Theres a time and place for everything and it's called college

Lt. Surge's Raichu January 3rd, 2008 6:04 PM

I am not going to college. Gonna work as fast as i finish High School. Looking forward to get out of those classrooms. Gonna work on a school i think As an assistant i think!! :):)

Gοяκнaвоii January 3rd, 2008 6:06 PM

:-]
i'm gunnah go UNEEE :D
so i can go and be a psYcHIATRIST :D

Lt. Surge's Raichu January 3rd, 2008 6:08 PM

Yeah that was my thoughts too actually. Maybe i will go back and take college later in some years. But now i just gotta get out of that school

Ayano Katagiri January 3rd, 2008 6:09 PM

I hate how it's high-school in the US is called college here and then college = university. It gets so confusing when people start talking about it.

I've got two years of college high-school left, I can't believe it's gone by so quickly.

Lt. Surge's Raichu January 3rd, 2008 6:10 PM

Yeah, should be the same all over.
I mean university when i say college. Just to inform o_o

B-Baller January 3rd, 2008 7:10 PM

All this talk about university is making me scared of life...xD...I'm only Yr9 and that alone terrifies me...then as Pachirisu said, it gets even tougher in Yr11...*shudders*

I do plan on going to university to study music. I might change if I pick up a different interest in the next 5 years. I really want to be a pro basketball player but that's a bit far-fetched...xD

~Crystal Entei~ January 3rd, 2008 7:45 PM

I know this has absoulutely nothing to do with what you guys are talking about right now,but this is really getting on my nerves.I need some help with my signature, and I'm not sure if my question about it can be in this thread or the Computer/Technology thread.

doesn't matter January 3rd, 2008 8:02 PM

uhh, try the FAQ first, and if that doesn't help you out, post your inquiry in the Community Questions & Feedback section.

Anyway, I gots Uni starting at the end of Febuary. Well, I should check if I've gotten in, I think that information has been available for a few days now XD;;

Xairmo January 3rd, 2008 8:50 PM

is uni short for university?

Cherrim January 3rd, 2008 8:53 PM

Yep.

I'm in university now. I'm on a co-op term, so I should be working (but I haven't found a job yet XD). I don't go back to a school term until May.

Xairmo January 3rd, 2008 8:56 PM

Well i dont graduate high school until next year, and i might take a year off to earn money and wait for my friends to graduate

I'm thinking of doing that too, except going back for a semester to get some courses in I might need, or re-take a course to get my marks up so I can get in University or College or something.

Margot January 3rd, 2008 9:52 PM

My parents aren't letting me do that, taking a year off, I'm going straight to college after I graduate. We've already had this talk numerous times, even if it to make money they think if I take a year off I'll never end up going.

I guess it's fine, I'm seeing it their way now and I'm excited for going anyway :>

jluft8056 January 3rd, 2008 11:49 PM

like this... it's me john

snowy22 January 3rd, 2008 11:51 PM

yo dawg i am getting kind of tired so we can do this for 10 minutes

jluft8056 January 3rd, 2008 11:52 PM

heehee, that's what I'm afraid of doing myself, as even these past few months make it seem I will never continue my education ^^;

Some people like to travel and such. I suppose it's a good chance to, but nyeh, it's not really something I'd like to do.

My parents are the complete opposite :o

They want me to take a year off to work at a full time job to make up my own tuition... To UCF... Which is pretty frickin expensive. When they told me that I went 'LOLWUT??'

I know why too, they just don't wanna pay for it, but they put a "year of responsibility training" sticker on it, and call it a good thing XD

xiao January 4th, 2008 10:53 AM

its so hard for me to get up and go to uni every day. i don't have that feeling i had in high school when i knew even though i screw around i will make it. here is like... no feeling at all. i am completely lost.

I thought people liked uni but didnt like school not the other way around.

Xairmo January 4th, 2008 10:56 AM

I wish i could do uni at home >.<
im homeschooled now for high school but as far as i know there arent any homeschooling unis
i know thers like online classes but id hate that

xiao January 4th, 2008 10:58 AM

well in europe i know uni was much more free-like in past. now it's really tight. you need to make signatures to prove you've been to class and things like that. and im against all this crap. in high school i was still a bit like they could bend me, now i just fight against it. i know it's stupid. but they're stupid too. :s

I see.

I thought it was that free.

Signatures for class sounds dumb.

STEELIXMANIAC January 4th, 2008 11:09 AM

University sure has strict rules. =/

Although I think I'd probably defy a rule or time regularly since I have a habit of breaking school rules (sometimes).

Gοяκнaвоii January 4th, 2008 3:09 PM

:D i'm the worst kid eva xD
the teachers dont beleive i cud eva be a bad boi..
and mah first skool - chuked roks at principal's car
2nd school - burned a bin behind school/tagged/gotcaught
3rd school - completely bombed the toilets and its still going on >.<
i need to be a good boi 0:)

Improfane January 4th, 2008 3:22 PM

Gob, you are certainly member of one of the crappier groups of society. :)

Rebelling at school is only reinforcing what teachers (and parents) already know: Youth really are stupid and have a narrow understanding of the world around them.

..Whoa dude, I really doubt that everything you said there actually happened, and if it did, that you're able to be on a computer right now, and not currently in jail XD

Anyways, I'm only a freshman in highschool right now, so the idea of college hasen't really crossed my mind yet. Before anything, I'm worried about first having to pay for the school I want to by working my ass off (I just quite my job at CVS, passing out free samples, making minimum wage xD). I'm not someone who can really fall back on any scholarships, seeing as the ony think I do in my extra time run by the school is football, and none of my grades are..that great =/

Gοяκнaвоii January 4th, 2008 3:49 PM

:P dese are the conquenses i recieved:
Throwing rocks (i wuz only 10, and i wuz following other kids) parents had to pay the car fee, and i had 2 weeks detention... or sumthing like that in detentions..

Burning bin - It only got burnt witht the dried leaves i put in it, so yeah, me and about 4 other guys (smokers) got busted (btw, i dnt smoke... just pyro XD)

Tagging: had to paint the whole toilets white again as a diciplinary action >.<
after the painting.. i've only got homework problems since i didnt like painting the smelly toilers..

Burning a bin? Throwing rocks at cars?

You got off very cheaply.

Chibi-chan January 5th, 2008 6:26 AM

If you call that bad, I've never done anything bad. o.o
I'm always afraid of the consequences....

Eruption January 5th, 2008 6:33 AM

I wouldnt see the point in doing it anyway.

Except to look "cool" which still isnt really a reason.

Chibi-chan January 5th, 2008 7:38 AM

I'm sure it's fun in the moment, but really...
there are other fun things to do that aren't bad.

pink-tiger January 5th, 2008 6:43 PM

Like going to the movies!Going to six flags, mall ice skating etc. ^_^
Hehehe hello!!

The Infinite Devil Machine January 5th, 2008 7:09 PM

I'm only a freshman, so College isn't at the top of my priority list. My grades are fair(B's mostly but A's in History, English, Theatre) so I'm not that worried. I'd be getting higher grades but I'm lazy and don't apply myself in subjects that don't interest me. I'll be taking a year off before college to get some work experience.

I dont apply myself in subjects that dont interest me either.

There isnt really a point. It is better to get a career in something interesting.

Aden January 6th, 2008 7:03 AM

Hey everyone, what have all of you been up too lately?
I've been training my Pokemon on Pokemon Diamond/Pearl to get them into mint condition.

And I've also managed to purchase Pokemon Battle Revolution for the Wii.

Chibi-chan January 6th, 2008 7:21 AM

Congratulations on PBR!
I rented that for awhile...wasn't as good as I thought it would be.
I wish it had minigames...

Oni Link January 6th, 2008 8:29 AM

PBR really isn't what it should've been. If it wasn't for the DS connectability, there'd be nothing but tournaments with rented Pokemon, and that's really not that fun!

Eruption January 6th, 2008 11:51 AM

It is better than everyone is making out though.

Besides it is only a bonus game to D/P.

PB. January 6th, 2008 11:53 AM

Does PBR actually have a storyline or is it just a 3D battle arena?

Eruption January 6th, 2008 11:54 AM

3D Battle arena.

I think a storyline version wont be out for some time.

PB. January 6th, 2008 11:58 AM

I would have maybe gone to the effort to buy a Wii and the game if there was more too it that battles.

Obito. January 6th, 2008 12:47 PM

oh i thought it had story. arghh! i was saving up for that!!!

Yeah, to be honest I thought the same exact thing. o_o I mean with it being so popular I figured it actaully had some huge story line like most pokemon games do. D: That's quite a big rip off then. ;~;

PB. January 6th, 2008 1:21 PM

How much is it? because It sounds like it should be cheap because theres not much in it

Chibi-chan January 6th, 2008 1:52 PM

It's between $40-$50 dollars last time I checked.
Really, it's only a game you'd want to rent.

PB. January 6th, 2008 1:58 PM

Yeah, I sounds like it gets boring once your DP team have battled a bit.

Rageman January 6th, 2008 2:08 PM

Yes!
I'm getting a Party Pomeranian.
He's 7 weeks old, has brownish, blackish ears, and has a white coat.
His nose is black with a spot of pink on it. :)

Obito. January 6th, 2008 2:23 PM

it still looks really awesome

pink-tiger January 6th, 2008 3:54 PM

You guys are talking about a videogame,am I right? ^_^

Twinx January 6th, 2008 4:09 PM

Well, I played Stadium, but I always though that Colosseum and Gale of darkness would be better since they had a storyline... I never played them though.. What was so bad about them?

Shiraishi January 6th, 2008 4:10 PM

The story sucked, and the battles weren't very challenging unless you trying to snag something >_>

Twinx January 6th, 2008 4:13 PM

I heard Gale of Darkness had only Double Battles, is that true?
That would seem just too long and annoying...

Obito. January 6th, 2008 4:13 PM

now i wish i had an Nintendo 64 :(

Twinx January 6th, 2008 4:19 PM

I guess Nintendo knows that fans are gonna buy whatever they put on the market, so why bother working hard on it.. That suckss

EDIT: @Sam Smith: Is Stadium still available in the market? I don't think so..
anyway, it's always playable on PC...

Obito. January 6th, 2008 4:36 PM

its available on the PC??

Gοяκнaвоii January 6th, 2008 9:18 PM

yeah... but its illegal unless you delete it within 24 hours, or unless you own the actual game... :D

but no-one really listens to it...

[lie]But... I'm a good boi :D i listen to it [/lie]

Aden January 6th, 2008 10:06 PM

PBR isn't even that good.
All you can do is duke it out with random trainers.

I wonder if I can get a refund...

Gοяκнaвоii January 6th, 2008 10:45 PM

umm i think you can get a refund if you return it within 14 days to EB games.. that is... if you bought it from there...

but, if you really dont like it, and its past 14 days, just do a trade-in :D (EB games does dat)

Improfane January 7th, 2008 7:31 AM

Gob that is not true. Why are you propagating these lies? The whole 'you are allowed to keep 24 hours' is false. It's something made up by kids to make them feel better about leeching. I believe that admins wanted you to try a game ROM to see if you like it, then buy it. How many do you think actually do that?

I do. It's legal to create copies of media for backup purposes as that constitutes 'fair use'. As soon as you start downloading ROMs you do not even own - and keeping them, you are being cheap.

PB. January 7th, 2008 7:45 AM

I think you have 28 Days normally, Don't you?

After ready this it has helped me decide to not get PBR

And dress up your trainer.

PBR is a great game IMO.

STEELIXMANIAC January 7th, 2008 9:39 AM

However, people go for gameplay and entertainment value. PBR lacks greatly in those departments. That's why it is deemed a poor game.

Not much pokemon popularity over here.

There normally in places like London which I can't get to very easily

Eruption January 7th, 2008 10:10 AM

I was amazed that one of the Mew events was in Middlesbrough.

I saw it and went

Kylie-chan January 7th, 2008 10:15 AM

Yeah, well, Nintendo rarely ever come to Australia; they'd never to come to my hick town, either, and never anywhere within driving distance. My life sucks orz D:

Obito. January 7th, 2008 10:21 AM

It needs to get popular again. :(

PB. January 7th, 2008 10:21 AM

Its one of those things where you either make the effort to go to the big city or you wont get a Mew or whatever it was. Although Im sure once at GAME they were iving away Manaphy eggs

Obito. January 7th, 2008 10:27 AM

It wouldn't hurt to advertise more. That could make it popular again.

Kylie-chan January 7th, 2008 11:29 AM

Face it -- Pokémon is old-school. And that is why it will always have a cult following; but it won't really attract too many new fans.

Cherrim January 7th, 2008 11:39 AM

It attracts new fans. It's just... all those fans are like 6 years old so they don't pay any mind to special events because they never hear about them. >>;

B-Baller January 7th, 2008 11:39 AM

I've asked a lot of people and they all say Pokemon was good. Until they all get to my age and we all start getting into sports and girls and the like. xD

There are a couple of us in my old school that still liked Pokemon...too bad I won't ever see them again. xD

pink-tiger January 7th, 2008 12:38 PM

WAS? ^_^
Hehehe I guess some people may not like their current voices. Like oen of my friends says Ash's voice has change and Jesse's etc.
I still think its good.

Kylie-chan January 7th, 2008 12:56 PM

It wasn't that Pokémon changed -- it's ever-unchanging, except the VAs and stuff -- but that your friends outgrew it.

Whatever. I'll be forty and still here, whining about the 4084th Pokémon.

Also, Erica: I know it attracts new fans, but I don't count six-year-olds. I was six when I started, after all.

Gοяκнaвоii January 7th, 2008 12:59 PM

yeah... Even though its finally getting a bit more realistic, and more suitable for older people then before (well, i see that diamond pearl is more suited for older people, then kanto was) like, their pokemon battles are also having alot of logic involved, and a lot of practicing and thinking (like dawn's spin in the air to avoid attacks, which ash coped of her)

its just little things that i seem to notice xD

and yeah... i hate it how Nintendo see australia as a no-events land... esp since its most 10 year olds that would go there :(

Obito. January 7th, 2008 12:59 PM

I really hate the voices at the moment. Thats why i won't ever watch season 9 or 10.

Kylie-chan January 7th, 2008 1:09 PM

Well, the show kinda sucks, because it's so formulaic. It doesn't really entertain me now I'm older and don't watch TV. ^^

Gοяκнaвоii January 7th, 2008 1:15 PM

lol i watch it when my sister puts it on, but other then tat.. its the phone or PC for me.. and i suddenly dont like games anymore either o.O xD

Cherrim January 7th, 2008 1:15 PM

I'm buying the boxsets as they come out for the nostalgia, but I can't bring myself to watch Pokémon on TV anymore. It doesn't capture my interest very well. It's so... repetitive. D: I heard it got better with D/P though.

Gοяκнaвоii January 7th, 2008 1:19 PM

yeah.. D/P seems to be trying to get its old fans back... while trying to teach kids about how to be smart with pokemon o.O

but i think the number of fans its got rite now... is still a fair amount after the electric porygon thing that cause mass seizures around japan.

Twinx January 7th, 2008 1:20 PM

Ya, the fillers are a lot better now, but the VAs are getting worse.
And what's up with that disturbing opening??

Obito. January 7th, 2008 1:28 PM

Hmmm. maybe i should start watching D/P, XD

Twinx January 7th, 2008 1:40 PM

Shouldn't the dubbed version of Movie 10 should be out by now? Does it usually take them a lot of time to dub the movies?

Kylie-chan January 7th, 2008 2:00 PM

The D/P theme song is so awesome that I feel unworthy when I hear it.

Obito. January 7th, 2008 2:34 PM

I think that's probably the problem, people want something new and original.

Aden January 7th, 2008 2:44 PM

Movie 10 should be a great sucess, but to the unexpected crowd.
It's most likely that older children (Preferably teens) will want to watch the movie over and above the supposed "6 year olds"

Why? that answer is simple, Teenagers have been following the plot from Kanto through to Sinnoh, so it means that they'd understand it more throughfully.

While as younger veiwers might not even know what the charactors ment, or there standing amoung us.

I hope I explained it well.

Shiraishi January 7th, 2008 2:46 PM

I have movie 10 on DVD(My mom went to Japan at a convenient time O_o) it keeps the annoying tradition going >_> Definitely not something to get hyped about

Aden January 7th, 2008 2:48 PM

You mean the old smack about Team Rocket tradition?

Gοяκнaвоii January 7th, 2008 2:54 PM

yeah... I just hate the new opening... but its addictive..
yuu people mean the english one rite?
lol i was in class.. singing it... every1's staring at me >.<
like...
"its all abt the challenges..
a brand new game in a brand new world.."
yeah..
blergh crap :[
Team rocket was 'extint' in hoenn.. in the game.. but noo, the dumb producers have to put them in hoenn...
and why in sinnoh?
i mean, jesse being a good contest gurl is allrite... but like...
ash lends her his aipom, and later on, he doesnt know who she is..
and their disguises... i'm suprised they fall for something so simple o.O

Aden January 7th, 2008 2:57 PM

They should've ditched Team Rocket back in Kanto when Giovanni got slaughtered by Ash.
Instead of having Team Rocket, maybe introduce Gary back into the series? and not as a Scientest, as a rival.

Gοяκнaвоii January 7th, 2008 3:17 PM

no, even though team rocket is boring and repetive, it helps the little kids have their moments.
If anything, gary should stay a scientist, but in a new series, he should be the main professor (instead of oak, rowan, elm, birch), well, he will be OAK, but he will be the G. Oak xD

Team rocket should give ash more challlenges though... they're too easy... and JMJ should get a promo for giving in 'caught' pokemon to Giovanni... i mean.. he wouldnt know if they caught it or not

Aden January 7th, 2008 3:27 PM

Maybe Team Rocket could add a new member to there flock?

B-Baller January 7th, 2008 3:30 PM

Man, I don't know what you guys are talking about, xD. I stopped watching Pokemon after a quarter of the way through Hoenn, so I must be missing heaps of details. xD

Team Rocket had their moments...adding someone new would be...un-traditional? xD

I really need to keep with with Pokemon...
