I'd make one if I had any tags worth a tutorial. >_> I haven't made anything of value in so long... ;_;

Postman November 11th, 2008 7:32 PM

I was going to make a tutorial out of -this- (45 layers) but I'm not even sure if it's tutorial worthy...

Twinx November 12th, 2008 5:20 AM

I remember doing a crappy PSD tutorial a few months ago.. but I never posted it...

I guess I could try to find it.. I wonder.. where's the best place to upload .psd files?

Rockéttes November 12th, 2008 5:40 AM

Compress it with winRAR (or just zip it) and upload it here. (You need to create an account; it's free and totally worth it.)

Then just direct link to it, and we'll be able to download the .zip. Easy, huh?

I didn't think this belongs in the Photoshop Q/A so I will post it here.
I have a banner in Photoshop which is 300x100px in size. But when I upload it to Tinypic, then post it as an image on PokeCommunity, it is squished a little bit and it looks all blurry.
I have tried saving it as both a Jpeg and a PNG file and both get squished.
Help please?

Renyui! November 22nd, 2008 12:15 AM

Try uploading it to Photobucket. Tinypic might actually make things tiny xP

Vkazuic November 22nd, 2008 3:11 AM

Yeah, best to go with Photobucket or ImageShack.

Never tried uploading anything on Tinypic myself. :x Since PB and Imageshack are rather popular.

moments. November 22nd, 2008 3:16 AM

Hmm I just uploaded it to Photobucket and tried posting it again here but it still looks all blurry and a bit small...
It is either something to do with PokeCommunity, or how my computer views it.

Vkazuic November 22nd, 2008 3:18 AM

Hm.. Maybe you should post the image/link and then screenshot what it actually looks like?

THIRTY-SIX November 22nd, 2008 3:22 AM

Screen shot also needs uploading to the internet. .o.'

Try using imageshack.us

Also save for web and save as have slightly different colour and other settings.

Try using save for web.

Also it could be your browser. My firefox makes the colours brighter and gif images are faster than when viewing on safari.

moments. November 22nd, 2008 3:27 AM

Sorry what is 'save for web'?
Is that an option on Imageshack?

THIRTY-SIX November 22nd, 2008 3:29 AM

It is an option in photoshop.

Vkazuic November 22nd, 2008 3:29 AM

I think it's an option in photoshop.. Isn't it? :x

Argh, beaten. XD;

moments. November 22nd, 2008 3:51 AM

Oh ok I will test that out now.
EDIT: Ok I figured out what it is. When I am on PokeCommunity, the default zoom is like one less than normal so everything shrinks including my banner. That was the problem, thanks to you two who helped me out!

Vkazuic November 22nd, 2008 3:12 PM

Not a problem, sometimes that happens to me too because of the roller button on my mouse and holding down ctrl. XD;

Renyui! December 12th, 2008 12:45 AM

Hey all.

I need some pokemon renders. Not like Sugimori or Arkeis, but like the ones Aizuke/Closer uses. Could you link me to it?

Post some of the examples you're talking about, that why we can try and rule out what you're looking for exactly.

I'm guessing the one used in this banner. hope you don't mind, Closer

Star★Seeker December 16th, 2008 5:41 PM

Um... hi! Well, I have a problem with my Gimp. It's just that even though I'm a latino, most tuts are in english and I'm actually more comfortable using it in english, so... how do I change it to english? Also, for some reason, I can't seem to make clipping mask, even though I follow all the steps in the tutorial. Any ideas?

Zebra Thunderhead December 16th, 2008 6:07 PM

What are you having trouble translating, GIMP or the tutorials?

Oh, pardon my stupidity. I was just asking if there is some way I could change my Gimp's language to english again

Thomas December 16th, 2008 6:26 PM

I only use GIMP I have to, like if I am on my laptop with only Linux on it. So I try to avoid it at all costs. lol I just am too in love with my Paint Shop Pro X. xD

Zebra Thunderhead December 16th, 2008 6:34 PM

Thanks for your wonderful contribution, Thomas. /o/

To change it to English, these instructions should work:

C:\\Program Files\\GIMP-2.0\\lib\\locale

Delete all the folders that do not start with en_ Then start your gimp and see if the language has changed to English? WARNING you will not be able to change it back to Spanish if you delete all the other folders.

It worked for someone else, hopefully it will work for you.

Isn't this the Graphics Lounge? Did I click on the wrong link? Was I offtopic? You were talking about gimp, so I made my comment on the program. BTW...sarcasm doesn't suit you...so don't wear it.
