Thanks for the aself movesets!
Does anyone know a moveset for mesprit cause I am not sure of this one....

Leftovers
68 HP / 252 SAtk / 190 Spd
Modest Nature
-Psychic
-Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam
-Calm Mind

Thanks in advance :)

devilicious June 9th, 2008 1:28 AM

Modest 190 Spd gets Azelf to 313, which is not a good number. Go with a pure 252/252 set so at least you're faster then Zapdos, Celebi, Salamence, Gengar, etc. A +Spd Nature with 220 Spd would still be best, however.

And Azelf is too fragile to use Calm Mind. Use Nasty Plot.

About the hold item, Leftovers might not be a good idea. Life Orb and Expert Belt are better choices for this set.

I would recommend Flamethrower and/or Grass Knot for better coverage, but Boltbeaming is not all that bad. Just a matter of personal preference.

Err... sorry I wanted a move set for mesprit, I already got one for aslef thanks anyway though

Oh. Your post had the name "Azelf" in there and it confused me. :B

Then, go with either 180 or 194 Speed.
194 Speed lets you outspeed every Tyranitar, while 180 puts you just above Breloom and friends. I recommend 180.

Otherwise, that's fine.

SmashBrony June 9th, 2008 3:06 AM

I'd like the best 6 combimation of these pokemon:
Blissey
Metagross
Heatran
Tyranitar
Heracross
Ninjask
Skarmory
Forretress
Magnezone
Dugtrio
Weavile
Shedinja
Garchomp
Scizor
Jirachi
Bronzong
I was hoping for a team that's good in both the standrad & uber battles...this is a list of the pokemon that's allowed in the standrad that's also used in the ubers...
My team is probaly better off without the ones that needs weather support, so I have shorten down the list a little bit...I may have dropped a few pokemon...I think salamence may be also a standrad used in the ubers, for example...I figured a well-balanced team would look like this:
Psyically defensive
Psyical sweeper (here, I'm thinking bout Garchomp)
Specially defensive (here, I'm gonna use Blissey)
Special sweeper
I don't know what the last 2 would be...I'd like to know...I'll help along if I can...

Aquilae June 9th, 2008 3:18 AM

Standard and Uber battling differ greatly, in terms of metagame and playing style. Ubers is essentially an unbalanced, overcentralised metagame in which prediction and choice of pokemon plays a vital role, and it is extremely difficult to attempt to wall many of the Uber pokemon simply because of their absurdly high stats and movepool.

That, and I can't imagine a player excelling at Ubers without even using the wide variety of Uber pokemon.

Ok....I'll still make a team of pokemon that are used in uber battles that are also allowed in the standrad field, it'll just have to stick to standrad battleing..

There are less than six Pokemon that meet that criteria. Please, if you're going to play in Uber battles, USE UBERS.

What are some sets for Milotic and Gliscor?

devilicious June 9th, 2008 2:28 PM

Depends on what you want to use them for. You can always check the 'standard' sets on Smogon, too.

Deoxys55 June 9th, 2008 5:12 PM

What are some good moves for timid Special Sweeper Deoxys (speed form)? Also, what item should I attach?
I'm thinking Calm Mind is a must, and Psychic, maybe.

Azonic June 9th, 2008 5:17 PM

Deoxys-S @ Life Orb
Trait: Pressure
Nature: Hasty
EVs: 160 Atk / 252 SpA / 96 Spe
- Psychic / Fire Punch
- Thunderbolt
- Icebeam
- Superpower

Well, it has no future trying to be a Special Sweeper and I can imagine something else doing it better though I'll try to give you one:
[email protected] Orb
Superpower
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
Shadow Ball/Psychic

Don't really have space for Calm Mind since then you'll lose the ability to KO something. Superpower deals with the Queen of Special Walling Blissey while Ice Beam and Thunderbolt deals with Gyarados and the Dragons. Shadow Ball provides excellent coverage combined with Superpower although has low power and won't KO anything so Psychic hits Gengar and should KO it.
EDIT: Clade, you beat me. =]

Magmortified June 9th, 2008 5:20 PM

Clade pretty much got it down. Do not, however, forget the option of Psycho Boost. Deoxys-S loves high-base power moves. Plus, it tends to switch a lot, anyhow.

Aquilae June 9th, 2008 5:36 PM

Actually I find Psycho Boost to be a misrepresentation of Deoxys' strengths and somewhat veering from its job as a revenge-killer. The -2 SpA matters a lot when you are staying in to clean up the opposition, and the marginal boost by Psycho Boost may actually be detrimental to your job as a revenge-killer.

To tell the truth I'm just looking for interesting Pikachu physical set (to surprise opponents and to just to use Light Ball) and for Golduck (because I like him, special sweeper). That's basically for UU, but if they could work for OU, it would be good to hear. Also if someone has any other idea for any interesting set with this pokemon, I would be glad to hear it anyway. And maybe any idea for Drifblim ? But not Subs Baton Passing, please. Cheers and thx for help.

El Gofre June 9th, 2008 10:57 PM

I use the following physial pikachu:
[email protected] Ball
Adamant
252Att/252Spd/6HP
Thunderpunch
Brick Break/Focus Punch
Return
Agility

Indeed, light ball makes its attacks powerful but I think phisical pikachu dosent work very well and Ifind riachu to be a safer alternative so here is a set for special riachu....

Choice Specs
6 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Mild Nature
-Thunderbolt
-Hidden Power [Ice]
-Grass Knot/Surf
-Focus Punch

Surf may not be viable though as you need pkmon battle revolution to get it. defence is bad but at least riachu can take a hit!

If you insist on Phicical pikachu try this set!

Light Ball (Obviosly)
6 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature
-Thunderpunch
-Brick Break
-Focus punch/
-Substitute (may as well try to take a hit)

Pikachu doesnt really work as phisical sweeper though.

Matt-O June 10th, 2008 5:29 AM

I've seen a couple of Deoxys sets that recommend Hasty nature. Can Naive work as well or is there some specific threat that you need that little bit of Sp.Def to overcome?

Do you mean Deoxys Speed Form, because there are many different forms.

It shouldn't matter, but I suppose it's there to take the random special attacks, although naive should be fine, it usually goes down by a OHKO or 2HKO anyway.

Matt-O June 10th, 2008 5:39 AM

That's what I thought, I was just wondering.

Personally I dont like deoxys as its hp is too low. So that is a huge weakness right from the word go.

sims796 June 10th, 2008 5:58 AM

Lyulf, what you've said is wrong, on both Raichu, Pikachu, AND Deoxys.

Choice Specs is viable, but Nasty Plot is better, being allowed to charge moves on the switch. However, Raichu is not better than Pikachu because he can take a hit, he is not MEANT to take a hit.

Same with Pikachu. He is NOT meant to take a hit, so to even use that as a bad point against him is a bit wacky. Same with giving him Substitute. Do you get mad at a gun because it can't stab people?

And that goes for Deoxys. Is Blissey bad because she has bad Def? No, right? To use her for walling Hera is stupid. Now, Deoxys is all about revenge killing, nont surviving a hit.

That said, Raichu can take a sp.hit or two.

I know, mabey its me being picky but I like my pokemon to be able to do good defending, attacking and be good all round. I dont like settling one job on one pokemon as if they down say....your phisical sweeper you are screwed when blissy comes out, better to be balanced on all fronts.
