I am not gonna start something up with a mod, so you are right, I am wrong, and I'll leave it at that.

Thanks for your wonderful contribution, Thomas. /o/

To change it to English, these instructions should work:

C:\\Program Files\\GIMP-2.0\\lib\\locale

Delete all the folders that do not start with en_ Then start your gimp and see if the language has changed to English? WARNING you will not be able to change it back to Spanish if you delete all the other folders.

It worked for someone else, hopefully it will work for you.

Thanks, Color, it worked, hopefully I'll be able to understand those tuts better. Once again, thanks.

..PandA.CharadE.. December 25th, 2008 12:13 AM

Is graphic school still open? I wanna join any graphics school for PS there is. :3

Aizuke December 25th, 2008 1:29 AM

PC's graphics school hasn't been active for a while. I guess because most members have been busy with IRL stuff. :\

..PandA.CharadE.. December 25th, 2008 2:02 AM

So the thread is closed? :'( Well, if they decide to open it again, please tell me right away. :3

Aizuke December 25th, 2008 2:53 AM

Not exactly closed, it just died. XD;

Though the last person who made the graphics school, isn't active anymore. So unless anyone else wants to take over?

Though it would be a good idea to inform Allejulah first.

Renyui! December 25th, 2008 3:50 AM

Actually, I was thinking about that the other day.
I'll host it, I suppose. Unless anyone else wants to.

..PandA.CharadE.. December 25th, 2008 5:30 PM

Well i sure hope it gets revived again :3 It would be a great help to new users and probably a spriting school too:)

moments. January 1st, 2009 8:53 PM

Eh it has been a while, I too was thinking of the Graphics School reopening and think it would be a great idea to help improve new users and expand more advanced users as well. Vivaa, if you still want to open it that's cool, otherwise I am happy to open it. :)
I shall ask Allelujah Haptism now!

Pikachu Trainer~ January 2nd, 2009 3:58 AM

It would be great to open the Graphics School again, as it helped me increase the quality of my graphics loads. I need to start posting more on PC. ^__^

Zebra Thunderhead January 2nd, 2009 5:27 AM

I wouldn't mind being a teacher of the school. It'd be fun (again).

Loki January 2nd, 2009 4:00 PM

If you want a spriting school, you'll want to talk to Amachi. ;>

And go for it guys, I don't mind another school, as long as you guys organize it well and... er.

Stick around.

I'm not participating this time, but good luck. :D

moments. January 2nd, 2009 4:01 PM

Well I opened up the thread, if anyone finds any errors or has any suggestions, I am all ears!

..PandA.CharadE.. January 9th, 2009 6:04 PM

Oh yeah, this is just a request but..could someone put up PSDs of the outcome of their tutorials too? I guess it would be easier for some people. Thanks :3

the bitter end. January 9th, 2009 6:09 PM

I think that would be rather difficult PandA ;D

First post here, how is everyone?

Zebra Thunderhead January 9th, 2009 6:10 PM

Tutorials might as well be PSDs...

..PandA.CharadE.. January 9th, 2009 6:18 PM

Oh, i see. Well, it's okay. So how's graphic school?

Zebra Thunderhead January 10th, 2009 4:28 AM

Well it's good because you learn from someone that's used the program a lot before and generally knows what they're doing.

..PandA.CharadE.. January 21st, 2009 11:34 PM

Does anyone know where to download good signature psd packs preferably a mix of anime, game and real people signatures? Thank you :3

Dukey January 22nd, 2009 12:08 AM

Planet Renders.
They have the best stuff.
Resources wise etc etc

Gunners January 22nd, 2009 12:08 AM

Try deviantart.com they got sum good ones

Zebra Thunderhead January 22nd, 2009 3:47 AM

PSDs are harder to find because artists don't why their stuff ripped (why do I rarely ever give them out). But I guess you could find them in the above places.

parallelzero January 23rd, 2009 11:09 AM

Anime Render has some pretty good stuff, but you have to be constantly active / donate money to access a lot of the stuff. I took the latter option since I don't have the time to stay active in that forum. XD

Zebra Thunderhead January 23rd, 2009 11:11 AM

Wow David, that site looks pretty nice. XD

Kayouri February 7th, 2009 8:38 PM

Is there actually a trick to finding stocks that match your render? I'm trying to figure out how to make signatures with stocks. Thanks.

Zebra Thunderhead February 7th, 2009 8:41 PM

Erm, well, you're really supposed to build the tag around the stock, not vice versa. But your question was kind of confusing.

Kayouri February 7th, 2009 8:55 PM

You mean you just add some effects to a stock?

Zebra Thunderhead February 7th, 2009 9:05 PM

I have no idea what you're trying to ask. |:

Kayouri February 7th, 2009 9:15 PM

Oh, sorry. I meant if you're gonna use a stock as a background, what are the only stocks you can use? ex. Environmental Stocks, City Stocks etc..

Zebra Thunderhead February 8th, 2009 5:36 AM

OH. Using environment stocks as backgrounds does depend on the stock. I mean, you wouldn't want to put a happy looking stock in a depressing background, unless you like juxtaposition?

Comic Tragedy February 8th, 2009 8:49 AM

Meh. Juxtaposition is only beautiful/symbolistic to a point in my opinion. I think when its in a tag, its just, stupid.

Zebra Thunderhead February 8th, 2009 1:50 PM

That's nice and all but I was just trying to explain something to her. |:

Comic Tragedy February 9th, 2009 7:36 AM

Oh hah. Wow I must sound like a biggit.

I didn't realize sorry, I thought it was simply a discussion. xD

oske February 9th, 2009 4:58 PM

I used this: [My sig] for my entry for the WBC this week at SPPf. The theme this week is sound, I'm also using it as my sig here, because I'm lazy. I decided to do Beck as a banner is because the entire plot to the manga/anime is based around music, so it fits pretty well with the theme.

Aizuke February 9th, 2009 5:38 PM

You do realise it's 20px high over the limit here..

oske February 10th, 2009 6:06 AM

Sorry, I come from Serebii. So I'm still getting used to it. I shall fix it.

Kayouri February 15th, 2009 12:11 AM

Does anyone know any textures/patterns/brushes similar to the ones used here?

Deviantart searches are fun.

Zebra Thunderhead February 15th, 2009 6:36 AM

dA is the prime place to search for stuff. AppendixSquared and dearest are my personal favorites. :B

Conman February 15th, 2009 11:22 AM

I lack the ability to make good tags anymore since my break/hiatus for some reason T_T I'm also suffering from the fact that I wanna make a new tag...but I lack any inspiration.

Kayouri February 19th, 2009 3:53 AM

I get inspiration from other's tags especially CME's and Tiny's. I get some from watching TV and magazines too.

Loki February 19th, 2009 2:58 PM

Inspiration is for SQUARES.

It comes from the HEART.

I personally just get a stock/png and work around that with whatever comes to mind. D: Works for me...

Deviantart is a god. ;O

You can get the circles at deviantart, or livejournal.

Zebra Thunderhead February 19th, 2009 6:42 PM

Just search circle brushes on dA. :o

Kayouri February 19th, 2009 6:46 PM

Oh, sorry if that was confusing. Not the polka dots, the circle she put behind the render. I'm really sorry if my questions are always so confusing...

Is graphic school still open? If so, I'd love to join! :>

Loki March 4th, 2009 5:33 PM

Hey guys, what's up?

I was thinking of cleaning up the stickies a little, as the top of the page looks a little crowded as of now.

Okay. So I was only thinking of un-sticking one thread. <_< What say you guys to unsticking photoshop Q & A, and leaving that for this lounge here?

Just want some opinions. :>

THIRTY-SIX March 4th, 2009 10:12 PM

I actually never really saw the point of this thread myself. xD

Tutorial & Resources thread…

Loki March 7th, 2009 6:45 PM

This thread is just for general discussion, questions about everything and anything, and stuff. :|

Photoshop Q & A restricts it to photoshop only. :/

And that is brilliant.

It shall be done.

Dukey March 7th, 2009 6:46 PM

We should completely turn this place into DCC for people who are awesome 8D

Comic Tragedy March 7th, 2009 7:03 PM

Harharhar. Really, for people who are awesome? xD
I mean, I have always envisioned this as a DCC for the Graphics section, but I spose no one else sees it but you 22! >.<

Zebra Thunderhead March 7th, 2009 7:05 PM

What else would people see it as?

Dukey March 7th, 2009 7:08 PM

Tbh, until now, I thought me had to talk about Graphics in here, but whatever, we can party nao.
\O/ We see it CT XD

Gummy March 7th, 2009 7:12 PM

I guess this will turn out like the Fanfiction Lounge, just graphics flavored. But I think we should maintain topics from time to time so things don't get out of hand.

Obviously. We don't need a carbon copy of OC DCC.

Loki March 7th, 2009 7:31 PM

As long as you guys don't get too off-topic I don't mind. :<

Basically I mean, there shouldn't be a need for Gummy's suggestion that we should maintain topics.

This is really only for graphics, so we shouldn't need to do that, but if you deviate a little, it's not like I'm going to make a big deal out of it. xD; Just use your common sense, ya?

Anyways, like I said. xD

DD:

And one more thing:

Do you guys want me to put Gallery:, Shop: in front of Gallery and Shop titles, so that it's easier to see which is which? I can change the format too, like I can make it [Gallery] and [Shop] rather than the colon. It would impede on your artistic freedom with your titles, but it'd make navigation easier. Y/N? D:

Dukey March 7th, 2009 7:36 PM

Well. I suppose that might work, but if this place is kinda concentrated on a topic at the time, it mightn't get answered.

Zebra Thunderhead March 7th, 2009 7:36 PM

I vote yes on prefixes. (b'-')b

Loki March 7th, 2009 7:37 PM

My vote is a yes as well, for the record. xD;

Zebra Thunderhead March 7th, 2009 7:44 PM

I prefer brackets over colons, though.

Loki March 7th, 2009 7:45 PM

xD; Me too CME. Me too. That's why I mentioned them.

And one more question for you guys- if you like the idea that is.

In front of the title, so they'll all be lined up at the side of the forum page:

[Gallery] Haptic's Showcase

Or after it:

Haptic's Showcase [Gallery]

Zebra Thunderhead March 7th, 2009 7:46 PM

Great minds think alike. XD

I prefer them aligned on the left, they'd be easier to find.

Dukey March 7th, 2009 7:52 PM

Left pleasums.
Am I a great mind? :3

Gummy March 7th, 2009 7:56 PM

To the left, to the left~

Sorry, my sister has been listening to Beyonce all day O_O. But yeah, I agree with it being in brackets and aligned left.

Zebra Thunderhead March 7th, 2009 7:58 PM

... that Beyonce just ruined the left side for me. Thanks.

Dukey March 7th, 2009 8:01 PM

Beyonce should put a ring on it and shut up.

Micro March 7th, 2009 9:25 PM

It looks better on the left imo.

Loki March 7th, 2009 9:41 PM

So I'm assuming everyone -so far- is in favor of adding categories to the front of the threads and such?

Hoo boy. <_< Lot's of touch-ups to get done in the future.

I'll leave the categories open to discussion a little longer. :>

moments. March 7th, 2009 10:05 PM

Awesome idea Loki!
Yeah left aligned is much better!

Comic Tragedy March 8th, 2009 5:56 AM

Agreed. And good idea, It will make this forums thread navigation one notch easier.

Mr. Epic March 10th, 2009 10:59 AM

On the left is better but I don't see the point in this thing because knowing if its a shop or gallery really doesn't matter as there is never many new/active threads here so people will most likely check all of them and most importantly if the maker wants it in their title they can write it in themselves, plus in my opinion it will look horrible having lots of threads with these things in their title.

Loki March 10th, 2009 3:40 PM

Yeah, but this is mostly for our visitors- not our residents. Basically what I mean is, for the kiddies who are just passing by for a theme or something, they don't have to go into every thread to find a shop- and they don't have to like, try and decipher the titles.
And if we implement this, then ALL the threads would get this in front of them, so it'd be consistent. Which is why I was thinking that it wouldn't look too bad.
If more people object to this, speak now, or forever hold your peace, because I'll probably implement this this weekend unless more people tell me they hate the idea... If it turns out to look gross, like Psychometric said it might, then I'll scrap the idea. [/no harm done, hurrr]

It's just an experiment, so we'll see... :B

THIRTY-SIX March 11th, 2009 1:09 AM

It will look odd. And if it's so the kiddies can tell if it's a shop or gallery. Wouldn't it be better to just have [Shop] or a variation in a request thread.

Loki March 12th, 2009 6:57 PM

Wait, weird punctuation- or I'm reading this wrong.

Like, make them put it... in the first post of the shop? like they do now...?

THIRTY-SIX March 12th, 2009 11:02 PM

Thread title. That's what you were talking about…

But fair point if it says shop in the first line then maybe thread titles are needed.

I never seem to understand what you're saying; I'm sorry! ;; *facedesk* This always happens... Can I just get a straight "support" or "do not support" so I can at least understand whether you're saying you like or dislike the idea? o_O

~
Okay, so I don't even know if I'll have time to do it this weekend, so depending on Sunday's activities, I may not even implement it. xD; I WILL DO IT THOUGH, IF YOU APPROVE.

Micro March 25th, 2009 8:13 PM

How do you make signature tutorials? :3

Loki March 25th, 2009 8:15 PM

There's multiple ways of going about it, but here's the two that I know of/utilize:

You can upload multiple images for each of your steps and write out the steps in a post.
Or, you can make one super huge image in photoshop, and then paste your steps and examples onto that image.

Micro March 25th, 2009 8:25 PM

Oh, thank you Loki :3

Just one more question, how do you upload PSDs for people to download? :3

Aizuke March 25th, 2009 8:34 PM

You can use varies places to upload PSD's for people to download. Mostly sites that let you upload files, such as megaupload.

Micro March 25th, 2009 8:53 PM

Thankies Aizuke :3

Oh yeah, btw, where do you guys get most of your resources other than DA?

Aizuke March 25th, 2009 9:03 PM

Resources... Most of mine are from DA. XD; Or I just find anything I can use really. Depends on what you're looking for. Most of the time google helps.

Though, I do take photographs of stuff and use them. Such as the light effects I've used in recent banners I've made, they're from photographs I took when I went with my friend to watch fireworks.

Conman March 26th, 2009 12:52 PM

I get most of my 3D resources (C4D, Fractals, etc) from dA. Two other main sites are GIMPtalk and GameRenders, in the resources section of course.

As for stock resources I usually just Google whatever I'm looking for. Yet again, the mentioned sites also have those too. Some other good sites are Image*After, stock.xchng, and Game Depiction

Finally we have texture resources. This is the best site for textures IMO, ColorFilter.net.

I get my resources, as well as the others said, from DA. Planetrenders is great for renders, and Google always helps if you want a texture or stock.

Also, a good search on photobucket sometimes can score you a few stocks as well!

Nitrous Oxide March 30th, 2009 6:40 PM

So what's the deal with this place? There's like 6 or 7 of you that huddle up into a little group and no one's ever bothered to even comment on my stuff, either in my thread or VM. Can you guys please be a little more open? :|

Not really begging for votes, but I'd at least like some kind of acknowledgment from some people here. I mean, my thread has been open for almost 24 hours with not a single comment, and I'm sure that anyone who views my stuff can at least pick out one tag that they like and say why or whatever...

Well, I do, on dA... but dA isn't exactly a good place for tags either.

Then there's Game Renders, but I get maybe about 3 replies to my threads which only gives me a small idea.
