Anyways... Ranger is not a Major Pokémon game...

And let me repeat this. What would make people think its a spin off when
1. The announcement for a game is on TV. The first ever time they go through that and its a spin off?
2. All the hype. Sure it could be paid for acting but hell they get to have the fun not a magazine for the first time.
3. 2 easels. Not 1, not 3, 2.
So yeah this has to be major.

It's super effective...

Oh my god why everyone thinks it will be a Ranger game...
It won't be any Ranger, MD, Dash or Trozei game...
Why? Because Junichi Masuda is not involved in those games and it is predicted that he will be there to announce the game...
That's it.

Poliwagged used Sar-Casm!
IT'S A ONE-HIT KO!

I like to keep an air of negativity around me so I don't get majorly disappointed and go into a fit of hulk-rage if it's not G/S.

A bit of speculation by good ol Mitchman over here. Junichi's blog.
http://www.gamefreak.co.jp/blog/dir_english/?p=181
He hints us at looking forward to play a new game of theirs a few days before this major game announcement announcement preview. He also goes to us I promise that I will work frantically in the future as well. He obviously has something up his sleeve for not working in platinum and want to work frantically.

The description says:
"NEW PREVIEW from POKEMONSUNDAY. POKEMON GOLD and SILVER for DS REMAKE. FULL ANNOUNCEMENT MAY10th."

Looks pretty real...

Charlie.

Nope. It's fake. It uses a Fan remix of the G/S/C Gym battle theme. You'll find the very remix here:

Alex Lucard should be legit. He works for Beckett Pokemon Collector. Same mag that said Pokemon Platinum back in 07. So who is to say. People who can confirm it seem bust in this chaos but it could be true. Ah the internet. Humanity's only source of insanity.

I am confused how can someone not say it is a new game if it was said in the annoucement that it was?

Mitchman May 6th, 2009 1:06 PM

No idea what so ever. Anyway people doubt well people like Alex Lucard who confirmed it is 2 games and most likely GS remakes. I have one question. Why would he risk his job at Beckett Pokemon Collector to start internet hype?

Because he's hyped over the G/S remakes too?

*Shot*

When your entire economic status is based on writing for a magazine and that alone its not much unless the company of the game gives you a little bonus. To make such accusations could make him lose said economic status and all. When money is in the equation no one is so idiotic to start rumors on the net.

The Wave May 6th, 2009 1:13 PM

Meh, maybe, but I don't believe anything from the internet unless it's from official/101% trustable sources.

Mitchman May 6th, 2009 1:15 PM

Whatever I could just be over exaggerating cause I want it to be real. :p
But yeah losing credibility for a mag is bad news. And uh they brought up platinum in 07 so who the hell knows? http://pokebeach.com/news/1107/pokemon-platinum.jpg
I laughed at this at first and then said holy crap they could be gods at doing this or something.

Haza May 6th, 2009 1:28 PM

The fact that he has worked with Beckett confirms it to me. I used to buy every issue of that magazine an saw the article saying Pokemon Platinum long before it was ever announced when it would be released. They got 2 games U.S. release times correct then and now about 2 weeks ago he said we will find out about GS remakes on the exact day that we have speculated? Its obvious that he is in the know, but they just need to stop telling him stuff. XD

Mitchman May 6th, 2009 1:29 PM

Seriously. I bet sooner or later he can say when the 5th gen will come.

GunSaberSeraph May 6th, 2009 1:35 PM

That man is a witch isn't he?

Anyways, if the G/S/C remake rumor is true then I'll do an LP of Crystal in celebration.

Haza May 6th, 2009 1:38 PM

He is not a witch, he just knows these things due to his two jobs in the Pokemon franchise. I really with I could work with Pokemon. He totally told us that it is GSDS but its called something else and he erased the possibilities of it being a spin off. We are getting 2 games and he is acting like they are awesome as hell. I am so excited.

Mitchman May 6th, 2009 1:39 PM

He is a very good one at that. Anyway I have without a shadow of a doubt this will be otherwise. And so this won't be repeat number 600 the game in my opinion will be amazing if not perfect. 2 games and its gsds but the names arent those names. So anything with dusk and dawn is gone. Day night? Kid I do.

Haza May 6th, 2009 1:41 PM

I wonder if he has gotten in trouble for releasing this information?

Mitchman May 6th, 2009 1:43 PM

I doubt it. He says these thing at a whim in the most unlikely situations and they come true. That is called being stealthy.

Zackraa May 6th, 2009 2:10 PM

I hope the kanto region is left out of this game it seriously made the whole game bland and what I mean is that all of the johto gym leaders were low in level in order for the kanto gym leaders to be at an average playing level without going overboard which dulled the entire game down to the point that you can beat the entire game with just Feraligatr and yeah I went through the entire game with just Feraligatr he was lv. 100 by the time I had reached mt. silver to fight Red took down the entire team with the moveset "Hydro Pump, Earthquake, Ice Punch and Bite" had to have been the single easiest game I've ever played and at the same time one of the longest

Flex_S May 6th, 2009 2:21 PM

Look who's viewing this topic....

Anyway, I think the games will be called:

Pocket Monsters Light Gold and Pocket Monsters Dark Silver

I think it will be something to do with day and night, (Light, Dark) cause you know the main menu for Gold, is Ho-Oh flying in the day time, and silver is Lugia at Night. And also Ho-Oh, is guardian of skies (Light) and Lugia is Guardian of the seas (Dark).

dutchmuffin77 May 6th, 2009 3:39 PM

you're probably right Flex_S.

Xenart May 6th, 2009 3:43 PM

If its a G/S remake I'll get it. If its not I'm still going to get the game.

Unless its a stupid pokemon game like Pokemon Dash. (Which probably won't be it because its said to be a major pokemon game)

Lucard May 6th, 2009 3:54 PM

Hey there. A couple people emailed me this thread and even though I try not to comment on Poke fansites for professional reason, I figured I probably should this one time - especially since the topic has turned to me specifically.

1. I write a few articles every month for Beckett's Pokemon magazine, but it's not my day job and Beckett is not my employer. I'm friends with two of the current editors and both the current VA for Brock and I attended one of the editor's weddings a while back. Not together. We just both happened to know her IRL before any of us did anything Pokemon related. Wacky coincidence.

2. Yes I leaked Pokemon Platinum in the mag a few years back but I do want to state I had permission to mention it, and in fact was asked to do so specifically to create a buzz. I never say anything news-related unless I'm asked to or have permission. I like not being a hobo after all. :-)

3. Just because I have advance knowledge doesn't mean that either I or that knowledge is always correct. One example is a piece I did on PBR. Because there is about a two to three month gap between an article being written and being published, a few english localizations changed and so some names were off. Not a big deal, as the content, guide, and strategies were all correct, but it's just proof that I don't bat 1.000.

As well, sometimes advance knowledge and having products in my possession can be a bad thing. For example, I did two or three articles on the Groundbreakers set for the Trading Figure game. I had permission, I recieved all the pieces, and I went to town. Guess what still has yet to be released to the general public? Whoops. That was a literally last minute change of plans on that end of the Pokemon franchise. Sure, the articles are still valid and will be helpful if you ever get those pieces, but it's still a bit weird to have written about something that never actually was released, you know?

All I'm saying is having faith in what I write is just as valid as being very skeptical of what I write. Especially as there is always someone out there spreading falsehoods or making fake footage in the Pokemon communities.

4. I'm not a witch and I can prove it for I do not weigh the same as a duck. I have been accused of being a vampire before though, but this too is also a falsehood.

So if we want we can believe you while we should be skeptical on what you say? Also are you sure you're not made out of wood? ;) I got the reference.
