*sigh* NS2 is being slow, so I'll post it here

Togekiss @ Choice Band
Adamant
Hustle
252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 SpA
~ Extremespeed
~ Aerial Ace
~ Focus Punch
~ Flamethrower

Its a physical togekiss. Yes, I know, I know, this will phail, right? Think again. I've seen the damage calculations for Extremespeed, and it 2HKOs pretty much every minimum defense sweeper in OU (1HKO on alakazam). Flamethrower to ensure that the skarmory (or foretress) they send in after it dies. Focus punch for the obvious Blissey switch, and AA because its unaffected by Hustle. I might want to replace AA though....

Now, of course, using something like that is...suicidal? A death wish at best, in the standard metagame. Thus, I need support, status specifically, to break opposing sweepers down. My main choices are:

Gardevoir @ Leftovers
Bold/Modest
Trace
252 HP | 220 Defense | 32 Special Attack
~ Thunderbolt
~ Will-O-Wisp
~ Psychic
~ Wish

Something a friend of mine came up with and decided to share. Its really just a modified version of the original Gardevoir I had for this team, with different EV’s (so that it can kill Weavile), and Thunderbolt over Hypnosis, also to kill weavile and others. The point is simple, set up WoW, then attack, Wishing before I switch to ensure health for the next pokemon entering.

Jolteon @ Wise Glasses
Timid
Volt Absorb
252 Speed, 252 Special Attack, 6 HP
~ Thunder Wave
~ HP [Ground/Ice]
~ Shadow Ball
~ Thunder Bolt

Something random I came up with, so that it can take over special sweeping duties as Starmie spins everything away. Wise Glasses so that it gets a mild attack boost (life orb is stupid on it, and choice items are crap with t-wave). Standard nature/spread, t-wave for stat using, and the other moves to attack. Since it (hopefully) outspeeds electivire, I have HP Ground, but Ice may be more useful to counter dragons (>.> Garchomp). T-bolt and Shadow ball to attack.

Since both of my supporters’ accuracy on the status moves suck, I need a way to boost my accuracy. What else better than gravity? As an added bonus, it negates levitate and flying types’ immunity to ground. Guess what magnezone…

Dusknoir @ Leftovers
Impish
Pressure
252 HP | 180 Defense | 76 Special Defense
~ Gravity
~ Pain Split
~ Shadow Sneak
~ Thunder Punch/Fire Punch/Ice Punch

It’s a Dusknoir :O It seems pretty standard, with the twist of gravity to boost my accuracy. Pain split is to heal, and Shadow sneak is a fun way to screw with enemy sweepers. One of the punches helps cover other walls, etc. As a really great bonus, it resists rapid spin, so SR from Blissey will have to stay.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Timid
Natural Cure
172 HP / 120 SpA / 216 Spe
~ HP Ground
~ Rapid Spin
~ Recover
~ Surf

Well since I have gravity on the field, making levitate and flying type immunity useless, why not be able to kill Weezing (who kills Togekiss), and Bronzong (who’s just annoying period)? HP Ground goes around their usual defensive base, and the other moves come from the Spinner starmie set, which gives this another purpose in its (hopefully) long life. Since Jolteon has a more sweeper purpose, this will be more used for RS than attacks….

Blissey @ Leftovers
Bold
Natural Cure
252 Defense | 186 HP | 12 Speed | 60 Special Defense
~ Stealth Rocks
~ Wish
~ Toxic
~ Aromatherapy

The pokemon we all hate and love, blissey. SR gives me an extra edge, and, with gravity, completely runs over anything running sash, and gives at least 12.5% damage to everything else. There are never enough wishes, and so she has another wish to aid in supporting my team. Toxic is for annoyance, to kill walls, tanks, etc, anything that WoW Doesn’t hit or cover. It can also be used for messing with opposing physical sweepers who think I’ll aromatherapy. Finally, Aromatherapy for those who think they can out status my team. Now for the EVs… *sigh*. I really have no idea what to do with it, so I gave it 186 HP, to give it a total of 666 HP providing 0 Ivs (Yes, a demonic Blissey). 252 Defense so it won’t die, and 12 speed to outspeed skarmory (I did that calc so long ago I forgot whether it was for 0 IV, or 31 IV 0 EV skarmory…). That is providing that Bliss has 31 Speed IV’s though. Finally 60 Special Defense because I don’t have anywhere else to put the 60 spare EV’s.

Overall, its really just a gravity team, built to status the enemy, then hit hard with ground moves. Togekiss is there because its a fun thing I've been wanting to try. I posted this elsewhere (diff site), but no one's responding, and I don't feel like waiting. Thanks for all the help in advance.

P.S. Forgive me not having pictures, I have to have made 15 posts or more.

You do realise that you won't be able to use Flamethrower on any switch in's after you kill their first pokemon, as you would still be hitting them with your original move, thanks to your Choice Band

Focus Sash so this thing can lead your team

Since when does Gravity boost accuracy?? Will o Wisp helps it dual wall (provided you pump EVs into the special side

HP Ground ain't really going to be killing much, if you want something that can take advantage of Gravity (which I don't quite understand), and Rapid Spin. Use the Donphan

Impish Nature

Thunderwave does more for Blissey than Toxic would, mind you they both come with drawbacks, Toxic sees Heracross come tearing through everything in sight, where Thunderwave just hands Electivire an Energy Drink, neither of which are that fun

Also, I thought Wish Blissey couldn't use Aromatherapy, as Wish is an event only move and Aromatherapy is an egg move... so pick one move then I'll rate it, until then it's a hack and I won't touch it

Pictures do nothing but annoy

There are much better strats than Gravity, comments in the Bold Blue

Spiritombreeder December 30th, 2007 2:28 PM

Hm, I had wondered weather that was an illegal combination, I guess it is T_T *soft cry*

Gravity doesn't boost accuracy, per se, but lowers evasion by 1/3 (I think, I forgot exactly), which is the same as a 1/3 accuracy boost.

For togekiss' flamethrower, after Its to be used after I switch out from the first physical attack. If they're smart, they'll send in a physical wall (foretress or skarmory being the expected ones), thus I'll hit it with flamethrower. As for thunderwave, I like being able to annoy walls with poison, over slowing sweepers (don't know why though, Togekiss needs the speed ;D).
I cannot believe I forgot about focus sash :O *Is stupid*

Also, I just noticed I have 4 lefties.... >.> Even though I don't play by item clause people will be...annoyed ;D
I might use Donphan though.... hmmn.

I really only made this a gravity theme because it was the only thing I could find fun that can still support CB Kiss. This was meant to be my fun team after all....

Angelic Diablo December 30th, 2007 2:35 PM

Well I only dislike Gravity because it only lasts 5 turns, one of which you will be switching Dusknoir out to send another pokemon in

Toxic invites all steel types and guts abusers to walk all over you, Thunderwave is more an Electivire issue (Guts still activates, but they still have the chance of not attacking)

IMO, a 50% chance of not attacking is much better than slowly increasing passive damage

I thought it was 1/4? I'll take your suggestion I guess, T-wave it is.
