When catching a pokemon!
Do a press a sequence of buttons?
E.g: When i catch a pokemon, As soon as the pokeball hits the pokemon i Quickly hit A and ^ (up). How about you? Btw sorry if this is in the wrong section. I couldn't find A good place to put it. Stop Argueing: I am not saying that this will effect the catching rate of the pokemon. I'm only saying do yo have a habbit of doing this, This thread is turning into a consistant arguement. |
Erm no, I used to believe holding A+B with a premier ball did something until my friend hacked the game and checked the probability for buttons and so on. So now i know im wasting my time I conduct my ritual from when i was 10; throw ball at legendry, close eyes, count to 5, open eyes :)
|
No because every Pokemon has a catch rate and holding a sequence of buttons is pointless because it doesn't affect the rate.
I admit that I used to do it in the older games when I don't know anything about catch rates but not anymore. |
Mismaguis is only asking if you do use a sequence of buttons not if they alter the rate.
I usually spam my buttons while catching something. ;o |
Pushing A as soon as the pokéball hits the Pokémons head works for me but it might be different with other copies of the games due to version numbers.
|
No i don't, but i read somewhere that if you use your stylus and draw around the pokeball on the bottom screen just as the pokemon enters the ball thrown at it that it improves the catch rate but i never tried it.
|
No sequence of buttons or stylus movements do anything to it, so I just turn off the volume, close the DS, and wait for a few seconds in hope that I caught it. Drove me crazy with Croagunk.
|
I normally use Down/Up/Left/Right and A when trying to catch a pokemon however at this moment all I do now is leave it and do something else aswell as catching the pokemon.
|
"POKEBALL GO!"
I say that in the mic. dunno why |
I usually mute the volume completely and simultaneously press A. It's nothing special, but it raises my hopes just a tad.
|
well there is no way to do it you just throw the pokeball and hope it catches it. Although when i got emerald and when catching legendaries i used to throw a ultra ball run out of the room wait 5 secs run back in. it never worked.
|
I used to press A while trying to catch...
I remember one time, a friend of mine tried many rituals... including full volume, throw under couch O_o... Miracle that method got it |
I know it's pointless, and have always known, but when I was little, I always turned the volume completely down. Since then, I still maintain one ritual -- I press A and B simultaneously when I release the ball. I know it's ineffective; I feel incredibly twitchy if I don't, though.
|
i know this does nothing >.<
but i close the DS, count to 3... Open it again, and LISTEN (not look) at/to the music... whether i caught it or not xD |
I used to press the A button right when I threw a Pokeball but then I read somewhere on Pokemon. com that you can't change anything by pressing a button. You won't get a higher catch rate or anything like that.
|
I realise it does nothing, but I just constantly press A and tap the touchscreen while waiting for the Pokemon to be caught..
|
well when i throw the pokeball i hold down b while its in the air and right about when it hits the pokemon head i hold down a it works for me XD
but its probably just luck oh and i say gotcha in the mic too =] |
I look away from my DS and pretend not to care at all... and just slowly press one button... though if I do think about catching a Pokémon, it seems to not be as caught easily.
Like, if I ignore it... I'm able to catch the Pokémon with a weaker pokéball than if I looked at the screen. It does really work. XD -got my only two current legendaries with ultra balls and that method- |

'Do a press a sequence of buttons?'
? is A a variable? I just keep pressing A because i think D/P is soo slow and pressing A i hope it would speed things up. I think catching a Pokemon is all based on Mathematical outcomes, like most things in the real world. otherwise there would be only one pokeball in pokemon games. |
Lmao..I use to always hold down the A button everytime it would shake...then again when I was like 6 I would Tilt the game when my HP was going down to see if the HP would just stop going down xD..its sad what kids do isnt it?
|
i just keep tapping A, thats what i did in older games and i still do =)
|
Well,
yes and no.. Back when i battled Dialga, all my Pokemon lost, yes, xD And Dialgas was with orange/yellow life, and i only had a level-very-low HM slave Machop (or was it a Geodude >.<) back.. So i throwed the first (and only i think .. cant remember |D; ) Ultra Ball at Dialga.. And i just .. clicked at every bottom 8D Not because it helped anything (i think o.o), but because i know it would broke the Ultra Ball and then destroy my little HM slave xD But .. well.. No.. I catch it XD .. Yay.. *remember old days with Mewtwo in a PokeBall* - Nicku |
Up + B ftw! It always seems when I'm not buttons that I have a hole in my heart. I swear to god though, it only works if I'm doing Up + B.
I've been doing that sine the first day Red and Blue came out. It's just been my pain 'poke'habit. ._. |
I never found a reason to press buttons, so no, I don't press any buttons when catching a pokemon.
