Rest and Explosion is bad news. I don't know much about Cloyster besides your set was bad.

- Draco meteor
- Hidden Power [Electric / Grass]

Kingdra with Draco Meteor is just asking for specs

any help or criticisms would be appreciated.

Honestly a horrible team on the defensive side. Energy Ball will just gobble you up and Umbreon just gets BLASTED by many attackers this generation. Cloyster is the same way.

Several rookie mistakes in there to be honest like Mystic Water and Giga Impact ._.

why no to mystic water, and why ice beam instead of avalanche, first its a sp. attack where your nature is lowering sp. attack and second it's base sp. attack is only 85?????? also the hyrdo pump doesn't make sense either, could you explain? Also what's up with rapid spin???? it only does 20 base damage, is there something i don't know?

Its 20% boost does little to help you and Leftovers recovery is far more important.

and why ice beam instead of avalanche,

so you can beat dragons better, especially Mence who will use intimidate on you. Without Ice Beam Tangrowth can walk on in, take almost nothing from Avalanche, and Leech Seed your switch-in or put it to sleep.

Base stats aren't everything. I did say to put relaxed over impish BTW so you lower speed rather than SAtk. 85 isn't too shabby either. Many physical walls are common switches on physical swampert and will not like special attacks in their face.

also the hyrdo pump doesn't make sense either, could you explain?

It DOES make sense. You 2HKO Weezing and skarmory and Hippowdon and Donphan don't even stand a chance.

Also what's up with rapid spin???? it only does 20 base damage, is there something i don't know?

It gets rid of Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Stealth Rock.

Answers in bold.

You have to trust me when I say your team is very bad. I'm here to help you fix it.

flygonjack February 11th, 2008 4:32 PM

Thank you skittles and anti- pop for the help.

Anti February 11th, 2008 4:33 PM

HP Grass for Swampert and a lot of Waters, HP Electric for Gyarados and the metal punguin whose name I just forgot...strangely.

But yeah, Mixpert causes a lot of switches. It's fun with some spikes support.

Angelic Diablo February 11th, 2008 7:34 PM

Id go HP Electric, you can hit Swampert hard enough with a Specs Surf/Hydro Pump since he don't resist it anyway

luke February 11th, 2008 7:39 PM

Yes, I usually 2HKO Swampert with a 40 SAtk EV Hydro Pump from Vaporeon. So that should be around the same level as a Specs Surf from Kingdra. Go with HP Electric.

flamehaze94 February 12th, 2008 3:16 PM

umm..why does Cloyster have Rest?

Make it like a Tank like thing with SR should play really fine, also if you want play around with deffences, increasing sp.def a bit more.

[email protected] life orb
Jolly
252 attack, 252 speed, 6 hp
- Close Combat
- Brave Bird
- Whirlwind
- U-Turn

With SR set up this pokemon should do really well.

[email protected] leftovers
Bold (+def, - attack)
200 def, 252 hp, 58 sp. def (aura sphere??)
- toxic
- moonlight
- Protect
- confuse ray

You can also try making it a Mean Look Passer.

[email protected] leftovers
Trait: Skill Link
Adamant (+Atk, - sp. attack)
252 Hp/ 108 Atk/108 Sp.def/46 Atk
- Toxic Spikes
- substitute
- poison jab
- Icicle Sphere

with skill link, icicle sphere does some good damage. also while you are substituting through in some spikes

[email protected] ?
Timid (+speed, -attack)
252 speed, 252 sp. attack, 6 hp

modest (+sp. attack, - attack)
252 sp. attack, 128hp, 126 speed
- Ice beam
- Surf
- Draco meteor
- Signal Beam

With Signal Beam it can counter Weaviles and other dark types, nice to have a super effective on umbreon

any help or criticisms would be appreciated.

Yeah, I think some of your spreads are way off line, just choice, expecially with Swampert, you need it to act like a wall like thing because it isn't fast. Hope I was of any service ^^

sims796 February 12th, 2008 5:40 PM

Um...wow. Just, wow.

There wasn't much good with any of the advice you gave there. Signal Beam? What good will that do? It'll hardly hit anything hard, and Hidden Power has much more use than a weak Signal Beam. Bug isn't the best offensive move, when it has HP Electric, or GRass, for anything that Surf, Ice Beam, or Draaco can't hit. Namely Swampert, or Gya. Weavile is of little threat to even bother with Signal Beam.

That was an awful Umbreon spread I have ever seen, and I'm being honest, not mean. What can it possibly do? It's not passing, it's doing nothing but sitting there. Rather, Mean Look passing/Curse passing to Swampert/Wish passing...I mean, come on.

Hammer Arm doesn't really benifit Swampert all that much.

Toxic Spikes isn't helpful in this gen, what with Heracross out there. And do you mean Icicle SPEAR? I kept thinking you meant Ice Ball. Both are bad choices, and you won't be doing much damage, even with Skill Link. What, Base 15 damage 5 times? That's a total of Base 75. Avalance would do better. Or possibly Ice Beam.

And last, Staraptor is too fragile to use Whirlwind.
