This thing pisses stuff off. Thunder Wave + Teeter Dance is annoying enough, but with Filter and Calm Mind look out. Can Baton Pass the CM to a pokemon as needed.

Ok, I did have a major Manetric weakness, but this resists it really well. This is the all-around pokemon, and it's great to use. Going purely for Power and Coverage here.

Careful over Calm if you're running Fire Punch on Hypno.

Hypnosis/Thunder Wave
Sunny Day
Wish
Fire Punch

My Lead. Very awkward, but sets up Sunny Day under a Hypnosis, then can wish into Sunflora or another on my team. Fire Punch isn't expected, as such Sunny Day can boost the power.

This thing runs Thunderwave a lot better than Mr. Mime.

It's simple, it sets up better with the opponent asleep, and if you catch a Pokemon on a move that you could gladly let it use over and over again, use an Encore. Calm Mind while either of the two are happening.

Rotom is probably the only thing you would have Night Slash for anyways.

Calm
252 HP, 136 Sp. Atk, 120 Sp. Def
Water Absorb

Ice Beam
Toxic
Mirror Coat
Protect

My Special Wall, with no Surf because of Sunny Day. HP Ground can get those pesky Electric types, and Toxic/Protect to Stall out opponents.

It won't be fast enough to hit any Electric types.... Unless it's Lanturn witch takes it extremely well.

You've got a decently bad weakness to Manectric, especially after Sunny Day.

Ársa January 26th, 2008 10:18 PM

What is Manetric Base Speed? (Sharpedo)

~T_S

luke January 26th, 2008 10:21 PM

It's Base Speed is 105. Which outruns Sharpedo.

Ooka January 26th, 2008 10:22 PM

Timid Manectric gets 339 Speed, your Sharpedo only gets 289 ._.

Ársa January 26th, 2008 10:26 PM

damn Manetric :( :(

~T_S

ABYAY January 26th, 2008 10:32 PM

sadly for you T_S, I have a Timid Manectric, but it's Hidden Power is Grass at roughly 55... not too high, but not too low. It could be much better.

2 Psychics on your team? Better hope nothing's running Dark AND Fighting or it'll mess up half of your team

Find a way to resolve that issue, and you'll be A-okay.

Ársa January 26th, 2008 10:38 PM

How about this over Hypno?

[email protected] Rock

Flash Fire

Hypnosis
Sunny Day
Flare Blitz
Will-o-Wisp

Lead with it, and Hypno becomes my Sp. Wall over Mantine, but with different spread.

Rapidash is pretty nice; I can't believe it's also UU ???

Just better make sure some sort of fire-resistant pokemon doesn't come out.

Ársa January 26th, 2008 10:57 PM

Won't need to worry, Hypnosis is there for that. ;)
Updated with new Phys. Sweeper.

AluminumKnight January 28th, 2008 11:47 AM

Isn't Nidoking BL? Or is this a BL/UU team?

ABYAY January 28th, 2008 11:58 AM

Both of the Nidos are UU according to the PC tier list. Deals with Manetric very nicely, so great pick.

Eos Aduro January 28th, 2008 4:16 PM

I lvoe Mixed Nidoking more than physucal personally. And I would go Taunt on Hypno.

Anti January 28th, 2008 4:19 PM

Hypno is too slow to really taunt well.

That Hypno set in general I don't get, since only one move is actually boosted by Calm Mind...and fire punch...what is that doing there? HP Fire would be better considering you're running a CM set. Oh, you'll want a way to heal...*cough wish cough*

Eos Aduro January 28th, 2008 4:21 PM

Oh right Wish, that makes sense, also you could go Reflect/Light Screen over Taunt if you want a little boost.

Ársa January 28th, 2008 11:18 PM

I thought Hypno could learn wish, but I couldn't see it in the learned moves on Serebii and Bulbapedia. Basically, I was running CM to boost Sp. Def mainly, and to give it a mixed set-up. With Sunny Day in effect, Fire Punch does something near what Psychic would do, as Hypno has similar base Sp. Atk and Atk stats. I was unsure on the last slot, I did have Wish, but I couldn't find if it learnt it or not.

Thanks again,

~T_S

luke January 29th, 2008 8:33 AM

Oh well it's from a NYC Event thing. So it's only usable on Shoddy or through that event.

Ársa January 29th, 2008 1:43 PM

Yeah, I have the event, that's where I remember it from. ;)

Too bad the IV's are bad. :(
