Need Help with Claydol.

Hey guys.

I was planning to use a claydol in my party as a rapid spinner.

This is the moveset im using

Claydol @ leftovers
Relaxed
Ev's?
-Earth Power
-Psychic
-Rapid Spin
-Explosion

But i don't know any good ev spreads for this set.

Angelic Diablo December 30th, 2007 3:40 AM

252 HP, 144 Def, 114 Sp Def

May I also suggest that you switch Earth Power for Earthquake, Claydol isn't designed to really attack so might as well go for the stronger option

Kirioroshi December 30th, 2007 5:09 AM

Hm..Thanks.

I'll guess i have to use that Tm26.

Dark Azelf December 30th, 2007 6:11 AM

252 HP / 108 Def / 96 S.Atk / 52 S.Def

Theres also that ev spread if your going special. ^ It needs some evs in attack or sp.att or it does nothing apart from being set up fodder.

Dont put explosion on it or Dusknoir, Spiritomb and even Mismagius will come in and lol, put Ice beam, Stealth Rock, Reflect, Light Screen or Toxic there.

Ice beam is so Dragons wont go: "lol set up fodder".

Stealth Rock, Reflect and light Screen are for team support.

Toxic helps wear down Spiritomb and Dusknoir who also come into block rapid spin, just make sure they dont have a Heracross when using it.

Stealth Rock! i love that move. I also like Ice beam..

Hm. that Ev spread looks easier to train. Hm..i might use that ev spread, it gives my some S.atk aswell..

i'll look into it, thanks.

Do people really not see the big "Request a team/Individual moveset" topic at the top of the page?
:[

Max out Claydol's EVs in HP, enough EVs to hit 220 Sp. Atk/Atk, pour the rest in it's defenses.

Moveset is:

- Psychic/Ice Beam (Kills whatever threatens you most. Gengars that block Spins, or Dragons)
- Rapid Spin (Duh)
- Stealth Rock (Cause a spinner is cool when he can also set up SR.)
- Earthquake/Earth Power (Whichever. Earthquake for higher BP, Earth Power for the EVs you poured into S.Atk.)

Does it really matter if i use earthquake or earth power?

Well with Claydol its best to just go fully Special or fully Physical as its easier to ev it that way and you dont have to invest evs in both Attack and sp.att if you mix special with physical youll need to cut from its defenses which is bad.

Earth Power does more the Metagross whilst Earthquake will do more to T-tar.

Kirioroshi December 31st, 2007 8:36 AM

hm...i need an attack that can deal with T-Tar. So earthquake it is.

I thank everyone for helping and happy new year.

Put those 96 evs in attack then and Stone Edge in some where to deal with Weavile aswell.
