I've been working on this ever since aragornbird lit me up
EDIT: for those who still care (lol nobody), Regirock replaced Boah. go go go regirock! Nothing is updated except that, so don't go crazy when you hear TTar in there lol.
Introduction: Which was a good while ago, but the stall-ific-ness of his team was incredible. I decided I should try to make a stall team, and so my quest began. However, I was having a great deal of trouble finding out how to make everything gel together well, until Dark_Azelf linked me to Obi's stall team, and I realized the missing ingredients. Mostly Wish Support and status. Now, I have finished the team, after a little less than a month of work! It's stallific! That being said, weaks probably exist and that's what I need you guys for. I'm not going to change any pokemon I have, unless maybe it's Salamence, who was just kind of thrown in to beat Mixape. Anyways, here's the TSS, minus toxic, plus WoW, that I have... ---------------------------------------------------- Team: Hippowdon (♂) @ Leftovers Traity: Sand Stream EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 212 Def / 40 SDef Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Slack Off - Earthquake - Ice Fang - Stealth Rock Starts off SR and Sand Stream. Forretress (♂) @ Shed Shell Trait: Sturdy EVs: 240 HP / 16 Atk / 192 Def / 56 SDef Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Spikes - Rapid Spin - Toxic Spikes Spikespinning FTW. Weavile counter. Spikes and Toxic Spikes make it tough to really come in w/o taking 50% damage. Mullac's team exposed a Boah weak, so EQ is on forry to stop Ice Beam variants. Tbolt variants are beaten by the hungry hungry hippo. Dusknoir (♂) @ Leftovers Trait: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 76 Def / 180 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Fire Punch - Thunderpunch - Pain Split - Shadow Sneak Rapid Spin blocker and beats Heracross. No WoW since Toxic Spikes makes that useless really. Need help choosing which punch to pack. Blissey (♀) @ Leftovers ** Nurse of Death Trait: Natural Cure EVs: 40 HP / 252 Def / 216 SDef Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Wish - Thunder Wave / Heal Bell - Protect - Seismic Toss Gives much needed wish support to Uxie, Forry, and Noir. Also the special wall. Twave to beat the levitating beasts like Azelf, Gengar, and even the occasional togekiss. Also, steels that switch in immune to toxic spikes are in for a rude awakening. Need EV help. Was thinking of Heal Bell since Shoddy doesn't seem to care that it's illegal :0 Regirock @ Leftovers Trait: Clear Body EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Curse - Stone Edge - Fire Punch - Explosion Go go go Regirock! Go go go away Bronzong and Metal Sound Zapdos! Uxie @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 72 SAtk / 56 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Psychic - Toxic - U-Turn - Yawn Mixape and Gyara stopper. Yawn is a lot of fun here, and U-Turn means pursuit doesn't totally obliterate me. did I mention how much fun Yawn is? ---------------------------------------------------- Strategy: Pretty basic strategy here. I first set up SR with Hippo (or switch, as I have to sometimes). Forry comes in when it has a free chance to switch in *cough outraging scarfchomp cough* and sets up spikes. Rapid spin is promptly blocked by Dusknoir. As my brigade of walls weakens, Blissey passes around wish support and paralyzes threatening sweepers to slow them down and allow my walls to slowly eat away at them. Stat-uppers get a taste of yawn from Uxie. Uxie also destroys Gyarados and Mixape. While it might seem like SkarmBliss stalls away my team, I just set up spikes and SR on them and wear skarm down with Boah. It's also loads of fun to catch it roosting a deliver a supereffective focus punch in its face. Boah is the main source of attacking here, mostly to disassemble the opponent's walls. I've found Dusknoir gets a lot of kills off shadow sneak this way. Status helps a lot here, especially against walls that can stall me out. WoW from Noir has helped in numerous cases, mostly for beating incoming pursuit users and physical sweepers. It disables tanks that will try to outstall me with ease, such as Suicune and Milotic. The rest Boah takes care of. Thunder Wave slows down the likes of Azelf and Zam, totally disabling them. Heal Bellers get eaten alive by the Sand Stream, Spikes, and SR damage they'll be taking. Once the foe's team is weakened quite a lot, I'll usually bring in Boah, set up a sub, and rampage through what's left of my foe's team. So far this team has racked up 12 wins with only 1 loss (Dark_Azelf >:0), so it's definately been what I would call a great success. ---------------------------------------------------- Comment away. I'm listening. |
DD Feraligatr hurts it pretty badly, especially if the person you're fighting gets some FlinchHax.
I think you should go with Relaxed on Uxie, so you get better damage with U-Turn. |
Uxie shuts down Feraligatr, much like it does Gyarados. I'm pretty sure it's a 2HKO...or really close. I yawn it and Tbolt FTW. When I has=d Mence over Uxie, I has so many weaks...yuck.
U-turn isn't really supposed to inflict damage, just make prediction easier and to beat pursuiters. |
Alright, then it looks good to me :)

Any weaks to be concerned of? I'd hope not with 5 walls! |
I just realized, Tyranniboah is actually weak to Dorapion. Sorry, I never really new that xD
Well, you would have to watch one of those with a moveset like: Earthquake Nigh Slash Brick Break Fire Fang |
Hippowdon beats it with teh flying colors ;)
Actually, when things come along that no specific pokemon of mine can counter 100%, I usually play the prediction game and try to stall them out of PP. For example, SpecsLuke can't touch Bliss unless it uses Aura Sphere, but I have Dusknoir which takes nothing from it, and Uxie as backup. Actually, the problem I've really noticed (the only one I've really found SO FAR) is the lack of ability to take status. Hypnosis really hurts, and I often find a disabled Dusknoir of Uxie to be mere dead weight. Wish and Heal Bell/Aromatherapy is illegal on Blissey, so that isn't an option. |
It's gonna hurt when someone has a SpecsMence leading their team, you take it to be a DDMence, it kills Hippo, then you get swept by Dorapion...

[email protected] Orb / W/E 252 ATT / 252 SPEED / 6 HP Adamant Nature - Close Combat - Stone Edge / Blaze Kick - Crunch - Swords Dance After a Swords Dance Close Combat does like 80% to Hippowdon and Forry, Crunch OHKO 's Dusknoir and Uxie , Close Combat wrecks Blissey and T-Tar. =o Sorry, i just love being annoying, but only Hippo and forry really stand a chance, if both are weakened and this comes out late game, god know what damage it could cause |
good thing I never see Luke :P Hippo kills it with EQ, and I always keep it at really high help ever since you showed me that a few days ago lol. Thank goodness for slack off!
A lot of things can sweep me late game, but my walls generally don't die very easily. That's a good thing :P Usually Luke is SpecsLuke, I rarely see it pop up anyways. thank goodness! Also, I like to send Uxie in to yawn all incoming sweepers (yeah, it carries the load, tell me about it :P) At least I have some form of a counter, even if it does take 80% lol BTW, I always switch to Dusknoir if the lead is Salamence. I expect Specsmence usually. Mence is annoying, but one thing that always scares it away is Dusknoir, due to the presence or Ice Punch (even though I don't have it, but they don't know that) Admittedly, I have to play really smart against some of these things. Still, they usually have trouble with residual damage and are stalled. That's what I LOVE about stall teams :P Thanks guys :) |
God, you guys need to stop calling Lucario 'Luke.' Seeing my name pop up every time it's mentioned is mind-boggling. It's a very solid team Anti. Excellent job.
|
Hey Anti, what happened to your prized Articuno? ?_?
The Stall team lacks a good Cleric, Blissey would fill this in well, but it's up to you to replace either Protect or Thunder Wave. The problem alone is Burn, you have no Fire-types to repel it and Blissey does not like Burn at all if it's going to stay ion and fight (unless you plan on predicting carefully) |
geez what is it with people and physical walls and tanks lately? you got 2 physical walls and 2 physical tanks on this one team. leaving it all up to ttar to hit hard is not a good idea =/

Well Samson, I don't really need to attack much. I usually only need Boah to clean up certain messes, attacking is the last thing on my mind. I've always loved stall wars, this is one more way to accomplish that, lol
Articuno dies to Heatran, which is why it was left out. It also can't give wish support. I would run Aromatherapy on blissey, the problem is that it's illegal on Wish bliss I'm pretty sure. As for MixMence, that is quite the nuisance. I Dusknoir is always my first switch to Mence. MixMence usually won't stay in because of the threat of ice punch. Maybe I should put Ice Punch on Noir for better coverage against MixMence? Either way, SR, Sand Stream, and Life Orb damage usually will wear on any Life Orb Mence pretty quickly. Whenever I run into it, I usually try to outpredict it and let all the extra damage pile on. Switching between Blissey and Noir is especially fun :P So, Ice Punch on Noir sound good? It would go over Pain Split probably, since I need WoW to stop pursiuters and I do have wish support. |
Yeah, considering you have Wish Support, you should be okay without Pain Split.....
|
Most of my tests with this have been w/o pain split, and I must say it's never really bugged me not having it, as Bliss passes wish fairly easily. Basically, I've never found pain split to be needed with wish. I might be wrong, but that's been the feeling so far for me.
|
Stall huh?
basing the team off Obi's isn't a very smart idea, since his team is nearly weak to half the metagame Still, weak to physical Infernape Those are horrid Blissey EVs btw, Blissey always wants max defense EVs, and Calm is a +SpDef, not Def. Never really liked Boah, since he is walled by nearly every steel type and loses to other Tyranitar Oh, and despite the fact that this is a stall team, it is heavy stalled no TSpikes means that your team is set up fodder No ReSTalker means Gengar weak |
Quote:
Methinks I'll add Toxic Spikes to Forry over the rarely-used EQ. I'm open to anything on blissey's EVs, lay it on me. Yeah, I'll change w/e I must, etc. etc. EDIT: This team has never really been close to stalled before...and I've faced stall teams. |
Unfortunately, it isn't actually Obi's team :( (read the trou du cul threads)
Also, I find that Obi's team (No longer now, as stated above) is probably the most balanced. I can see that you don't want to use the same pokemon, but the problem is that he has used the best ones. At least go with Obi-Bliss. [email protected] Calm 252 Def, 40 Sp. Atk, 216 Sp. Def Natural Cure Protect Wish Flamethrower Toxic The reasoning is, Wish / Protect helps to stall out the opponent, either with Toxic Spikes or toxic. You may be thinking, Toxic on a Toxic Spikes team, what is going on? As Obi states, Azelf, among others, has levitate, and as such would out-stall Blissey, and could Nasty Plot up etc, to sweep your team. Logic is, Toxic can hit Azelf, then stall with Wish/Protect. Skarm thinks it can lol at you by being immune to Toxic and Toxic Spikes, among all the other steels, and then you hit hard with Flamethrower, for a 2HKO I believe. 3 main Blissey counters are Weavile, Tyranitar and Breloom (I think it's breloom), and Flamethrower hits Breloom and Weavile for SE damage, and jack all on T-Tar, where as T-Bolt hits Weavile for Jack, not T-Tar at all, and breloom for Jack, and Ice Beam is in a similar boat. ~T_S |
Thunderbolt DOES hit Tyranitar you know ._.
This isn't Obi's team people...I used it as a reference since I have little experience making stall teams. I didn't copy anything...the only thing would be SDef on blissey, that's really it. Obi's team didn't have the impact you guys are thinking, I'm going to delete that or I'm going to be bugged with it >.> And really, is Obi's team the best stall team with the best stalling pokemon? I really doubt that. I have my own favorite pokemon I'd much rather use (leaving out blissey of course). Bad idea bringing that up even...I'll explain how I made this team: First, I wanted a weather pokemon. TTar and Hippo are here...I went for Hippo, as CBtar can shred stuff and Hippo is a good counter for it. Forry has always been a favorite of mine and Spikes access is cool. Plus, Weavile and co. destroy Hippo so Forry could provide back-up walling. Blissey was process of elimination for what Ineeded, I REALLY didn't want to use this thing. Dusknoir was to take fighting attacks really, and to block the dreaded rapid spin. Besides, killing Hera is fun. This also absorbs the killer fighting attacks that can eat up my other 3 walls, and Uxie can help with that as well. Boah was added...I don't know, Sand storm immunity and Boah is all-Around a sweet attacker. It is loads of fun to use and kill people with. It'll also beat lots of stuff that tried to stall me, which was huge when I chose it. Uxie...that was tough. I needed a MixApe counter, and I went with this. I was also having trouble with PHazing/SR for Hippo, and Uxie could do what Hippo didn't. It is my only defense against stat-uppers. Oh, Gyarados as well. I'd really like to make it clear that this isn't some blind copy of Obi's team, and there aren't just replacements for his pokemon either. A lot of thought was put into this, and about 80% of this team was finished before I even saw that thread. And lol, I'm not using Obi's Blissey. Ugh, I'll update it...and delete the thing about Obi. EDIT: I'm defensive because I don't want this rated liek you're rating Obi's freaking team... |
Quote:
Careful 252 HP, ??, ?? Rest Sleep Talk Fire Punch Brick Break There, if you must insist on not using Obi's Tomb, Rest-Talk Dusknoir works well, I cannot remember the standard EV's though O_O ~T_S EDIT: I seriously didn't mean that you were copying, as much as you may be limiting yourself because of obi's team P.S. I am going to PM you a team that I think looks nice, but I don't want to show it in RMT style, as people will know it then. (I play teams that I post here and I find that the people I battle have this page open during battles. :( |
Quote:
Really, it could have been ANY good stall team DA could have PMed me and I'd have the same team today, besides maybe the Blissey EVs. Yeah O_O Now can we drop this entire Obi thing right here? It's annoying >.> EDIT: It's really obvious when people know your team, and it's all the more satisfying to drill them into the ground with them using pathetic tactics to try and win in the first place. |
Yes, I understand, but I have my opinions, you have yours. (I know you didn't copy his, and I simply stated that you may have tried too hard not to, and you could have used other pokemon, but decided not to because Obi did)
but now we drop it. ;) As I said, if blissey goes down, Nasty Plot Azelf takes you. (Even if Bliss is there, Explosion is run on most I believe.) ~T_S |
If Azelf Explodes then you've technically already countered it lol :p
But, Blissey has Protect which can scout for Explosion in the first place. And with Sandstorm/Spikes/SR/Thunder Wave and Siesmic Toss, Nasty Plot Azelf isn't going past Blissey or even Dusknoir any time soon. |
