My feeble attempt at a 1v1 team..

I haven't had much luck with 1VS1 Teams on NB. And here's my attempt at one. A few of these are ones that didn't work with my 2v2 team.

Skarmory@Leftovers[+Speed/-Sp. Atk]
EVs: 252 Speed, 129 Def, 129 Sp. Def
Spikes
Toxic
Roar
Substitute???

Spiker/Toxishuffler

Kingdra@Lum Berry[+Sp. Atk/-Atk]
EVs: 252 Sp. Atk, 129 Def, 129 Sp. Def
Rain Dance
Hydro Pump/Surf
Dragonbreath
Ice Beam/HP Grass

I can't make up my mind on two of the moves. Dragonbreath is for other Kingdras or Dragons...especially the [email protected] I hate those things...

Ninjask@Leichi Berry[+Speed/-Sp. Atk]
EVs: 252 HP, 129 Def, 129 Sp. Def
Baton Pass
Silver Wind
Substitute
Swords Dance

Marowak@Thick Club[+Atk/-Sp. Atk]
EVs: 252 Atk, 129 Def, 129 Sp. Def
Earthquake
Aerial Ace
Brick Break
HP Rock

I guess BPing Speed and some other stuff to it wouldn't be TOO bad...would it?

Jumpluff@Leftovers[+Speed/-Atk]
EVs: 252 Speed, 129 Def, 129 Dp. Def
Sleep Powder
Leech Seed
Substitute
Stun Spore???

Zangoose@Leftovers[+Atk/-Speed]
EVs: 252 Atk, 100 Def, 58 Speed, 100 Sp. Def
Quick Attack
Swords Dance
Return
Shadowball

My only QAer. Ninjask can also BP to this too I suppose.

It probably isn't such a good idea to give jumpluff both sleep powder and stun spore, only one at a time will work. Give skarmory and attack maybe incase of rapid spinners that are steel (Uh, FORTRESS!!!) Give kingdra ice beam, you need a good ice attack. Probably go with surf it is a lot more accurate and the PP don't suck as much. You don't particulary need a ninjask, but he is really weak and can normally only survive one attack, if he isn't weak to it (if he's against a sweeper) So I would give him leftovers to do more subs to pass on speed because you can really only get one swords dance in anyway.

Frostweaver July 12th, 2004 4:58 PM

I promised to do either Skarm or Bliss for those who submitted guides... *sigh* 2 credits used!

Skarmory: 2 movesets send via PM (so others can't steal off credits)

Kingdra- [sp.atk + / atk -] @ lum berry/mystic water
EV: speed on 198, max sp.atk, rest in sp.def
-rain dance
-hydro pump
-ice beam
-hp special/toxic

No need to worry about other Kingdras because there won't be any other Kingdras... if you meet one, go turn on your gameboy to try out the lottery to get a masterball because your luck is acting funny. Hydro Pump is a must because surf's power is very weak (relatively) compare to hydro pump with rain. It's brutal power for anyone that doesn't have wonder guard/water absorb.

Ninjask- [atk + / sp.atk -] @ leftovers/stat+ berry
EV: atk and speed max both
-silver wind
-substitute
-swords dance
-baton pass

Max speed to OHKO Deoxys-FR. Standard... you should know how to use it. Why bother trying to survive when really you cannot?

Marowak- [atk + / sp.atk -] @ thick club
EV: Atk, some def, a bit of speed
-bonemerang
-double edge
-rock slide
-HP Ghost

*gasp* free double edge and it's not being abused!? And bonemerang should be used, just to kill sub abusers (plus it's same power as earthquake anyway.)

Jumpluff- [speed + / sp.atk -] @ leftovers
EV: defensive with speed max
-leech seed
-substitute
-sleep powder
-aerial ace

Err... how does this cotton ball help the team? O.o;

Zangoose- [speed + / sp.atk -] @ lum berry
EV: atk and speed max
-swords dance
-quick attack
-return/double edge
-shadowball

You will need the speed... you so will.

Simon July 12th, 2004 5:27 PM

I don't know how the cotten ball helps. I guess I'll replace it with Ludicolo for anti-Kyogre...

[email protected][+Sp. Def/-Atk]
EVs: 129 Sp. Def, 129 Def, 252 Speed
Giga Drain
Leech Seed
Protect
Toxic

I can't remember what my 2v2 Ludi had but I think this was it. Rain Dish.

EDIT: Great...no one will accept my battles now...wonder if it's the bird...

Frostweaver July 12th, 2004 5:41 PM

It shouldn't be... as for every 3 battle there is one bird and one egg anyway... As for Ludicolo, I'll rather put the speed into hp to be much more endurable.

Mana Lugia July 12th, 2004 6:49 PM

you know what's a leet Skarm?

Skarm @ Leftovers/Chesto (I'm in a tourney that has item clause, so I use chesto)
+ Def - atk (Less confusion damage)
Evs: max HP, as much defense as wanted, and rest in SpD

Toxic
Whirlwind
Rest
Spikes

Well, it works for me cuz I have a blissey back upping and a Quagsire to boot, but still. Who said Skarm was supposed to attack? :-x

Magneton says so ;p

Quagsire...? I tried using it but it goes down so quickly >>; I can never use that thing right (or maybe it's because Quagsire attracts Skarm for some reason, just like how my Yanma at the moment attracts Snorlax user to all challenge me on the same night... >>; )

Mana Lugia July 13th, 2004 6:52 AM

That's why you whirlwind turn one to test for Magnetons.

And then no problem =[

Besides, HP ground is a 2HKO on Magneton, while Tbolt is a OHKO anyways, so you lose out. Especially if Magneton has speed EVs.

And Quagsire wise, you just gotta keep it alive. It does really well when kept alive.

Frostweaver July 13th, 2004 11:34 AM

I *believe* that if the random number was rolled high enough, a Skarm with max attack/speed EV does have a very good chance at defeating Magneton with standard setup of speed and sp.atk max on both. Most Magneton shouldn't have speed+ so Skarm should be faster with that setup. It'll depend on Magneton if it got any defense invested in it.

Or to prevent Magneton screwing you over, just don't use SKarm ^_^

Simon July 13th, 2004 2:06 PM

In all my entire time of playing NB, I have NEVER encountered a Magneton. NEVER. So I'm not very worried about it. I find Starmie and Blissey more of threat to my entire team.

Mana Lugia July 13th, 2004 2:24 PM

That's because Magneton has absolutely no use in 386. It's somewhat useful in 200 because there aren't as many good pokemon to use, and Skarm is a common sight there, and Magneton is... almost as useful as you can go.

As well, if you stick Skarm in spD evs, why wouldn't magneton have speed Evs?
