Team "A CATCH" [A Panicz Production]
I don't even know if I'm allowed-- (Okay, just checked, I am), but here is my newest and second team posted for rating. I'm not going to lie, the first team was certainly more of a technical work out; seeing how well that certain strategy panned out with my own twists. Evidentally, it works better in-game.
So this team here is a team revolving more around competitive battles, as many of the teams posted are. I haven't tested it out thoroughly yet (as it is still in the works), but this following team with mixed strategies and uses is what I came up with. Once again, criticism is more than welcome and only helps me refine the team. ___ Crobat @ Leftovers Ability: Inner Focus Nature: Naive EVs: 170 HP / 100 Attack / 216 Speed - Hypnosis - Haze - U-Turn - Arial Ace Ambipom @ Leftovers Ability: Technician Nature: Timid EVs: 252 HP / 4 Special Attack / 252 Speed - Baton Pass - Nasty Plot - Swift - Thunderbolt Cradily @ Leftovers Ability: Suction Cups Nature: Sassy EVs: 252 HP / 56 Defense / 200 Special Defense - Giga Drain - Rock Slide - Recover - Stealth Rock Absol @ Scope Lens Ability: Super Luck Nature: Lonely EVs: 252 Attack / 24 Special Attack / 232 Speed - Swords Dance - Night Slash - Psycho Cut - Rock Smash Togekiss @ Choice Specs Ability: Serene Grace Nature: Modest EVs: 88 HP / 252 Special Attack / 164 Speed - Air Slash - Flamethrower - Aura Sphere - Psychic Hippowdon @ Leftovers Ability: Sand Stream Nature: Impish EVs: 252 HP / 4 Attack / 252 Defense - Earthquake - Substitute - Roar - Slack Off ___ I think the roles are pretty obvious here, and I did spend some time working out the move pools and EVs. (Not gonna lie on Absol though, Smogon gave me that set. It'll probably give you an answer to Rock Smash too, if you're interested). Like I mentioned before, critique is appreciated, and I look forward to seeing the flaws. Sure there are some. Thanks in advance. |
Ambipom needs Taunt or PHazers will shut it down.
Scope Lens is a hax item >:0 Away it goes. Crobat as a hazer is no. It has way better things to be doing than that in all honesty. |

As for Scope Lens... is it illegal? Clause against it? Otherwise, it's basically the reason Absol is my physical sweeper. But fair enough. But for Crobat, I think it works great. He's quick, can pull off a hypnosis immediately and can work a haze in the same manner. It'd certainly be an unpleasant surprise to be slept and then hazed all so quickly if I could pull it off-- even just one of the two effects would be detrimental. Like I said for Ambipom, what would you suggest changing...? That is the reason I put the team up. Not just to have it's weaknesses revealed but to also have appropriate changes suggested. I do appreciate your opinion, though. |
Sleep works as a way to "PseudoHaze" as most people will switch out to prevent their Pokemon from getting battered while they can't fight back.

I still don't really recommend it considering Crobat has way better things to be doing. |
Cross Poison is the strongest STAB Crobat can get, I'd put it over Aerial Ace or Haze
Also, attach Focus Sash to your lead or Haze WILL be useless completely |
Haze is useless on Crobat anyways though. Besides, I'm not one to promote focus sash with all the sand stream leads going around...and the oversized lawnmower thing that summons hail.

My Dugtrio has Sunny Day and my Bronzong has Rain Dance believe it or not Anti =D
Focus Sash is always the best for stopping DD'ers |
Hmm. I was actually just about to post concerning replacing Haze with Taunt. But that's shot down, evidentally.
You mention Crobat having a difficult time switching in. That's certainly true. In this case I was working with, Crobat was going to be the lead; do a quick sleep, then U-Turn out of there. U-Turn compensated for the Psychic weakness as well, but something else may do it better (on top of my Dark types, of course). I'm gonna find a suitable Physical Sweeper alternative for Absol. I guess luck can't always be counted on, but you have to admit... the chances are pretty high when you couple his ability with the item and the attacks. Hax damage... if it hits, I guess. @ Ambipom... I think I'll replace my Thunderbolt, as you mentioned. Waters and Flyers can be taken care of by Cradily with his Rock Slide and Giga Drain (both types are neutralized by his typing, I'll remind). Besides, Swift coupled with Technician does 120 damage(?) It also never misses and picks up a STAB bonus. So those are changes to be made. With that, I'm assuming the other three aspects of my team are acceptable? At least, until I make changes? EDIT: I can't rely on Focus Sash since my Hippowdon has Sand Stream. As much as it's useful for it and Cradily, it'd raep my Focus Sasher. |
