Metalkid's, but it's inaccurate, so I would just get on Shoddy and type in the EVs to get the stats. I know it's annoying (as I have to do it all the time), but eh, it's better than nothing.

There might be one out there though,,,I just don't know where it is. Sorry :(

SkyPioneer December 24th, 2008 9:21 PM

Yeah, that's what I do all the time. It would be easier if shoddy had a freakin' search function...

skyt December 25th, 2008 8:57 AM

if i'mplanning an all-out physical sweeper with infernape,

what would be better for his STAB fight move?

close combat or focus punch?

**edit**
was planing this infernape
Infernape
-flare blitz
-shadow claw
-thunder punch
-close combat/focus punch

WeisseEdelweiss December 25th, 2008 9:12 AM

Please Help Me With My Sceptile

Gender: Male

Moveset:
Toxic
Detect
Protect
Leaf Blade

I'm curious if I should replace the Leaf Blade with a stronger grass type attack.
Also, will detect work after protect and visa versa?

Shadow Claw is a waste since you hit everything harder with Flare Blitz. Use Stone Edge for Gyarados, Mence etc >> it.

Also U-Turn is useful for scouting and you only lose 5 base power on things like starmie and slowbro (Stone Edge already owns Gyarados so there is less of a need for T-Punch, since those are pretty much the only things its useful for).

Close Combat>>Focus Punch.

In addition Jolly max speed + max att with a Choice Band.

Stop Messing Up My Files, Porygon-Z! December 25th, 2008 3:50 PM

trick room sandstorm team

rhyperior, shuckle, bronzong, magnezone, cacturne

need sandstorm-starting pokemon

rhyperior WILL have rock slide and earthquake and megahorn
shuckle will hopefully be the encore trapper
cacturne will be the evasion set
bronzong will be the trick room set (duh)

SkyPioneer December 25th, 2008 11:09 PM

Consider a minimum speed IV ttar for your 'storm starter. There aren't really any better options, unless you plan to waste an item slot on a pokemon to make it hold that sandstorm prolonging item ( I forgot its name).
