What is my Turtwig doing?

Most of the time before my Turtwig attacks, it sort of bounces twice, then a gold ring comes out around it. I makes a weird pumping sound for each 'bounce' and a little ping for the ring. It's not holding an item or anything.

Could it be because it's at lv. 39? I don't want it to evolve.

Can anyone tell me what this is, what causes it, and how to make it go away?

Thanks!

that is really really wierd.... the 2 bouces your turtwig does is normal its a d/p animation and the gold ring must mean its shiny. The chance of getting a shiny is higher than 8000... Your very lucky. However must of the time when a pokemon is shiny a blue or silver ring goes around it... hmmm. Very interesting. A ring shouldnt make go around it everytime it attacks though. Where did you get the turtwig from?

MissMegano January 3rd, 2008 6:34 PM

Thanks for replying! Turtwig was my starter when I started the game. I'm certain it's not shiny, though. (I wish I wish I wish.) My Piplup did this too on my other game. Bouncing was kinda of the wrong description. It's hard to describe. I'll try to put up a video if I can figure it out. I've never done one before.

Is it holding the item Quick Claw?

zaussome January 3rd, 2008 6:49 PM

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

A shiny would have a blue ring of stars. Well, I never had a young pokemon up to a high level before so I don't know if it "bounces" for evolution.. I think it is most likely Quick Claw's animation but you said you didn't have it holding an item so.. Glitch?

Happiness, I wouldn't think so. None of my pokemon shake.. :/

Well, I've got the video. Although I doubt it, Quick Claw could be what it is. I didn't think it was holding anything....

I remember my Piplup doing this exact same thing, and I'm certain I never gave it Quick Claw.

Oh! It Looks like it's healing itself with some sort of berry, Or item. I had pokemon holding berries and they did that same thing.

Yuoaman January 3rd, 2008 10:10 PM

Could it be leftovers? I don't really know, though it must be an item...

Goldenhammerhead January 3rd, 2008 11:11 PM

that just signalled it is using its item.......quick claw?

Karonte January 4th, 2008 12:22 AM

Its an item most probabaly quick claw.

Virgil Hunter January 4th, 2008 1:42 AM

i think it eather quick claw or some berry/Leftovers

kakarot January 4th, 2008 1:52 AM

My Scizor makes the same movement using it's Quick Claw.

MissMegano January 4th, 2008 5:01 AM

Oh sorry, guys! I checked and it is holding Quick Claw. >.<

But it still doesn't explain why Piplup did the same thing. I always had him hold Miracle water. Does Miracle Water do the same thing?

No, I think you'd notice the different colours (As subtle as they are) plus its a different anim.

Plus its already been said its a quick claw about 17 times. Read through before answering.
