SP.DEF:19
SPD:6

Hidden Power: Ice, 70

Awesome ATK & SP.ATK, beautiful Hidden Power, offset by an awful speed. Still, I saw some potential. Any help on a set?

You almost got it as bad as me with my Yanmega. :( 4 31 IV's, and a 4 in speed. A FOUR. UGH.

Almost as bad. Key difference is that Quill can have alternatives, but Mega NEEDS max speed. Poor Mega. Plus, YOU can rebreed. Mine is shiny, but I can't.

SilencedShooter March 3rd, 2008 3:13 PM

What are good movesets/nature/ev spreads for Electabuzz, Mr. Mime, and Aerodactyl?

Umm, I'm also interested in using a team that has the combo of smeargle and an attacker.

Deoxys55 March 3rd, 2008 4:48 PM

Um... this isn't exactly a request per se, but it's the best place to put this aside from making a new thread. =P

I just got some lovely shiny Zangooses, two of which I've been thinking of starting to EV train. One's Jolly and the other's Adamant. Neither have very good IVs since they were caught in the wild, but here they are:

Adamant
HP: 0 - 3
Att: 20, 25
Def: 8 - 13
SpA: 19 - 25
SpD: 19 - 24
Speed: 15 - 19

Jolly
HP: 10 - 15
Att: 9 - 14
Def: 3 - 7
SpA: 30
SpD: 8 - 13
Speed: 4 - 8

And that's from MetalKid's calculator. My question is, which one would be better? Or would they even be worth training at all? I think the Adamant one has a better chance with its Attack and Speed IVs, but... I know close to nothing about this. XP

Azonic March 3rd, 2008 4:54 PM

I'd suggest you rebreed for IVs. But if you can't, use the first one.

Anti March 3rd, 2008 5:00 PM

The first one is okay, and is probably your best option. Honestly you'll probably want to rebreed though.

Deoxys55 March 3rd, 2008 5:03 PM

Yeah, if I could I'd certainly rebreed. I was just curious as to whether either was usable as it is, since breeding for shinies, yet alone shinies with decent IVs, can be quite tedious. xP Thanks for this input, I'll have to think about it...

Loto March 3rd, 2008 5:15 PM

I would say don't breed for shinnies and just breed for IV's. ;p

sims796 March 3rd, 2008 5:22 PM

I need to know the EV's for a ScarfTyphlosion set:

[email protected] Scarf
Nature:Modest
EV: 252 SP.ATK, 108 ATK, 148 SPD
Eruption
Flamethrower
Fous Punch
Hidden Power [ICE]

Are the EV's good for that? It only has 6 IV's in Speed, and it's Shiny, so no rebreeding.

airconditioning March 3rd, 2008 5:42 PM

Hey, I'm planning on getting a Deoxys on my Emerald soon (AR an Aurora Ticket- cheating, I know, but semilegit is better than nothing), and I was wondering which Deoxys I should go with. Part of me leans toward Attack Deoxys, part of me leans toward Defense Deoxys, and part of me leans toward Speed Deoxys (since I can use him in OU). Which should I go for, and what's a good set?

sims796 March 3rd, 2008 5:45 PM

Ya do know you are able to change em, right?

Anti March 3rd, 2008 5:58 PM

Well yeah but the EVs and nature would vary.

Attack Deoxys is unstoppable. It plows over like, everything. That being said Defense Deoxys is THE Pressure staller wall and it's really very good. also a tremendous spiker.

Azonic March 3rd, 2008 5:59 PM

Only if its in Diamond and Pearl, you're able to freely swap forms.

I like the Attack Deoxys the best. Its pretty much unstoppable. Defense Deoxys is meh, it doesn't have the HP.

sims796 March 3rd, 2008 6:00 PM

I get it, my bad.

Personally, I'd go defensive. It's the n00b killing poke we all want.

airconditioning March 3rd, 2008 6:08 PM

Bleh, I still can't decide... well, does Deoxys Speed work well in OU? Like I said, I've been considering him, but only because he's OU. And I don't want to waste my one Deoxys on a Poke that winds up sucking.

Azonic March 3rd, 2008 6:19 PM

No, it doesn't. I've KO'd it numerous times with Shadow Sneak.

Well, just to be safe, I think I'll go with a Deoxys with a Rash nature- that way, it can be used for Attack and Speed forms. Just in case.

But, just for the heck of it, what would be a good set for Deoxys-D? I've heard that someone here had a really good Pressure stall set, but I never saw it.

Blargtastic808 March 3rd, 2008 10:35 PM

I just caught my Azelf with Timid nature. Should I go with the standard nastyplot sweeper set? And if I do would that be a decent way to start off the match?

Oh and I just checked my IVs. Very sexy.

Hp 17 / Atk 27 / Def 1 / Sp Atk 31 / Sp Def 30 / Speed 31

Pretty damn awesome :D

Angelic Diablo March 4th, 2008 1:15 AM

I need a bit of help working out the EVs for my Nidoking.

[email protected] Orb
Mild Nature
EVs: ?
-Earthquake
-Megahorn
-Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam

I'm never quite sure how to go EVwise with a mixed sweeper.

That is one awesome Azelf, Hidden power steel 66 ouch lol

My Azelf : - 27 / 6 / 26 / 30 / 26 / 30 @Timid Nature & Hidden power Fighting 70.

I only got this cus i spent the best part of 7 months Soft resetting for it as im an Azelf fanatic =p, out of all the stuff ive ever bred for or soft re-setted for this pwns them all, even makes my quad flawless Jolly DD t-tar look mediocre lol.

Anyways, i find Azelf better late game, Weavile and Choice Band T-Tar are common leads and Pursuit rapes him=( So make sure Weavile or T-Tar are out of the way before attempting a sweep, thats what scares me, pursuit and it is the reason ive never used this guy on wifi. You can focus sash him as a lead but Sandstream being common messes that up, especially t-tar.

Anyways your basic set is : -

[email protected] Orb / Leftovers / Expert Belt
Timid Nature
40 HP / 252 SP.ATT / 216 Speed
- Nasty Plot
- Psychic
- Flamethrower
- Hidden power Fighting Grass Knot.

You can but T-Bolt in that last slot or even Taunt, which beat up Gyarados and Togekiss more and stop Blissey from paralyzing you respectively. However, Grass Knot helps to cover Tyranitar and will OHKO after a boost and really helps with Bulky waters, Swampert etc..

216 Speed evs (352) puts you ahead of max speed timid gengar.

40 HP lets you survive a Pursuit from Choice Band Jolly weavile should you not switch out.

themuffinbandit March 4th, 2008 8:51 AM

uhhh... hey this is where i request a team right? so i was wanting to make a sunny day team. i honestly have no idea what to put in it or how to set up evs and stuff. right now, i threw together a bunch of random stuff and im trying it out on shoddy. heres what it is...
sceptile(physical)
arcanine(physical)
typhlosion(special unscarfed)
starmie(special and rapid spinner)
tangrowth(sub seed tank)
blissey(sunny dayer and special tank)

I was hoping you guys could give me some better pokes to put in the team or some movesets for them for that matter.

SteSean March 11th, 2008 12:05 PM

Okay, I need help with a set for Cradily. Most likely will have a Ninjask with Baton Pass and Swords dance with it.

FourFourTwo March 11th, 2008 3:39 PM

Oh my God, I just hatched the most beautiful Vulpix ever.

Modest 31 / 31 / 31 / 31 / 14 / 31
Hidden Power Type is 'Steel'. Hidden Power Power is 70.

I didn't know it was possible to get 5 perfect IVs... I was just aiming for a 31 in speed and special attack with 2 different Ninetails

Best part is it was bred with energy ball.

What should its moveset be?
