Attack Damage Computation
Hi guys, I was wondering if this is true. I know that a super-effective attack yields x2 damage. If a Pokemon, let's say, a Water/Ground type, a Grass-type attack would yield x4 damage.
But... what about STAB? A Grass-type Pokemon using a Grass-type attack gains STAB, which ups the attack damage 50%. So, would the damage dealt be (4 x .5) x6? And... What if the attack lands a Critical Hit, that doubles the damage done. Would the damage be (6 x 2) x12? |

Charizard using Blast Burn w/ Choice Specs on Parasect (Grass/Bug)
4(super effective) x 1.5(STAB) x 1.5(Choice Specs) x 2 (Critical Hit) x 150 (power of Blast Burn) = 2700 damage to poor little Parasect, not taking into account it's stats. Thats a x18 boost. Don't know why, but I had to do that 8D. |
Ive discovered that a krabby with bubble, no SpAtt EV/IVs, will do half a % of damage to a blissey with maxed SpDef/HP :)

This should have been asked in the Q&A thread in Strategiese & Movesets in my opinion, but it has been answered and the last two posts have nothing to do.
In simple, everything you said is correct. -CLOSED- |
