A little ev training... for myself

Hey ya'll. I'd like to start by sayig that this post has entirely to do with some EV tips. I'm not sure if this goes in Strategies & movesets so to any moderator, feel free to move it.
Anyways. I'm trying to raise an Adamant Garchomp into a 252/252 set but I've ran into a problem. At level 71, according to Marriland, an Adamant Garchomp has a max speed of 215. Mine had 198 at level 70. I attached a Power Anklet on it and went down to the trophy garden to fight some Staravias/Pikachus/Pichus. Obviously you know how long it would take a level 70 pokemon to level up fighting levl 17s and 18s. Anyways after about 3 days of fighting those things, I leveled up and figured that I'm going to get like 6-8 speed evs. But after fighting almost 100 of those pests, supposedly getting 2 for each one, I only went up 2. With the power anklet attached! How does that happen? ANd look please if you're response has to do with IVs please don't simply put "it's probably because you have bad IVs". I don't even know how to measure IVs, and [I] tried to learn. Half the stuff that you need to find out I don't even know jhow to. So anyway, why did this happen? Please tell me.

Not really no. All I know is it's somethign that comes from the second they come into the game (egg or wild.).

To find out your IVs you use a *gasp* IV calculator. Make sure you fill out your EVs.

Iv's Range from 0 to 31. The max stat is based with the Iv of 31 and the min is based with the Iv of 0. So 215 Speed means that you have 31 Iv' in speed and max Ev's in Speed.

So pretty much, are you telling me that at this point my speed can not go any higher? because EV training sucks and at this point although I'd hate to start training it all over again, I'd have to because it wouldn't be able to even outrun a Salamence

that does me no good because I don't know how many Effort points I've put into it. the only thing that helps me find out my IVs is that it is "highly curious"

Btw Ev's don't have effects on your stat straight away.

If you have max Speed Ev's on your garchomp and your speed isn't 215, it means your speed Iv's for Garchomp isn't flawless(31). So you will not have the highest stat possible in the end.
That is why people breed for Flawless iv's in their desired stat, so they can have the highest stat possible in the end.

heres a tip , keep track of your ev's , and try to find pokerus in a trade thread . once you do this your ev training will be cut in half and when you r done with the ev spread use rare candy then start all over again , it reduces time by ALOT.
