yeah, T-Spikes is from the move tutor.

Try the trade center maybe for heart scales ?

Archer May 7th, 2008 7:54 AM

Yeah, people in the trade threads here seem to be generous and if it helps, I seem to find them in the corners of the screen.

I see a lot of custom EV spreads for Tentacruel around the net. Is there any particular threat the Defensive EVs are there to counter? I just usually use 252 HP/252 SDef, otherwise it's too fragile.

It helps cushion Mixapes Close Combat etc.

El Gofre May 7th, 2008 11:04 AM

Hi all, hows this for UU gimmick from hell:
[email protected] Scarf
Timid, Serene Grace
252SpAtt/252SpAtt/6HP
Charge Beam
Water Pulse
Flamethrower
Acient Power

So yeah, charge beam+Serene Grace= Guarenteed stat-up. It's like a calm mind boost and an attack rolled into one. Scarf and timid allows for an acceptable speed of around 350, and after two charge beams you have a SpAtt stat of over 500. Water pulse ruins ground type's days, and flamethrower ruins grass types who ruin both attacks.

So yeah, its gimmicky, but at all viable?

luke May 7th, 2008 11:37 AM

Except with Scarf, you're limited to one attack. If you using Charge Beam and a ground-type comes in, you have to switch.

El Gofre May 7th, 2008 11:40 AM

Yeah that goes without saying. It just opens up his options a bit more. I just went a bit hyper when i realised garenteed charge boosts and didnt think of the rest of the set :P

Crystal Shaymin May 7th, 2008 2:10 PM

i need a infernape set, nature and ev spread. smogon says jolly, but i got an adamant one with thunderpunch. anything i can user it for, or breed for jolly?

Lalapizzame May 7th, 2008 4:00 PM

I'm currently using this moveset on Azelf:
Thunderbolt
Grass Knot
Psychic
Nasty Plot
I'm thinking of using Flamethrower but I don't know what to replace.Help? :(

Anti May 7th, 2008 4:27 PM

Thunderbolt for sure. You need Psychic for STAB and Grass Knot to drill Tar and whatnot. Flamethrower over Thunderbolt is your best bet.

Thunderbolt is not too great on Azelf, it only lets you hit Gyarados and Togekiss harder really.

So Flamethrower >> T-BOlt

Hidden power Fighting is nice >> Grass Knot, so Heatran doesnt completely wall you, but if you cant get it, Grass Knot is cool.

Wow. Sorry, but this one's not gonna make it. You can't really use an adamant Venusaur, and the moveset is totally shot. Plus, the EVs are all messed up.

woooooohooooooooooooo May 8th, 2008 4:23 PM

my crystal team... for now

Alakazam L20
-fire punch
-kinesis
-confusion
-ice punch
Alright i know im going to keep
him he's a very powerful psychic type
so i just need suggestions on
moveset probably

Quagsire L20
-mud slap
-water gun
-slam
-tail whip
So far with him
im thinking on also leaving him and
teaching him blizzard and earthquake and some good water attack
and rain dance maybe advice?

Zubat L16
-leech life
-supersonic
-bite
I MIGHT keep him and get him to evolve to a crobat
and im having trouble on a moveset for this one
some advice also maybe?

Elekid L17
-quick attack
-thunder punch
-leer
-light screen
Alright i know for sure im keeping him he's just the best electric pokemon in my opinion im going to set him up with ice punch
and thunderbolt too
other attacks i dont know

for my fire pokemon im thinking
of maybe arcanine or magmar?

and for a 6th pokemon idk =\

comment your opinions and see if itll help?

Lalapizzame May 8th, 2008 5:38 PM

First of all, Solarbeam is a bad option on Venusaur, even if you are using it with Sunny Day support, because Sand Streamers like Tyranitar are going to ruin your fun.

That said, i'll try to think of a physical attacking Venusaur set:

Venusaur @ Leftovers / Life Orb
Adamant
94 HP/252 Attack/236 Speed
Swords Dance
Earthquake
Return
Sleep Powder/Petal Dance/Synthesis

236 Speed is for no-speed base 100s. The loss of physical Sludge Bomb hurt Venusaur hard, reducing its offensive movepool to about Earthquake and Return. Petal Dance is vastly inferior due to base 90 power and the amount of Grass resistors in the game.
Sleep Powder is recommended, Petal Dance is almost suicide, Synthesis is screwed over by Sandstorm.

also

your signature with steve irwin is offensive

The Beast May 9th, 2008 4:30 AM

Alright thanks for the Venasaur, now for my Blastoise.

Blastoise @ Leftovers
Adamant
Aqua Tail
Skull Bash
Rain Dance
Hydro Pump
EV's: 6 HP/252 ATK/252 SPD

Dude, you can't just watch me pull crappy movesets out of my hat right? =/

Blastoise @ Choice Band
Adamant, 64 HP/252 Attack/192 Speed

Waterfall
Ice Punch/Avalanche
Earthquake
Aqua Jet/Rock Slide/Body Slam/Return

Aqua Jet is illegal with Ice Punch.

Unlimited NiGHTS May 9th, 2008 7:24 AM

I was inspired by a thread I recently posted on, and want to try out a fun, yet powerful, team that uses ONLY the following Pokémon.

Blaziken
Glaceon
Snorlax
Blastoise
Beautifly
Venusaur

Feel free to let loose.

El Gofre May 9th, 2008 7:55 AM

Beautifly and powerful don't really fit in the same sentence. The thng sucks tbh.

[email protected]
252Att/252Spd/6HP
Flare Blitz
Agility
Earthquake
StoneEdge
Another poke that isnt that great. Infernape kicks its ass tbh. It's not fast enough to sweep on its own so agility is nice.

Except that May doesn't have an Infernape. Stick to the Pokémon I listed.

It's a team for fun, but I still want it to be as powerful as it can be. That's what I meant, at least.

El Gofre May 9th, 2008 8:13 AM

Ok, since there's no standard set for it (As far as i know) I'll try and salvage something from the disaster that is beautify:

[email protected] Scarf
Modest
252SpAtt/252Spd/6HP
HP Fire
Bug Buzz
Shadow Ball
Energy Ball
Choice scarf allows it to do something before it's inevitably KOed. This is about all it can do tbh. I dont recommend using this in competetive enviroments, it will get laughed at. Still, that's the best I could come up with.

It'll work, if you don't make me use Hidden Power (breeding for it is so damn hard). This isn't really a serious team, after all.

What of the other five? I was thinking of Brave Bird for Blaziken, so we can kill Infernape...Then again, are any of those Pokémon OU?
