My UU team (First)

http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpmfa/dpmfa057.png@Choice Band //Rape Ape
Jolly~252 Attack/224 Speed/32 HP
Trait:Vital Spirit
Close Combat
Earthquake
U-Turn
Stone Edge

ChoiceApe, absorbs sleep attacks, pure awesomeness.

http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpmfa/dpmfa028.png@Leftovers //Sonic
Impish~252 HP/252 Defense/4 HP
Rapid Spin
Earthquake
Counter
Stone Edge/Night Slash

I already have a Stealth Rocker, so I don't really need it on him. Otherwise just a standard Sandslash. Works as my spinner, and is a great switch in when Altaria is about to take a Stone Edge.

http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpmfa/dpmfa334.png@ChoiceSpecs //Salamence
Modest~252 HP/252 Sp Attk
Rest
Draco Meteor
Ice Beam
Flamethrower

Rest lets me get a Heal off, then I can switch to rid myself of the Sleep Status. Hits hard with Specs and Draco Meteor. Ice Beam for and Steel types trying to wall me, and Flamethrower for coverage.

http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpmfa/dpmfa323.png@Leftovers //Cameltoe
Quiet~228 HP/166 Sp Attack/116 Attack
Lava Plume
Earth Power
EXPLOSION
Stealth Rock

I use this to set up a Stealth Rock, then either work on Burning someone, or just blowing up in their face. With those EVs it gets 265 Attack, which is enough to Explode and do some damage. If it lives long enough, it helps to suck up WoW.

http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpmfa/dpmfa089.png@Black Sludge //Ivan Ooze
Careful~252 HP/80 Def/176 Special Defense
Trait:Sticky Hold
Curse
Gunk Shot
Brick Break
Payback/Shadow Sneak

Standard Cursing Muk, Shadow Sneak would be great after a few Curses, and it absorbs Trick, Switcheroo, Toxic Spikes, and Toxic.

http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpmfa/dpmfa275.png@Life Orb/Focus Sash //GreatDeku
Mild~252 Special Attack/148 Attack/104 Speed
Trait:Chlorophyll
Sunny Day
Explosion
Energy Ball/Leaf Storm
Dark Pulse (unless I get lucky with HP Fire)

(the only one I own on the entire team so far thanks to my good friend Tortured_Soul.

This Pokemon helps my team greatly. It's immune to Psychic, which is good due to 2 of my pokemon being weak to it. It sets up sunny day, which along with Solid Rock actually allows my Camerupt to survive some water moves. Same for my Sandslash. Sunny day helps Altaria's Flamethrower as well.

-----------------------------------------------------------
So yeah, this is my team, I know I need some Cleric support, and I was thinking Chimecho, but first I wanna see what everyone else thinks.

Looks pretty nice. Any reason why it has 32 HP and 224 speed?

I hear Sandslash is a great physical sponge for the UU game.

Careful~252 HP/200 SpDef/56 Attack
Roost
Dragon Claw
Toxic/Dragon Dance
Earthquake/Haze

This thing is awesome. Toxic to wear people down. Roost off Damage, Haze things trying to set up. Great in the UU enviroment.

I expected Altaria to be BL, but I guess not. I just love Dragon Dance, so I threw it up there to go with Quake and Claw.

Guessing Solid Rock as the ability; just be wary of water and ground from the likes of Quagsire.

If you run this, you really might want some sort of Dark type to absorb Psychic. It might be a sp. sponge, but... The set, however, is very good.

Bold~252 HP/252 Defense/6 Special Attack
Roost
Stockpile
Surf
Toxic

*Isn't one to know Pelipper*

Makes up for my Water weakness. After 3 Stockpiles, this can survive a Thunderpunch from Electivire, which is something.

-----------------------------------------------------------
So yeah, this is my team, I know I need some Cleric support, and I was thinking Chimecho, but first I wanna see what everyone else thinks.

So that's why you had 6 Mankeys.

Anyway, the team's setup is really good overall. I'm not one to know the UU metagame, but I know this could be a great team for it.

Ooka January 26th, 2008 11:44 AM

That Altaria is running like a wall, which is why Toxic>DD. And I might have to throw Mighteyana in there for Psychic coverage.

luke January 26th, 2008 11:58 AM

Ew. Please no Mightyena. :[ Maybe Shiftry or Cacturne. Your team is really Bug-resistanct, so I don't think that would be a problem. I love the Ivan Ooze nickname by the way. I love that movie. ;_; It's a really good, solid team. Good job.

Ooka January 26th, 2008 12:03 PM

MMPR=Pwng xD

I was wondering about Crawdaunt, anyone have any experience with it?

ABYAY January 26th, 2008 12:07 PM

Between Crawdaunt, Shiftry, and Cacturne, I'd have to go Shiftry. I faced one in the Battle Tower, and it had some decent moves, including the all-known Leech Seed. Not only does it absorb psychic, but it protects Camerupt, and it gives you Quagsire and even something to face Swampert.

luke January 26th, 2008 12:11 PM

Choice Band Crawdaunt is love. <3 I love all three of them personally, and they all provide some sort of coverage for your team. So it's all up to you.

Ooka January 26th, 2008 12:12 PM

Yeah, good point. Unfortunatly, I don't really have anything on my team I'm too fond of replacing.

ABYAY January 26th, 2008 1:06 PM

Maybe you could replace Pelipper with Crawdaunt. You already have a physical wall, and from the looks, Pelipper is doing the same exact thing.

Samson January 26th, 2008 1:41 PM

i like this team ^.^

i'd give primeape ice punch instead of stone edge. really comes in handy in UU/BL since ghosts are not as common.

umm pelipper can't afford to pull off 3 stockpiles and use toxic at the same time. i see a great dilemma with it. especially if you consider that nothing on your team hits hard enough with special attacks. i know it's going to sound strange, but i suggest giving either altaria or pelipper choice specs. altaria can pull off SpecsRest quite well. giving it a physical variation makes it get walled way too easily. i suggest Altaria / Modest Nature / 252 SP ATK/ 252 HP / Draco Meteor / Dragon Pulse or Ice Beam / Flamethrower / Rest. i think altaria is much better off hitting the switch in hard and switching out to let someone else take the hit for it, most likely muk.

Ooka January 26th, 2008 1:48 PM

Yeah, with Natural Cure, SpecsRest is a nice combo. But I like the Pelliper, found the set on Youtube, and I think it works pretty well.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=xI4N9Qv6IQg

But like I said, I'm gonna go with SpecsRest on Altaria.

Samson January 26th, 2008 3:07 PM

no offense ooka, but the only reason why that pelipper worked is because the guy he was battling was complete RUBBAGE. fly salamence, all fighting type moves machamp, hyberbeam blastoise... =/

subseed sets, which are popular in lower tiers, will completely embarrass it.

Ooka January 26th, 2008 3:31 PM

Now that you mention it....

Alright, well, taking the advice of the Psychic weakness:

[email protected] Orb/Focus Sash //GreatDeku
Mild~252 Special Attack/148 Attack/104 Speed
Trait:Chlorophyll
Sunny Day
Explosion
Energy Ball/Leaf Storm
Dark Pulse (unless I get lucky with HP Fire)

This Pokemon helps my team greatly. It's immune to Psychic, which is good due to 2 of my pokemon being weak to it. It sets up sunny day, which along with Solid Rock actually allows my Camerupt to survive some water moves. Same for my Sandslash. Sunny day helps Altaria's Flamethrower as well.

So whatcha think?

Samson January 26th, 2008 3:43 PM

sounds good, but i don't like SolarBeam even with Sunny Day. i'd still consider leaf storm or energy ball instead.

and don't give it extrasensory. definitely dark pulse.

Ooka January 26th, 2008 3:44 PM

Makes sense, if Sunny Day runs out on the wrong turn I'll be left without a Grass type move, and Dark Pulse provides STAB. Shoulda thought of that before I posted xD

Samson January 26th, 2008 3:50 PM

your thoughts on needing cleric support.. why??!! you have awesome CB primeape (who is the STAR of the UU tier) taking sleep like a champ and altaria on the other end switching in on paralyze/poison (which are really the only other statuses in UU, burn is usually fail with all the available fire types) and punishing with specs hits.

team looks good to me. only thing you want to be careful for is switching muk in when sunny day is up. it would usually be able to take a flamethrower/fire blast quite easily, but sunny day makes it a little harder for it to do that.

Ooka January 26th, 2008 3:52 PM

Well, if I'm expecting Flamethrower I'll be sure to bring in Camperupt or Altaria, but.... wait... I just realized, I have a Octillery weakness... Darn them and their access to Flamethrower.

Samson January 26th, 2008 4:02 PM

umm muk can raep him with thunderpunch. if you don't want tpunch on him, then if octillery comes in on camerupt, you can just let it die (if it doesn't get an EXPLOSION in) and primeape will easily OHKO with CB Close Combat.

i don't think octillery is that big of a concern. OH and camerupt is a ground type! how could i forget? xD twave immunities make that scenario plausible.

Ooka January 26th, 2008 4:04 PM

Alright, sounds good to me.

Now one more for ya, what about a Manectric with HP Water/Ice?

luke January 26th, 2008 4:04 PM

Are you keeping Leftovers on Altaria or are you going Specs?

Ooka January 26th, 2008 4:06 PM

Woops, forgot to edit that xD

luke January 26th, 2008 4:15 PM

Manectric should be handled by Muk. And I believe Primeape can survive an attack from it and KO with Earthquake.

ABYAY January 26th, 2008 4:37 PM

Requests for battles in the Diamond and Pearl section rather than in movesets section plz...

Shiftry really is your best option; Cacturne's just a lil too fragile, and Crawdaunt isn't helping with grass.

Ooka January 26th, 2008 4:42 PM

Well, I figured I needed somewhat of a mixed sweeper, and I figured Cacturne was to fragile to cover the part, so it was between Crawdaunt and Shiftry. So in the end, Speed is what made me go with Shiftry, because of Chlorophyll.

Ársa January 26th, 2008 7:38 PM

You stole Shiftry, it is Copyrighted to me... :(
