True UU RMT!

Ok, first READ THIS: THIS TEAM IS FOR FUN, USING MY FAVORITE POKEMON. I KNOW IT'S NOT THE BEST. THE POKEMON IN THIS TEAM WILL NOT CHANGE, ONLY ITEMS AND MOVESETS. Don't say "USE HYPO, HE'S AN AWESOME SPECIAL WALL," or "ARBOK SUXXORS LOL!!!11"

Now that that's out of the way, let me explain how this team works. It's a baton pass team with lots of options. I have 2 baton passers that set up speed, defense, and special defense passes. I have a special sweeper and physical sweeper for the end of each chain (notice I'm not passing any attack stats, so I can pass to either one). I also have a phys/special wall combo that I like to call SandOwl. These two can recieve passes as well, though can't sweep very well.

Gorebyss @ ???
Swift Swim
Nature: ???
EVs (need help): (252 HP/252 Sp Atk/6 Spd)
Amnesia
Barrier
Aqua Ring/Surf
Baton Pass

Has a great Def stat, so after Amnesia, should be a good enough tank to set up. I'd like to pass Aqua Ring as well, but then I would sacrifice an attack move (and it would be a shame to let Gorebyss' good Sp Atk stat go to waste).

Ariados @ ???
Insomnia
Nature: ???
EVs: ???
Spider Web
Agility
Baton Pass
Sucker Punch/Poison Jab

Bad defenses, so he recieves the pass from Gorebyss, Agilities, Webs if it looks good, and passes on to a sweeper. Sucker Punch/Poison Jab for Taunters. It's also good to note that Ariados has Insomnia, which is useful.

Venomoth @ Expert Belt/Black Sludge/Wise Glasses
Tinted Lens
Modest
(252 Sp Atk/252 Spd/6 Hp)
Bug Buzz
Energy Ball
HP Fire/Ground/Rock
Psychic/Stun Spore

Special sweeper. Has pretty good coverage, SE on all but about 5 types (those dependant upon which HP I run). If I run Stun Spore, I can probably invest some Speed EVs into HP and run Black Sludge to be a little bulky (since I should get an agilipass anyway), but I lose coverage on Fighting and Poison-types. Otherwise, I can run Expert Belt for harder SE hits, or Wise Glasses (NVE attacks can hit pretty hard then). I thought about running HP Fire/Solarbeam with sun, but there's no good way to get sun for him, as my walls are strapped for moveslots as it is, and my BPers can't sacrifice a slot either. Btw, Venomoth is begging for Air Slash...

Arbok @ Expert Belt/Black Sludge/Muscle Band?
Intimidate
Adamant
(252 Atk/252 Spd/6 HP)
Ice Fang
Crunch
Gunk Shot
Glare/Earthquake/Rock Slide

Physical Sweeper. Covers types that Venomoth can't, namely Dragon and Ghost. Gunk Shot for STAB, EQ/Rock Slide for coverage.

Now for SandOwl!

Sandslash @ Leftovers
Sand Veil
Impish
(252 HP/252 Def/6 Atk)
Stealth Rock
Rapid Spin/Defense Curl
Earthquake
Stone Edge/Rollout

I was going to run a ReSTalk on this guy, but I realized that I have 2 (!) pokes with Insomnia, so I don't need to. Should I be concerned about SR/spikes with all the baton passing and Flying I have? If so I run RS/Stone Edge, otherwise Defense Curl/Rollout ftw. Note that DC/Rollout can be comboed with a Webpass.

Noctowl @ Leftovers
Insomnia
Calm
(252 HP/252 Sp Def/6 Sp Atk)
Hypnosis/Toxic
Roost
Air Slash
Whirlwind

Several cool things I can do with this guy: Webpass + Toxic, Agilipass + Air Slash for flinchax, Toxic + Whirlwind. Roost for recovery and Hypnosis is always useful

Gorebyss @ Lefties
Swift Swim
Nature: Calm
EVs: (252 HP/152SpDef/100SpAtt/6 Spd)
Amnesia
Barrier
Aqua Ring
Baton Pass

Has a great Def stat, so after Amnesia, should be a good enough tank to set up. I'd like to pass Aqua Ring as well, but then I would sacrifice an attack move (and it would be a shame to let Gorebyss' good Sp Atk stat go to waste).
Pure passer/wall, fills either role.

Ariados @ Focus Sash
Insomnia
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252HP/252Spd/6Att
Spider Web
Agility

Even with gorb's passes its defences arent much, so sash allows it to survive any big hits. Otherwise your plan so far looks solid.

Venomoth @ Expert Belt
Tinted Lens
Timid
(252 Sp Atk/252 Spd/6 Hp)
Bug Buzz
Energy Ball
HP Fire
Psychic

Special sweeper. Has pretty good coverage, SE on all but about 5 types (those dependant upon which HP I run). If I run Stun Spore, I can probably invest some Speed EVs into HP and run Black Sludge to be a little bulky (since I should get an agilipass anyway), but I lose coverage on Fighting and Poison-types. With all this coverage you should hit a lot of stuff SE, so expert belt is good

Arbok @ Wide Lense
Intimidate
Jolly
(252 Atk/252 Spd/6 HP)
Ice Fang
Crunch
Gunk Shot
Glare

Physical Sweeper. Covers types that Venomoth can't, namely Dragon and Ghost. Gunk Shot for STAB, EQ/Rock Slide for coverage.
2 effective but inaccurate moves, so wide lense.

Now for SandOwl!

Sandslash @ Leftovers
Sand Veil
Impish
(252 HP/252 Def/6 Atk)
Stealth Rock
Rapid Spin
Earthquake
Stone Edge

I was going to run a ReSTalk on this guy, but I realized that I have 2 (!) pokes with Insomnia, so I don't need to. Should I be concerned about SR/spikes with all the baton passing and Flying I have? If so I run RS/Stone Edge, otherwise Defense Curl/Rollout ftw. Note that DC/Rollout can be comboed with a Webpass.
A chunky spinner who utilises rollout well, but missing can put you back where you started. Stone edge is more conservative.

Noctowl @ Leftovers
Insomnia
Calm
(252 HP/252 Sp Def/6 Sp Atk)
Hypnosis
Roost
Air Slash
Whirlwind

Several cool things I can do with this guy: Webpass + Toxic, Agilipass + Air Slash for flinchax, Toxic + Whirlwind. Roost for recovery and Hypnosis is always useful
Nice idea

Quite a nice UU passing team. Your relying on gorb for most of your passes and walling, but it seems to work well.
Future raters, dont criticise me for bad advice. This is my first rate for a pass team, and everyone has to start somewhere. I think ive made some educated suggestions though.

In all, a nice solid team :)

You REALLY gotta watch for Manetric with Flamethrower, and in my case, HP Grass. It will hit 5 out of 6 pokemon super effectively.

I do like how you're considering Venomoth though. It was an old favorite of mine, with that set, you're looking great. Expert Belt ftw.

AluminumKnight January 28th, 2008 1:59 PM

Hmmm that Manectric does seem to be a problem. I knew I had a slight Electric weak but HP Grass will screw over Sandslash. That's why I was looking at HP Ground on Venomoth. Wouldn't that be a nasty surprise for your Manectric? You couldn't hope to outspeed if I have an Agility, and HP Ground would do like 80% dmg to you while Thunderbolt wouldn't OHKO with Amnesia passed. However, I still can't really switch into Manectric with anyone but Sandslash, who'd lose to HP Grass.

Gorebyss @ Leftovers
Swift Swim
Nature: Calm
EVs : 252 Speed/HP; 4 Special Attack
Amnesia
Barrier
Aqua Ring/Surf
Baton Pass

With those moves you're going to want to have at least one attacking move. As for the EVs, I'd go with those because you wouldn't be using this thing as a special sweeper. There's no use for the Special Attack EVs because you won't be attacking unless it's your last pokemon.

Has a great Def stat, so after Amnesia, should be a good enough tank to set up. I'd like to pass Aqua Ring as well, but then I would sacrifice an attack move (and it would be a shame to let Gorebyss' good Sp Atk stat go to waste).

Ariados @ Focus Sash
Insomnia
Nature: Bold
EVs: 252 HP/Speed; 4 Attack
Spider Web
Agility
Baton Pass
Sucker Punch/Poison Jab

I'm surprised someone else likes this little bug. xD I used it a lot in Crystal. As for the moves, if you really want both Spider Web and Agility, go with Sucker Punch so that you can't have a pokemon that can't attack. Steels are a threat if you choose Poison Jab.

Bad defenses, so he recieves the pass from Gorebyss, Agilities, Webs if it looks good, and passes on to a sweeper. Sucker Punch/Poison Jab for Taunters. It's also good to note that Ariados has Insomnia, which is useful.

Venomoth @ Expert Belt/Black Sludge/Wise Glasses
Tinted Lens
Modest
(252 Sp Atk/252 Spd/6 Hp)
Bug Buzz
Energy Ball
HP Fire/Ground/Rock
Psychic/Stun Spore

I won't say anything on this one...I'm not good with Venomoth. Actually, I'm just starting to get into rating. xD

Arbok @ Expert Belt/Black Sludge/Muscle Band?
Intimidate
Adamant
(252 Atk/252 Spd/6 HP)
Ice Fang
Crunch
Gunk Shot
Glare/Earthquake/Rock Slide

Go with Earthquake, I believe it gives more coverage.

Physical Sweeper. Covers types that Venomoth can't, namely Dragon and Ghost. Gunk Shot for STAB, EQ/Rock Slide for coverage.

Now for SandOwl!

Sandslash @ Leftovers
Sand Veil
Impish
(252 HP/252 Def/6 Atk)
Stealth Rock
Rapid Spin/Defense Curl
Earthquake
Stone Edge/Rollout

I wouldn't use the Defense Curl/Rollout combo. It's not very effective because you have to rely on surviving just to get a good amount of damage in.

Roost
Air Slash
Whirlwind

I really want to help you on this thing since I have a totally awesome Noctowl that I actually use in OU battles. But since it's kind of a secret spread, I don't want to reveal it. (It can withstand an Ice Punch from a standard Weavile, and a Thunderpunch from a standard Electivire. That's pretty amazing considering its horrible defense.)

Several cool things I can do with this guy: Webpass + Toxic, Agilipass + Air Slash for flinchax, Toxic + Whirlwind. Roost for recovery and Hypnosis is always useful

I hope I did good. xD I really don't want to give away my Noctowl set. Sorry.
