EV Training

I spend a majority of my time on the trade portion of my site and I was just wondering about IV's training. What is IV training I know its super stat building. Is it just superior breeding power leveling and a lot of stat building items?

Iv and Ev aare two different things

Sorry about bad grammer in this post

Iv's:values given at birth to a pokemon max iv in a stat is 31 it is near impossible to get a legit poke with max iv's in every stat. They determine how fast it will gain stats
for an Iv calculator type this in the address bar http://www.serebii.net/games/iv-calcdp.shtml

Ev's: values given to pokemon that are set into the game pokemon can have a max of 3 Ev kinds but essentially they are for raising the pokemon's skills eg. Gastly has 1 sp att Ev and all other Gastly's in the game will also have 1 sp att Ev

Ev's are very very helpful but there is a limit you may gain 255 Evs per stat on the pokemon you are raising total of 1530 Evs altogether. For every 4 evs a pokemon gain it will grow 1 point in that stat when it levels up

say you are ev training a porygon-z because of they're impressive max sp att and you kill gastlys until it levels up you see Porygon-z grew to level -- and everything increases by 2 or 3 but you look at sp. att and see 17! or something like that you think how did that happen it's all because of ev's the max stats you can gain out of ev training is 64 points per stat for a list of pokemon and their Effort Values copy and paste this into the address bar http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-dp/ and look for the hyperlinked black stats If you do not understand Ev's after this post past this site in the address bar http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-rs/ev.shtml

EDIT: Forgot that max Evs per pokemon is 510 and that medicine such as protein and carbos give 10 Ev's to the specified stat and it is impossible for pokemon to take more than 10 and cant take any over level 59

You might also want to note that legit non-hacked pokemon can only reach a max of 510 (i think) Evs total.

Yes 510. 255 in each stat. (Only two can be maxed out)

In the future, just read the guides in the Strategies & Movesets forum.
