Alright, the last one was pretty darn old, so I figured we could start fresh. The last one wasn't very active in the 3 years it was open, so hopefully this one will have better luck. \o/

Here you may discuss upcoming or current projects with other members. :D Here is a good place to get some inspiration and ideas.

Please keep in mind that all PokéCommunity Rules still apply.

Happy posting. (b")b

Well, I used to before I got Photoshop. I was never any good at it though.

Uryū Ishida February 28th, 2008 9:41 PM

I Used Gimp, (as alot of people know) but i upgraded to photoshop recently, i still can work with gimp, if you need any help just ask me.

Renyui! February 28th, 2008 11:31 PM

i use gimp! I like Gimp! Gimp is Yummy and Jelly Filled!
*poke'd suddenly turns hypnotised and eats gimp, then gimp users ban him from the world for eating gimp*

Pikabloo February 29th, 2008 2:12 AM

I've only worked with Photoshop. I used to use Paint Shop Pro, but that was ages ago. Anyway, I was thinking about getting GIMP, just to try it out. Would anyone care to elaborate on the differences between PS and GIMP, like if there's something one program can do that the other can't?

Uryū Ishida February 29th, 2008 5:57 PM

Well considering i have both i can sort of i guess, gimp is a more simple version of PS, and in my opinion is more "USER FRIENDLY" but PS has alot more features, although GIMP isnt too far behind, everything works a bit different, gimp doesn't have as much layer blending as PS, but it is still good, but there is no lasso in gimp, instead i used the "Paths tool", http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=124897 <--you can go to my old Homeroom for the graphics school, it has a guide on setting up gimp( also has a link to the download of the version i used), so if you need to know anything else, just ask me.

Azonic February 29th, 2008 6:01 PM

Oh. Demedian has Photoshop now? Can you tell me some of the new things in Photoshop? Because I'm thinking about getting it.

Also, I'm like totally running out of places to get renders D: And ideas. I have no ideas anymore XD

Pikabloo February 29th, 2008 6:06 PM

Planetrenders and Gamerenders are the main places I go to get renders, although I only go to GR if I'm in desperate need of one. I can't say I know many other places, though :\

And thanks for the help, Ishida ^^ It'll probably take me a while to decide if I'm going to get it, but whatever xD

Loki February 29th, 2008 6:58 PM

I hit planetrenders, aethereality, and uh... luck-of-the-draw-with-photobucket for renders. xD Sometimes I get lucky on photobucket and come by a render.

I think I'm going to start rendering again though. Lately, I've been so lazy. xD All I use are stock images. *Fish'd*

evilcheese February 29th, 2008 7:21 PM

planetrenders is my most used. google is good and sometimes ill be desperate enough to render myself xD.

Uryū Ishida February 29th, 2008 10:13 PM

I agree with you all :P planetrenders and gamerenders are both Great, and Xenocrates Loki ^^, im too lazy to render as well, i dont think i have ever rendered, i think maybe like two times :S, and shira-chan, no problem ^^ glad to help.

Pikabloo February 29th, 2008 10:22 PM

Rendering is a pain. When I started rendering, I actually used the eraser and magic wand tools. Then I started using the lasso tool, and finally, I got to using the pen tool. But my pen tooling still sucks. Gah D:

Stocks are good. Since they have their own background and stuff, so you don't really need to make your own one. It's just what you do to the background to make it look less, er, stock-like which makes it hard-ish. Some of the backgrounds are already good, though, so less work is required to make it look better -shot'd- Personally, I like to spam the smudge tool >.>

I never get lucky with renders on Photobucket. And definitely not on Google. So, erm, stocks for the win?

Idle. March 1st, 2008 1:36 AM

Hmm..looks like a lot more people use PS rather than GIMP.:( I ain't got PS yet.:P.

evilcheese March 1st, 2008 8:44 AM

you can get it for free.... and for rendering yes it is a pain i hate it and im not really good at it. the best banner that i made with rendering it myself is probably this one:

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc3/chimchar59/salamence3-1.gif

Wish March 1st, 2008 8:50 AM

I HATE rendering. You have seen my worst banners that I rendered myself. They always turn out HORRIBLE.

Brandon-kun March 1st, 2008 9:08 AM

I don't like rendering either. it's a big pain and it takes time, and I don't have the patience. :)

Idle. March 1st, 2008 10:18 AM

Yeah, I don't have the time to render. If I did then I might give it a shot but I am extremely busy and don't have enough time to spare :( Its sad really because I could be a rubbish good renderer and so could everyone else who hasn't tried yet :P :)

Pikabloo March 1st, 2008 11:41 PM

Haha, but the moment you try to render something for the first time, and it turns out horrible, most people just immediately stop trying. It takes practice to get rendering right, although there are some who are just good at it from the beginning and that is totally not me.

I remember the time when all I did was use magic wand tool, and it worked perfectly :\

Shika March 2nd, 2008 2:35 AM

Oh, I remember my first banner. Which is like Tokyo Mew Mew as I grabbed a random picture from my sister's computer. All I did was magic wand and erased some parts magic wand acted weird on.

But after a lesson, I started using pen tool from my second banner. I didn't know how to use Lasso though.

Oh, by the way anyone know a good stock site? I wanna try out that stock tutorial. ;D

Idle. March 2nd, 2008 2:52 AM

I don't know any stock sites :S I use PlanetRenders for my renders and I don't use stocks.

Pikabloo March 2nd, 2008 2:54 AM

Photobucket has loads of good stocks. It's just difficult to search for them :D

There are also some websites with tons of anime stocks. I had a good one, but I lost the link. Meh.

Pikachu Trainer~ March 2nd, 2008 7:35 AM

I've only ever used one stock because I can never find any good ones that you don't have to pay for like on iStockPhoto ore other stock image webites. But I get my renders from Planet Renders & GtsPlus.net. There not all brilliant on Planet Renders but they tend to have quite alot of good renders. As for GtsPlus.net they have a great image gallery with all the Sugimori Images of the Pokemon on plus they have some shiny ones coloured by themselves.

~Pikachu Trainer

Uryū Ishida March 2nd, 2008 1:04 PM

Stocks? I ALWAYS USE STOCKS...simply because i'm too lazy to render (although were not going to go over that again xD), but i still use stocks to add to my banner, i normally use google to find some, but i do sometimes use photobucket.

brightparis March 4th, 2008 6:15 AM

Well, I don't have much time to do all this stuff as really very very busy in my life. I wish i could do that and post here mine best art.

Renyui! March 21st, 2008 4:55 PM

hey, what are stocks? im guessing they are already cut out renders.

Aizuke March 21st, 2008 5:02 PM

I thought it was the other way around.

Like stocks are a full picture and a render is the cut out version?

Perfectionist March 21st, 2008 5:39 PM

A render is an image removed from its background.
A stock is an image yet to be rendered (still on its background)

Ashay March 30th, 2008 9:52 PM

Well, I'm not a pro, but here is some of my stuff.

EDIT: I can't link them yet, you'll have to wait until I've got 15 posts :P

Pikabloo March 31st, 2008 1:28 AM

Eheh. Well, I'll be waiting to see some of your stuff, then.

And you're probably going to either have to post a gallery thread in this forum, or post in the Graphics Rating Thread if you want to post your banners ^^ You're most likely to get more replies in those places rather than here, anyway. Oh, welcome to PC ;D

Ashay March 31st, 2008 7:26 AM

Kay, I'll post em in the graphics rating thread, and thanks.

Kurosaki Ichigo March 31st, 2008 7:47 AM

Well it was obvious I'd post in here, nice to see lots of people involved in this area. ^_^

J3 April 1st, 2008 2:44 PM

THIRTY-SIX April 2nd, 2008 1:43 AM

The Graphics Rating Thread [Please read the First Post]
There is where you can get a rating… a lot of members will give great comments and criticism there. Where as I'll just say keep practising! An keep up the enthusiasm…

J3 April 2nd, 2008 5:31 AM

okay thanks for the help ill be sure to post this there

Lucy Lu April 3rd, 2008 4:10 PM

Has anyone "extracted" a image before? Like take it out from the background and then you put it in your background? I worked on my extracting, and I do need a lot of practice, lol. Also recently I been getting more brushes and messed around with them. I am getting better at the brushes and also the layering. Getting that down. Now it is the extracting is the hard part. ^^;

I need to try PlanetRenders. That looks like a good site to go for renders. In The [NEW] Artists' Resources Thread, there a lot of cool sites to check out. I went there and I hit the jackpot. Thanks guys! You will give me the inspiration I need to make my avatars and banners better! I love Photoshop. =D

THIRTY-SIX April 5th, 2008 3:20 AM

I'm glad I we could be of assistance.
Also erm could anyone post links to some great c4d render packs… I feel like going ol style thanks =D

Shadez April 12th, 2008 3:31 AM

i'm a gimp user not a very good one but i like to experiment with things but that's not the point here XD

i was wondering does anyone know if there's a way to like make multiple tabs for your brushes and place certain brushes in one tab and others in an other, so that there more... overseeable(don't know if that's an english word XD)

and if so how do you do it ? :P

thanks in advance

evilcheese April 12th, 2008 7:57 AM

hm i think you mean make it a preset setting? i dont use gimp but i think uryu might help or clade.

Shadez April 13th, 2008 2:44 AM

not sure what you mean with preset setting

but isn't there anyone who uses gimp and knows if this possible?

Renyui! April 20th, 2008 12:49 PM

Hey, can someone render this stock for me?

Pikabloo April 21st, 2008 12:35 AM

I'm sure that there's a rendered version of that image somewhere already, since I used it in my spatter banner a long while ago. I'll try looking for it, if I can find it.

Anyway, I feel like making a tutorial, but I'm struggling to decide which banner it should be for. And, er, I'll need some help in choosing ^^:
I'll put everything in a spoiler o.o
Spoiler:
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b39/Pikabloo/Forum%20Sets/lucian2-2.png
1. Mainly used filters (including displacement), spatter clipping masks, colour blending.

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b39/Pikabloo/Forum%20Sets/lastremnant-2.png
2. Displacement filters, effect C4Ds, colour blending.

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b39/Pikabloo/Forum%20Sets/aquanoborderhb4.png
3. Not too keen on this one. It'll probably teach the same stuff as in the Roxas tutorial I made. Smuuuudging.

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b39/Pikabloo/Forum%20Sets/mushishi-5.png
4. lawls, lots of people liked this, but I thought that the style was too specific to the stock I used. But whatever. Mainly about applying other stocks to the banner and some smudging.

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b39/Pikabloo/Forum%20Sets/roxasbanner5.png
5. Effect C4Ds and colour blending, I believe.

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b39/Pikabloo/Forum%20Sets/narutorasengan-1.png
6. Spatter clipping masks, displacement filters, colour blending, and C4Ds.

Or if you want me to make a tutorial on any other banner you've seen me post up, just tell me what it is, and I'll think about it.

This is, of course, after I make that smudge tutorial. If people still want it o.o

Renyui! April 21st, 2008 12:46 AM

Ooo! Ooo! Pick me Shira-chan!
i pick number two, cause it looks quite cool and would be helpful for people( like me! )
btw i used your splatter tut and my outcome is in my sig :3

evilcheese April 21st, 2008 3:43 PM

@shirauni - make a tutorial for all of them. for me id pick number 4 the blending is very nice. how about the naruto one?

@poke'd - they have a rendered version at planetrenders. O.o

Pikabloo April 22nd, 2008 12:29 AM

Ahah. I might eventually make a tutorial for all of them. Who knows. But maybe I'll just start off with one, for now.

ooh. I knew I was forgetting something xD Yeah. I'll add that to the list. I'm assuming that you're talking about the rasengan one? o.o

Loki April 22nd, 2008 5:12 AM

Beesho's Qweshtun uv deh dae: In which smudge banners, would you be able to tell us the settings you used? xD; Cause it's hard for me to follow a smudge tutorial if I don't know the settings, like on your Roxas one. *Shot'd*

But that aside, I like the Naruto and Gintama and KH secret ending II ones the most.... So yeah. xD

THIRTY-SIX April 22nd, 2008 5:26 AM

Pikabloo if you are making tutorials … then 1, 4 and 6… also the Gintoki one you made a while back…

Pikabloo April 22nd, 2008 5:27 AM

None, actually o_______O

I stick to the same smudge settings for all my smudge banners -shot'd- And the sad thing is that they're someone else's smudge settings. And apparently, I'm not allowed to distribute it. I would just link to it from here, but it's in a forum, and you'd have to log on. Aah. I'll attempt to give a brief description of it in the tutorial, though. I'm pretty sure I can at least show which brush I used o___o

Oh, and what Gintama? The vector one? o.o

lawls. Thanks for the input ^^

BTW, this/these tutorial(s) will probably be done sometime in June. I'll probably end up doing at least half of them >.>

THIRTY-SIX April 22nd, 2008 5:51 AM

No… the one the vector one is base on…this. Well for me at least xD
Oh is it the smudge settings by DarkWolf?

Pikabloo April 22nd, 2008 5:59 AM

Oh, so the non-vector one? Hah, that'll be a pretty short tutorial xD

The smudge settings are by... NoiseLess. I think that's his username. In PlanetRenders.

THIRTY-SIX April 22nd, 2008 6:01 AM

I like short tutorials… since I rea them an never actually follow them xD I use steps from tutorials here and there xD. An I'm not a PR guy so OK xD

Pikabloo April 22nd, 2008 6:03 AM

I could tell you how to make that banner in less than a paragraph o.o

I just took one of the Gintoki renders, and used the cool pattern on his sleeve as the background. Added a smaller version of the render, some colour blending layers, the white line stuff, and tada~

THIRTY-SIX April 22nd, 2008 6:12 AM

Lol I see that now xD Nice grainy texture though =D •steals as gift•

Pikabloo April 25th, 2008 5:17 PM

er... alright, then o.o

Ah, and I'm about halfway through the Naruto tutorial. I got bored enough to start making it... so maybe expect it later today.

Gummy May 10th, 2008 5:53 PM

I have a question but since it doesn't really involve PS, I can't post in in the Q&A thread.

What's the difference between an effect C4D and a normal C4D?

evilcheese May 10th, 2008 6:52 PM

well c4d refers to all c4ds effect, wireframe, render, effect c4d applies affects.

Gummy May 10th, 2008 7:17 PM

Sorry, I still don't get it. Take a look at this tutorial. It says what blending mode to use for each type of C4D, but I want to know how to tell a normal one from an effect one just by looking at it.

Loki May 10th, 2008 7:24 PM

I would say that effect c4d's are much smaller, and just give the banner a little 'effect'. Like... Here, look:

kind-of-big-images-in-spoilers

Does that help at all? D:

edit: Oh, I just looked at the tutorial. Basically, I see effect c4d's as less 'solid' than other c4ds, more transparent colors and shiny things, yeah? Hopefully that helped a little... xD; I wouldn't know 100% if that's the exact definition of an effect c4d though, so y'might want to wait for someone else who uses c4ds more often and is better at explaining to pass by.

Motsuko Live May 10th, 2008 7:30 PM

So where does everyone get their C4D's from?
I use Planet Renders, but I'm starting to run out now.

Any suggestions?

Loki May 10th, 2008 7:32 PM

I get 'em from planet renders and photobucket, but I re-use my c4d's, so running out is kind of more like, 'when do I start recycling'. xD;

evilcheese May 10th, 2008 7:34 PM

well i got mine from gfx sites they have them in packages. and for the blending mode for effect c4ds linear dodge.

Loki May 10th, 2008 7:37 PM

Well, effect c4d's look good on a lot of blending modes, not just linear dodge. <_< I like my linear burn and overlay for c4d's, because linear dodge is really hard on the eyes; I keep linear dodge for my light textures.

And yeah, resource packs are the best place to get awesome c4d's- you can get some pretty nice stuff in packs. I particularly like .psd files. xDD;

Motsuko Live May 10th, 2008 7:39 PM

Yes, well obviously you haven't heard: Recycling = EBEL!

But on a serious note, I sometimes recycle my C4D's. But not often. I guess I just have to always have something new!

evilcheese May 10th, 2008 8:02 PM

@loki - i love psds they are my main learning experiences xD

Pikabloo May 10th, 2008 8:16 PM

I get my C4Ds from C4D/tutorial/stock packs in Planet Renders :3

Graphics resource packs: best thing since sliced bread.

PSD files are definitely useful, especially when they're labeled and such. It's just great to flip through the layers of someone else's banner, and try to learn new little things and idea rip the heck out of others.

Ah, and for C4D blending mode, I tend to use screen, linear dodge or colour dodge. If it's rendered out, I put it on soft light or overlay, or leave it as it is, if it's an abstract/normal C4D. I tend to try most of the blending modes out.

Motsuko Live May 11th, 2008 10:42 AM

YUSH! PSD's are vey, very helpful.

Just asked Loki for a new PSD thread xD
Hopefully it's a go! :3

If no, I cry :<

THIRTY-SIX May 11th, 2008 10:56 AM

Sawyer posted some in the renders thread.

evilcheese May 12th, 2008 5:12 PM

ok i guess i should let you guys have a psd. so anyone pick:

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc3/chimchar59/personal/gereard4.png

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc3/chimchar59/personal/something2.png

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc3/chimchar59/personal/infernape-1.png

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc3/chimchar59/personal/sasuke.png

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc3/chimchar59/personal/dotsu.png

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc3/chimchar59/personal/gaara.png

pick out of those or anything ive made that you think is interesting.

Motsuko Live May 12th, 2008 5:21 PM

I like the Infernape one, and the last one. POST BOTH! :3

If you only post one, I think the Infernape one would be the most educational.

evilcheese May 12th, 2008 6:23 PM

ok i uploaded the infernape. ill do this psd thing every week the first one to ask will get what they want.

Pikabloo May 12th, 2008 8:01 PM

Post all of them -shot'd-

I'm also willing to put up labeled PSDs of my stuff. Just ask, and I'll think about it -shot'd again- I can't be bothered to link my banners. Just look in the previous page, or something x___o

Loki May 13th, 2008 5:28 AM

The Neku banner! >:D

Any of your Neku banners! *shot'd*

Anyway, I'm willing to post one PSD- out of a select few. Yeah, pretty much, all the old/boring ones. xDD

It'll be first come first pick, and me uploading whenever I find the time. ^^ If the first person who comes has a different banner they want, I'll think about it... xD; But most likely the answer'll be no, since I'm stingy like that. <3 and have psd's all over the place and can't be bothered to go find them.

THIRTY-SIX May 13th, 2008 6:32 AM

Cheese: That MCR one D:
Loki: persona3, maybe not the best effects but best perspective.

Motsuko Live May 13th, 2008 12:11 PM

Aw! ^ beat me!

I like the first one Loki (not that it matters, seeing as ^ beat me to it) *glares* xD

So are you not going to post any more PSD's... ever!?!?!

Gummy May 13th, 2008 6:48 PM

The PSD thread was a really good idea. I find the PSDs more helpful than tutorials.

Loki May 13th, 2008 7:29 PM

Gummy: Really? I love tutorials. xD *shot'd*

The best part about psd's? not that anyone asked. Hiding layers and seeing how the layers pile up. xDD;; *loves seeing a banner being done step-by-step from the background up to the finishing touches*

Omigawsh Shira-chan, I'm so glad you posted that Neku banner! >:D It's definitely one of my top favorites of yours. <3

Gummy May 13th, 2008 7:35 PM

Tutorials are sometimes confusing when the person who writes them just names random tools that you've never heard of (not that I'm naming any names...). With PSDs, I can copy observe exactly how people make their effects.

Pikabloo May 13th, 2008 11:50 PM

eheh, no problem ^^ I was actually thinking about uploading both of my Neku banners, but the one I used for SOTW 8 had loads of layers, and I pretty much got lazy. I may upload it some time in the future, though.

And Gummy, I just know that you're talking about me xD.

The only thing better than PSDs are those tutorial + PSD packs, which include the stocks and stuff that the people used. I don't tend to follow everything that the tutorial says word for word, but when some of the stuff are tricky, I follow it really closely the first time, then mess about afterwards.

evilcheese May 14th, 2008 7:23 PM

and you get to rip the layers O.o

well there are a couple of advantages. like its easier for the tutorial writer. a visual aid is better than pic by pic. you get the exact colors (if you need them). and they are way easier to follow.

Pikabloo May 14th, 2008 7:31 PM

That's only if the person allows you to take layers x___o It's one thing to follow a tutorial really closely, and it's another to just take the layers, and simply edit the render/stock or something.

... I just remembered I downloaded a PSD pack >.> -goes to mess about with PSDs- xD

evilcheese May 14th, 2008 7:32 PM

i was joking......

i have like 90 psds from 2 packs. and a bunch of others. without psds i wouldnt be where im at right now.

Pikabloo May 14th, 2008 7:37 PM

lawls o.o -shot'd- -brick'd-

Hur hur. I've mainly used tutorials, actually. I have dozen or two PSDs from the really good people at PR (hur hur), but I just stare at them for inspiration. Because they're so pretty. And stuff. So far, there's only one PSD which I've used as a tutorial, and my outcome sucked xD Though without that one PSD, I wouldn't have learned about the awesome-ness that is displacement filters~

Pinocchio May 15th, 2008 11:02 PM

Ok since this isn't Photoshop I suppose it would fit better here than in the Q/A Thread.
Is Illustrator easier to use when creating images from scratch?

evilcheese May 16th, 2008 12:02 PM

im guessing yes because you cant really sketch thing in photoshop

Pikabloo May 16th, 2008 5:10 PM

Hur hur, you should ask munna (ぱにぽに) about that. He uses Illustrator to draw his rabbits stuff. I did try Illustrator a bit on my friend's laptop. I think it was slightly easier to draw. But I dunno o.o

Pinocchio May 16th, 2008 6:41 PM

Thanks everyone!
I will be sure to ask Munna later on.

Motsuko Live May 22nd, 2008 3:46 PM

Oh my :/
I'm going through an extremely horrific slump right now. Everything I make is a disaster! Does anyone know of any... I don't know, let's say, "motivating art work"? Maybe a little bit of inspiration is all I need to get going again.

Also, my PS is acting up... majorly :|
It starts up fine, but then as soon as I try to add the render to the canvas, it freezes up and crashes. Has this happened to anyone else in the past? If so, what did you do to fix it.
It's not a very pleasant thing to deal with. =[

I dont know, Motsuko, but i might be making a tut on the banner i just posted in the GRT. Should I?
Everyone was asking for a Tutorial, so I decided this one.

Twinx May 23rd, 2008 7:52 AM

Motsuko, does this happen on both of your computers?
I think the problem isn't from photoshop, if anything, it could be because your computer doesn't have enough RAM, but that's a wild guess... Renders can be huge sometimes, so I guess that could be the problem.. Anyway, how much RAM you got?

If that's not the problem, try deleting your preferences file? Some photoshop problems come from a corrupt preferences file. (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop\Preferences). When you delete it, it forces PS to recreate it on next opening.

Poke'd, I haven't seen your banner but tutorials are always useful, for beginners and for advanced users, so if you feel like you have the time to do one, go ahead. I'm sure many people will appreciate it ^^

I wouldn't know if it's easier to draw in Illustrator… since I don't draw xD;
If you are using a tablet… I'd say PS would be ok… you'd get better skin tones that way because of smudging… Illustrator is more for technical drawing… like you see in architecture stuff… although… architects hardly touch Illustrator. xD

Inspiration Jonathan Barnbrook… though he is a typographer o.o
Post the tut here too!

Motsuko Live May 29th, 2008 2:34 AM

K, I fixed the problem... I don't know why it was happening, but I did that preferences thing and it worked. Thanks, DC.

Btw, does anyone know where I can download a crosshair brush set?

Loki May 29th, 2008 9:34 AM

If you want the easiest drawing experience, it'd probably be the best to learn how to work OpenCanvas. (Though I can't figure it out to save my life.)

Otherwise, Illustrator is probably better for designs, rather than drawing. Like, my brother uses it to draw mice for his Lab T-shirts, but they're more surreal and simplistic than like... real mice. He also used it to make a superman symbol with 'N' in the middle instead of S. (For his Neuroscience club. x_o) Again, for T-shirts. :<

So that's the only thing I know about Illustrator being > PS.

I personally draw just fine in PS. o_o; I just use a brush and my tablet and use the penpressure feature. I've only just started inking with my tablet though, and by god it's the biggest pain in the ass I've ever faced.

I've only ever seen people use the pentool with Illustrator though, and you can do that in PS, so I'm not sure myself. xD I have to get around to re-installing Illustrator like I told Sawyer I would. *shot*

Motsuko Live, best guess I can give you is Deviant Art. :<

Shop owners.. Crazy Idea.

I've seen this thing on other forums where members who create graphics for fellow members get payed in forum "bucks" [or whatever depending on the forum software].
How do you feel if members had to give you positive rep for every request that you do?

I think by adding this rule to all graphic shops. it would motivate more people to create graphics shops as they would get something back in return.. though I know most you guys don't really care about User Rep.. Is this a good idea? I better shut up xD

THIRTY-SIX May 30th, 2008 2:08 AM

There used to be a rule where you shouldn't expect rep in return for creating things for others. My old pixel art threads were closed because of asking for rep. ._.
Looks like it got reopened ._.

awww.. I see.
but how about if members only have to give positive rep if they actually use the graphics?

So I just read the reputation rules once again..
Quote:

Reputation is a privilege, not a right.
If there are many reports of abuse, we won't hesitate to disable it once more.
so ya some people might abuse it..

Anyway, I guess since it's against the rules to ask for rep... never mind.

Hai guys. I was thinking of making a shop for tha holidays (Australian) and was wondering of you other guys's opinions? (hope that made sense.)

Twinx July 2nd, 2008 1:41 PM

Rényui, why do you care about what we think? xD If you feel like you've got some time to kill, then do it ^^

So someone revived the Graphics School today. I had forgotten about it's existence really xD
Got me wondering... why does it end up dying everytime? :/

Loki July 2nd, 2008 1:43 PM

I know that I let my class die because I just wasn't good at explaining, and analyzing all those banners was a serious pain in the rear end. xD

As a student though, I'd hate doing the assignments and stuff. It's just so pointless after actually experiencing the way it works, and you don't really learn much from it, IMO. :/

evilcheese July 2nd, 2008 1:54 PM

I "kinda" learrned colors sorta.

Gummy July 2nd, 2008 1:59 PM

I learned a little bit about flow and C4Ds, thanks to evilcheese. That's all I really remember.
