Use natures that lower a stat a pokemon doesn't need. For example, Mixed Swampert needs all stats except speed, so relaxed nature is usually used to help it take physical attacks while lowering its already terrible speed.

Metagross likes Adamant because CB variants (90% of Metagross used) don't have or need special attacks and it needs all the attack it can get.

Nuetral natures are an epic waste on everything, except maybe Unown who sucks anyways.

Novelty teams that use Unown usually use Timid or Modest, though.

Oh brother...

I was kidding :0

Also I have to ask a similar question that I did with registeel...why no love for Umbreon? I swear that is going to make a comeback because toxic and Mean Look plus a baton pass mean Hippowdon is trapped and dies while you send in Azelf to set up 3 Nasty Plots and sweep.

Well it obviously isn't that easy but umbreon is a monster and it saddens me nobody uses it. so anybody have a cool novelty Umbreon set? I know and use the standard so I don't want to hear about it >.>

Oh, my bad! It's hard to tell on the Internet.

Umbreon @ Leftovers; Synchronize
Impish; 252 HP, 160 Defense, 98 Special Defense
Faint Attack
Toxic
Mean Look
Baton Pass

Would that work?

Skarmbliss and Cress wall your entire team. gengar is the only thing that even has a chance at beating Cress and it can't even switch in to its STAB move. Even when Gengar does come in Blissey can just soak up shadow ball.

Cress walls your entire physical attacking core as well, especially the sleep talker variant that laughs at Breloom's spore and sleep talks an Ice Beam or STAB psychic in Breloom's face.

Your team also can't do anything to Dusknoir, again besides Gengar who gets smashed by shadow Sneak and with Blissey to help it (most Dusknoirs have Blissey with them) you will be walled again.

As for sweepers, Gyarados sets up on your entire team nad Forry has to blow up to kill it.

Mixed Infernape can 6-0 your team very easily and your team also has a lot of trouble with Swampert. Garchomp smashes everything and Gengar can only revenge kill it, and if Scarfchomp shows up it's gg.

MixMence also creams your entire team, again except for Gengar who can only revenge kill. That's just inviting weavile to come in.

Also forms of Lucario batter your entire team and eat it like a little kid eating cookie dough.

Really, Gengar is your ONLY means of special attacking, is very fragile, and gets crushed by Weavile. something tells me you're going to have a very hard time with anything that can take physical attacks the minute gengar dies. and A LOT kills Gengar.

Even though I don't exactly agree with your very "clever" first line, I do however think that the rest of what your said is useful information. I already thought of those things giving me trouble, but I just wanted to make sure by asking on here since although I'm not new to competative battling in general, I'm however new to playing on Wi-Fi and there for, actually getting into the true Pokemon metagame.

Keep in mind that this isn't my actual team, this is basically a team I came up with using what I've seen other people use. I'm gonna try and come up with something more original keeping your oh so "kind" advice in mind.

Its not really novelty. It's pretty much the standard ToxiTrap aside from Faint Attack.

Curse + Payback is a little stretch to Umbreon. It works nicely and counters many opponents. Though I'm not sure that would fall under novelty, as a few other trainers do use it.

Don't start getting snippy at all. He was absolutely right. We don't owe you, or anyone else on this site a thing. It isn't our responsibility to help. As such, we don't have to if don''t feel like it. Some questions we either don't feel like answering, and some questions aren't worth answering. Also, some questions are put in the wrong format. Such as that. You would have gotten alot more responses if it had it's own thread. So complaining that we are ignoring you is completly rude, and guarenteed not to get you help next time. Sarcasm only hurts your case, especially since he was the only one who helped.

If you feel we were ignoring you on purpose, then gently repost your question with a quote. Acting as if we get paid to help. This is not our jobs, this isn't customer service, so we aren't required to do anything. We help who we want, when we feel like it. and mouthing off that we aren't getting to you, our "special customer" doesn't give us the motivation to help.

This goes to all complaining that we don't help fast enough.

I'm just asking for peoples opinions on the team as a whole not just individual things in it and I know it looks solid, but I'm sure there's something wrong with it. Is it good, or do I need to fix it? It's that simple people. Thanks for your help...(and yes, I changed the team a little from the original post.)

This sort of rudeness isn't tolerated. And it won't give you much help, as if we are meant too. We're annoying you? Too bad. Just remind & repost, and do it as if you are asking us for a favor, not as an impatient customer. If it was that simple, do it yourself. But your asking US for help, right? If you reposted multiple times, the question isn't worth answering.

Me and him already cleared up everything. You really taught me a lesson though. OMG I feel so bad now...actually now that I think about it, I never really needed anyones help in the first place, so thanks anyway and if it isn't "tolerated" then what's going to happen to me? Will I be punished?

So you just wasted time to be immature, then? Acting like a big pouting baby cause you didn't get your way when you wanted it? If you didn't need help, why post multiple times, then? And if you posted mutiple times, the post wasn't worth replying too.

Gero's-rookie February 27th, 2008 7:07 PM

airconditioning February 27th, 2008 7:12 PM

If you don't EV train, then this team has no hope of ever being able to battle competitively, I'm sorry to say.

Also, Sneasel can evolve. So go do that.

sims796 February 27th, 2008 7:13 PM

You seem to be a rookie. Well, I would advise you to have a look at this thread:

http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?p=3351965#post3351965

Read through it, it should help.

You would get alot more personal help if you'd make your own thread.

Anti February 27th, 2008 7:38 PM

I guess Umbreon's movepool is a little lacking to be asking for novelty stuff from anyways. Though Faint Attack is a little too novelty.

Also everything I say isn't supposed to be a flame or insult. Really Squallion you should have kept this to PM >.>

Gero's-rookie February 27th, 2008 7:40 PM

yea i am a rookie hey and thanks sims796.

any ways airconditioning i meant i haven't ev trained yet. i am i just need the right move sets to do so. btw i am playing leaf green

Uderstandable, but oversold. Some users are that afraid of Taunt. And if (it'll happen sooner or later) Umbreon is stuck as the last poke, it'll need some method of fighting back.

But no matter what you do, you fall if Umbreon is your final poke. it needs EV's in ATK, and we KNOW that isn't gonna happen. So no wasting moveslots for an ATK. If it's the last poke, either Toxistall or Struggle.

Oh. Whoops. Forget about the Sneasel thing, then. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v634/Gamerman/Image%20Macros/yelwacko.gif

Anyway, Leaf Green is completely different from DP, so I can't help much. But really, you should make your own thread.

sims796 February 27th, 2008 7:45 PM

And when you do, mention that it is LeafGreen. Not that it'll help, people doesn't pay attention, but Anti-Pop will help.

Gero's-rookie February 27th, 2008 7:51 PM

ok so you think people will actually help if i make a thread, because i dont wont to waste time

sims796 February 27th, 2008 7:55 PM

If we can, we will. But this is basically a whole team. No need to post in a place for different kinds of help.

Threads are generally well-responded to, or at least, more so than in this thread. Just ask Squallion of what he thinks of this thread. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v634/Gamerman/Image%20Macros/yelwacko.gif

Gero's-rookie February 27th, 2008 7:59 PM

When you act nice & patient, the same response occurs.

Well standard Umbreon has taunt to taunt other taunt users switching in to taunt umbreon. What a tongue twister :P

And you'd have to misuse Umby to have it as your last pokemon, and even if it could attack it wouldn't be doing any damage unless you ran a full Curse set which is still not a huge threat.

Also Struggle > Hyper Beam at least :P

Also I'd like a standard moveset for stnadard Mixed vire please, I'm currently working on a litytle experiment and I need Mixvire hehe

sims796 February 27th, 2008 9:59 PM

Look on Smogon. Sans EV spread :P

Anti February 27th, 2008 10:04 PM

Well my computer has been acting up as of tonight and I can't access smogon. I don't use it much and the one dang time I need it :/

Well this is what I know:

Vire @ Life Orb / Expert Belt
Motor Drive
EVs: lol wut
Mild Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Flamethrower
- Cross Chop

Or, that's what I think I know. I have no experience really with Mixed Vire or Electivire in general as far as the field of team rating oges so my knowledge of EVs are like Bush's knowledge of Global Warming hehe

sims796 February 27th, 2008 10:11 PM

I think the standard run Ice Punch over HP. But I REALLY don't remember.
