ok, i got a bold cresselia.

it has these iv's:
Cresselia - #488 (Bold)
HP: 22 - 23
Att: 28 - 29
Def: 4 - 5
SpA: 12 - 13
SpD: 29
Speed: 12 - 13

all mainly good, except for defense. so, can i get a set for it?

what do you mean all mainly good O.o. the only good iv's are attack and Sdef. the rest are really bad, with an exception of HP. Hp is alright, but not that great.
i wouldn't use this cresselia if i were you.

if you really wanted to you can just use any old set.

maybe a standard set.

Cresselia @ Leftovers
Modest/Bold
20Hp/252Def/236SAtk
-Refelct
-Rest / Moonlight
-Charge Beam
-Ice Beam

eh i don't know.

Valarauca May 11th, 2008 12:00 AM

Is this any good?

Spec sweeper

Typhlsion @ leftovers
modest
Ev:252hp/252spa/4sp
-flamethrower
-eruption/focus blast
-solarbeam
-sunnyday

Note: I think i shouldn't be so heavy on the fire, but i like the sunny day and solarbeam combo on a fire pokemon

LethalTexture May 11th, 2008 12:09 AM

Try this:

Typhlosion @ Choice Scarf
Modest Nature
EVs: 252 Sp. Atk/252 Speed/6 HP

- Eruption
- Solarbeam
- Focus Blast
- Flamethrower/HP Ice

This guy will be more effective if you get another, more defencively-orientated Pokémon to set the sun for you. Choice Scarf makes it quite fast, and the last slot is down to preference, whether you want more coverage or more longevity. I'd go Flamethrower for another STAB move if your HP is low.

Valarauca May 11th, 2008 12:51 AM

I kind of wanted to keep sunny day because it raise eruptions base power to 225, and weaknes water attacks.. Maybe he won't be a sweeper just a random addition

Aquilae May 11th, 2008 12:58 AM

Sunnybeamers in OU suck in general, and a Sunny Day Typhlosion is no exception. It does not have an easily exploitable trait that can be used in the sun (read: Chlorophyll), that gives it a speed boost which would allow it to outrun and KO other pokemon. It also is screwed up by random Sandstreamers/Abomasnow, and Heatran walls a set like there's no tommorow.

Solarbeam is automatically useless outside of Sunny Day, and without STAB and a crappy attacking type, you won't be hurting much. In Sandstream, Solarbeam takes 2 turns to charge which is a huge disadvantage.

Go with ScarfTyphlosion, easily the best set for it, although I would recommend Mild/Rash and 144 attack EVs, Focus Punch > Focus Blast, for Blissey (2HKO).

Solarbeam is not a viable choice for the reasons I listed above, but Typhlosion doesn't have many options anyway. I would put the secondary Fire move > Solarbeam, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Overheat or Will-O-Wisp.
The last slot should be HP Ice, or if you fear Heatran that much Earthquake.

Which is why I said you should get another Pokémon to set up Sunny Day for you ;D

umbros May 11th, 2008 9:10 AM

Agreed with getting something else to set up Sunny Day for you. Even if you leave Sunny Day on the Typhlosion, you're forgetting that something's probably gonna hit you before you get a chance to hit them with Eruption. Then Eruption's strength will be lowered quite a bit, with or without the sun.

sims796 May 11th, 2008 9:38 AM

Which brings up the question.

What are good Sunny Day starters? In OU, I mean. Including UU that can strive outr=side thier enviornment. I think Thick Fat pokes, like Grumpig & Snorlax, would do well. But what fast pokemon can start it?

In one word, Moltres. Moltres can abuse Sunny Day and laugh even at our friend Blissey (thogh I imagine with SDef EVs that becomes harder). I guess Entei would work...lol

Crystal Shaymin May 11th, 2008 3:38 PM

alright. i am using a trick room team, but i don't know any sp. attackers that can be usd on one. any ideas? and sets for them?

Angelic Diablo May 11th, 2008 4:13 PM

I'd still go with something like a Gengar for the special sweeper... with Trick Room only lasting 5 turns (4 if you don't include the set up turn then switching to appropriate poke) then you might as well have a fast sweeper for the times TR isn't running

Archer May 11th, 2008 4:26 PM

Trick Room Special Attacker: Slowking w/ Nasty Plot.

Crystal Shaymin May 11th, 2008 4:38 PM

slowking? sounds good. may i have a set for it?

Valarauca May 11th, 2008 4:44 PM

Ok I reworked typhlosion to get this

Typhlosion @ left overs
-flamethrower
-eruption
-roar
-focus blast

Crystal Shaymin May 11th, 2008 4:59 PM

i think i have a set for this trick room sweeper:

[email protected]
modest nature(+sp. attack -attack)
ev's: 212 HP / 44 Def / 252 SpA
~trick room
~ice beam
~surf
~nasty plot

alright, leftovers for healing, maybe slack off over trick room...
didn't realize slowking had such low speed, so i switched to modest nature

Lalapizzame May 11th, 2008 5:29 PM

I'm using Smogon's Calm Mind Jirachi on Smogon and I want to ask.Should I use Thunderbolt or HP Fighting on Jirachi?

Archer May 11th, 2008 6:04 PM

I should mention that Thunder over Thunderbolt will get a 60% Paralysis rate.

quite would be better than modest. but modest could work.

umbros May 12th, 2008 8:50 AM

[email protected] Orb / Wise Glasses / Leftovers
252 SP.ATT / 252 SPEED / 6 HP
Timid Nature
- Metal Sound
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden power Ice / Hidden power Grass
- Roost

Crystal Shaymin May 12th, 2008 1:52 PM

@ kirio, i know quiet is better, but slowking has low spede already, so i don't think i need to drop it further ^_^

sims796 May 12th, 2008 6:37 PM

I'm not paying attention to the whole convo, shinylegends, but if there is a useless stat, feel free to drop it. Speed is one of the most univeral stats there is. If it is too slow (Base 45 or below) it isn't ever gonna outrun anything important. Thusfor, it is in everyone's best intrest--especially Slowbro/King--if you drop the speed.

Aquilae May 12th, 2008 10:19 PM

Slowking @ Leftovers
Quiet, 212 HP/44 Def/252 SpA (0 Speed IV)
Surf
Ice Beam / HP Electric / Grass Knot
Nasty Plot
Slack Off

Slowking is not a good TR setupper, and should be used for sweeping. 0 speed IV ensures you go first in Trick Room no matter what, you may want to run 7 to beat Bronzong (0 speed IV -nature).

Sexycheese May 12th, 2008 11:32 PM

Hi could someone rate this set please

Rayquaza
Jolly nature
item: should i use persim berry for confusion or leftovers.......
Dragon dance
Outrage
Overheat
Earthquake

thanks

ABYAY May 13th, 2008 7:24 AM

I don't see anything wrong with that set; Use Life Orb for maximum damage dealt, of if you fear that an ice move will drop you, use Yache berry. If you have being burned or paralyzed during setup, Lum Berry will work too. Otherwise, you're good to go. If you want even more damage, try out Adamant and go 252atk/252spd/6sp.def (not 6 HP, seeing as that'll give you an even number divisible by 4, pending if you have perfect HP IVs.). Otherwise go Jolly with 252atk/224spd/32HP.
