Deoxys [E] Speed [email protected] Life Orb
Hasty Nature
252 SP.ATT / 96 SPEED / 160 ATT
- Super Power
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Psycho Boost / Grass Knot

Welcome the newest addition to the OU tier and standard play, as of a few days ago.

My mixed sweeper

This is a beast of a lead and after a whole day of soft re-setting ughhh..... i have a good one with flawless speed, woot, i wanted Naive, but hasty is workable.

96 Speed allows it to reach 462 speed, thats more than enough.

Super Power is capable of 2hkoing Blissey if it does more than 65% damage at any point. Ohkos Weavile, T-tar etc, Bolt Beam takes out Gyarados, bulky waters, Dragons, Ground types etc.

[email protected]
Bold Nature
148 hp / 104 sp.att / 252 def / 6 sp.def.
Trait : Natural Cure
- Ice Beam
- Seismic Toss
- Aromatherapy
- Softboiled

Standard-ness of a sp.wall. Ice Beam to hit Garchomp switch ins and bulky ground types who switch in predicting a thunderwave, lets face it i dont need t-wave support really with deoxys lol

[email protected] Orb
Jolly Nature
252 ATT / 240 speed / 16 HP
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Fire Fang
- Swords Dance

Bread and butter Garchomp set. My Mid/late game sweeper Fire Fang >> Fire Blast as it does more after a swords dance boost.

[email protected] Shell
252 HP / 196 DEF / 60 ATT.
Impish nature
- Brave Bird
- Whirlwind
- Stealth Rock
- Roost

my physical wall.

[email protected]
Careful nature
252 hp / 76 def / 180 sp.def
- Will-o-wisp
- Thunderpunch
- Shadow Sneak
- Pain Split

dual wall-ness. and to stop Electivire rape.

[email protected]hoice Band
Adamant Nature
252 ATT / 60 HP / 196 SPEED
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

CB tar, Revenge killer and idiot Smasher lol Every team should have one XD

Awesome coverage and smashes stuff that is stubborn, for example Cressy and Dusknoir.

Any Suggestions and weaknesses i may have missed?

Azonic January 18th, 2008 5:37 PM

Deoxys is OU!? Did I miss something? O_o;

Watch out for Electivire, it kills off every NON-UBER pokemon on your team. Watch out for GyaraVire too.

And some status effects would do this team some good.

luke January 18th, 2008 5:39 PM

Only Deoxys's Speed Form is OU now. The others are still Uber.

Yeah i might put in a ghost or something like dusknoir >> Starmie.

Yes Deoxys, only its speed form, for now is OU after being tested on shoddy. Smogon are allowing it in tourneys aswell.

Do that. That way you can use the FAR SUPERIOR spikes over SR. 25% damage is nothing to laugh at, and with SR it's downright impossible to stop.

SR is better =p

- spikes are now in so i cant get them rapid spinned away so easily now i have dusknoir..
- Added dusknoir.

Anti January 18th, 2008 5:52 PM

Spikes inflicts more damage on anything not named Charizard or Moltres basically. Without a ghost they're tough to set up, but with one they are pretty much superior as they inflict more damage.

SR is utter fail compared to spikes. The best thing is to have both though...but really, spikes does more damage to everything but flyers (so if you fear those, SR me to detah, but otherwise spikes is teh pwnz0rz over SR)

w00t

I'd go psycho for the last slot...you might as well give that puppy choice specs while you're at it, Unless superpower loses too much power.

Spikes is there now anyways.... ;p

Yeah superpower does ass to blissey unfortunately without Life Orb =[

I look a bit to physical, i might drop T-Tar or Chomp for a sp.sweeper *Tries to think of something but its too late and cant think efficiently*

Stealth Rock vs. Spikes

Stealth Rock is very useful for one reason; it only requires one layer to fully set up. Spikes takes 3. It also hits fliers and levitators, ridding of a Sash Gengar, which I've seen run a decent bit. Also, Articuno, Yanmega, Charizard, and Moltres are all severely damaged by it, making switch ins much unpreferred. However, Lucario, Steelix, and many types just laugh at the minor damage. Regardless, it's guaranteed damage, ridding of any Focus Sashes.

Spikes is general damage to everything that's not flying or levitating. 1/8 to 1/4 damage? Nice chunk there.

As you can see, SR hits everything, but Spikes generally hits better. They're both even in my opinion.

Speed Deoxys... Gonna be a hard time for me. Can't believe it's in OU now instead of Uber, but I can see why.

Keeping a Rash/Naughty/Naive T-Tar for mix can work for you if you don't wanna fully switch.

Samson January 18th, 2008 7:17 PM

deoxys ou. that's exciting. i can't wait to KO one.

Iceman3k January 18th, 2008 7:35 PM

Wait a damn minute, who in the burning red fires of hell made Deoxys part of the OU Metagame?!
Jesus, I'm glad I'm retiring.

I need Help on the last slot as its mainly a filler, Psycho Boost will give me a huge STAB boost on his mediocre offenses, Psychic is my most reliable move, Shadow Ball takes out Cressy and Dusknoir
I can't comment on Deoxys until my fictional internet attorney is present.

I still don't think it's fast enough to outrun the common Speed Sweepers. I'd say Scarf it with Adamant.

Probably should be more of a wrecking ball (as in more HP) since it lacks the speed to efficiently run Choice Band.

Awesome coverage and smashes stuff that is stubborn, for example Cressy and Dusknoir.

Can't think of any weaknesses since Deoxys already kills them all :x

Syaoran January 18th, 2008 7:52 PM

I knew that Shoddy allows it, but now Smogon too? Wow, things are going downhill. *waits patiently for people to start abusing bulky Deoxys and then realize it's not OU material!!*

Stealth Rock is much better than Spikes IMO. It hits anything, thus ruining all Focus Sash users.

Team looks ok. Standard and boring.

flamehaze94 January 18th, 2008 8:19 PM

Spikes>Stealth Rock imo. Spikes overall does more consistant damage, and while people have the fear of Stealth Rock, they will limit their rock weaknesses, thus it won't be as effectuve.

Smogon has always been gay, so Deoxys-E to OU isn't much of a change in pace, actually.

And the team is pretty heavily walled by Swampert ;[

sims796 January 18th, 2008 8:47 PM

Iy's the ability to hit Focus Sashers is what makes Stealth Rock a favorite. I have bad luck with Mence leads, as I usually have problems predicting which it is. It is almost always Sashed.

Dark Azelf January 19th, 2008 4:38 AM

Damn, Swampert, i may shove Grass Knot >> Psycho Boost or T-Bolt on Deoxys

Errm, oh yeah, Smogon is allowing Deoxys S in tourneys and stuff.

Its base stats arent impressive, if it cant hit anything for super effective then its not really a threat

Base stats.

50 95 90 95 90 180

Not really too threatening eh lol ? Its just its stupid movepool and speed thats the main problem (It even has a great support movepool, how the hell can it learn spikes and Knock Off thats what i want to know o_0). Scarf users beware XD

Thanks for the input guys.

If you like Dark_Azelf, I have a Deoxys that I'm not gonna be using that you may be interested in.

Deoxys
Timid
100
252 Sp. Atk, 104 Spd, 152 Atk

29 / 31 / 30 / 31 / 31 / 31

Psycho Boost
Super Power
Knock Off
Thunderbolt

I don't need it, but if you want it, go right ahead.

Regards,

~T_S

If Deoxys is Paralyzed or knocked out, SD Weavile can tear through you. :(

Skarm walls Weavile easily, even with 2 swords dances. I have Aromatherapy on Blissey mainly for Deoxys to prevent it from getting statused.

@Syaoran, Bulky Deoxys, you mean that pressure stall set ?

[email protected]
Timid Nature
252 HP / 96 SPEED / 80 DEF /80 SP.DEF
Trait : pressure
- Cosmic Power
- Taunt / Seismic Toss / Toxic / Spikes
- Substitute
- Recover

This sets not even funny, a guy posted a battle log where this Pressure outstalled a Spiritomb, WITH Shadow Ball and Rest =/ After a few Cosmic Powers its subs become unbreakable, which sucks the game of its fun.

Im not using this set though.

Anyways, anything else need changing or i could of missed ?

Ársa January 19th, 2008 6:34 AM

o.0, I must have overlooked Skarm, it can still be a problem, but you should take it down pretty easy me thinks. ;)

Regards,

~T_S
