What do you think is in the GS ball?

Remember the GS ball that nobody could open? well, what do you think is in it?

EmeraldSky February 25th, 2008 3:45 PM

A Pokemon that has yet to formally be named or IDed

Yea.

I can't understand why they spent a whole season trying to get that ball and they never went in to what was actually in it. >.>

That was a little disappointing, in my opinion. They could have at least tied it into the Celebi movie or something...

I mean, I always thought Celebi was in it. It would have been an interesting story, to see who made the ball and why, and what they caught in it.

WHAT A WASTE!!!!

Joycey98 February 25th, 2008 4:25 PM

Nothing is in the GS ball. I believe it was just a sneaky thing that the makers of Pokemon did so that they could distract the audience with a storyline that was easy to use while they planned for further updates for the anime. I also don't think that they will bring it back, they probably forgot about it...

SBaby February 25th, 2008 9:28 PM

Probably a better plot for Pokemon. Hence, why they didn't open it.

But the GS Ball is one of the reasons alot of people on Serebii hate Jhoto so much.

Here's a thought. If the Sinnoh arc is becoming like Johto, as many fans are claiming, will the animators attempt to do another version of the GS Ball?

Food for thought.

BakingBluePotatoe February 25th, 2008 10:33 PM

hm... you're saying they might reveal the mysteries of the GS Ball during the Sinnoh Arc? O_O

hm... perhaps Arceus has something to do with it...

GKS February 26th, 2008 5:33 PM

I think it was Celebii in it, that is how it was in the game.

Commander_Latios February 26th, 2008 5:58 PM

for a while, i figured it was either ho-oh or celebi in the GS ball.

Then i figured out we'll never know, as it was just a useless thing made only to help advance the plot...

I wish. No, I'm merely saying that if they wanted to, they could replicate the plotpoint, or create a parallel storyline, whichever.

Wait, how is it becoming like Johto?

I could see Shaymin have being sealed in it, and is released in the 11th movie ;) Just my lil dreams <.<;

Uh, the endless fillers, the spreading out the Gyms, the gamer contention that Gen II and IV are connected, game-wise.

How's that?

Sekushi Sushi* February 27th, 2008 9:12 PM

Well, I knew for a fact a Ho oh was gonna pop out one day but never happened! Maybe they will revisit the ball and arceus will come out of it in a movie

DarkKnight541 February 28th, 2008 12:14 PM

It was probably just a filler thing.

flareonmaster February 28th, 2008 1:29 PM

I think that the GS ball is the only which is able to catch celebi
Maybe some evil team rocket guys steal it and catch Celebi with it ^^

Jorah February 28th, 2008 2:04 PM

I have heard that the GS Ball contains Brock's personality, Ash's brain, Team Rocket's money, and much more...

No, because the GS ball was created before Arceus, technically. I'd say if they ever do tell us what's inside it out of boredom, it'll be Celebi.

Impossible. If Ash's brain was in there, then the GS Ball must have been created before the series even started. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v634/Gamerman/Image%20Macros/yelwacko.gif

A universe beyond our comprehension, where little children dance around fountains while wearing pants out of goat legs. A magical place, where noobs are not a problem on the Internet but are rather quite helpful when they can be. A place where dubbed forms of anime are accepted by hardcore and generic fans alike. And, above all else, a place where wars and death do not exist on a day-to-day basis, and everybody has the food and resources to survive on their own without any need for money.

But, seriously, it doesn't matter since we'll never see it again.

P_S_B March 3rd, 2008 1:27 AM

What's in the GS Ball: All the cool ideas for good episodes and plots etc, but the anime producers can't open it either, so they have to resort to repetitive filler episodes instead.

Guest123_x1 March 11th, 2008 2:45 PM

probably nothing

From the way I see it, the GS Ball might not even be a Pokemon capturing or storage ball at all! (It could instead be a solid object with no hollow core or interior.)

Amp March 11th, 2008 2:54 PM

Duh. Misty's replacement bike is in there.

HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAH! It was a waste of a pokeball.

bobandbill March 11th, 2008 10:19 PM

The most powerful of them all - Magikarp. Bow down to it, I say!

It was basically just the hook, I think, for the series then - although I'm not really knowlegable about the Anime...

Charaxes March 13th, 2008 2:13 PM

I'll say it's Nintendo's collective intellect and common sense. Why else did they did abandon the Gym Leader Castle concept for Gamecube and Wii? Or create the massive embassment that was Battle Revolution? Shifty eyes.

yeah, i think that's probably the truth. it also contains the reason they made captain falcon's final smash the thing where he runs people over with the blue falcon, instead of making it the uber-pawnch of uberness ^_^ (and i watched the show, OK, i know what really happened.)

Rebel Charizard April 10th, 2008 2:03 AM

What if, the GS ball is portal to another world where pokemon are the trainers and humans are the ( how do i put it ) what we refer to as pokemon. And maybe poke balls in that world are gold/silver not red/white. Hmm

YellowPen April 10th, 2008 3:26 AM

its probably some inside joke only the writers know

and they are probably laughing at people trying to figure it out

Kyoru April 10th, 2008 11:13 AM

Isn't it just a plot hole? If I remember correctly in-game it was a key item which couldn't be used or opened. It was just placed at the shrine so Celebi would appear.

Mitchman April 10th, 2008 11:15 AM

The G/S ball when opened will waken ash from his coma thus ending pokemon.

PokeMaster1 April 10th, 2008 11:31 AM

Celebi is inside the GS Ball.

Charaxes April 11th, 2008 10:12 AM

Giant, flesh-eating bunnies. Because Celebi is just a MacGuffin for you to open it. Mwahaha!

And, yes, there is an actual movie based on giant flesh-eating rabbits (thanks, "Night of the Lepus").

Rye29 April 11th, 2008 8:29 PM

Hmmm.... the GS ball. It's probably some rare Pokemon, like a legendary or something similar. The writers ditched the whole thing plot a while ago, so I guess we'll never know.

Tré April 12th, 2008 3:05 AM

well maybe this gs ball arc is a filler or something i think.....am i right??

Patrick_ April 15th, 2008 2:29 PM

why did they magnify the GS ball (and Ho-oh) so much if they never came back to it? I always thought Ash was going to use it to catch either Lugia or Ho-oh. The 2nd movie debunked the Lugia part, but Ho-oh is still a mystery if they'll ever get back to that.

Ho-Oh April 15th, 2008 9:59 PM

It was probably representative of everything gold and silver stood for.

There are no orange islands in the game right? So, the whirl islands could've representated that... which would be where the Silver/Lugia part of the representation came from. Orange, which is colour less oftenly used could represent the various colours and races in this world, and a rainbow (or orange could just be gold, too.) That's where the whole rainbow/gold/Ho-Oh part would come in.

But, then there was Brock's thing with... Prof. Ivy? (Not sure about the name) Which could've represented the contrast between two different backgrounds, professor and breeder... such as a mixing of different races.

In the end, I think the GS ball represents what the writers want to be, cultural diversity within a nation (being the Pokémon world.)

Not quite. Don't forget those three episodes with the baby lugia. they could've caught it or it's mom, they were just not smart enough to.

again, not quite. the whirl islands tie into the aforementioned baby lugia episodes.

other than that. that's a pretty nice idea.

Ever since hearing ash say he felt it move/alive, my bet has been Ho-oh, though My memory is hasty either he said that at all.

austin00081 April 17th, 2008 4:30 PM

I honestly think it was a filler.
When I was 9, when the G/S show came out, I thought it was a Celebii.

But, if you notice:
G and S stand for Gold and Silver, the colors of the ball

So it was probably just a filler, or a reminder that it was the johto season.

OR, during the time this show was out, pokemon had began to become less popular, and they may have added the GS ball to have some plot supporter to keep people watching to find out what was in it. Therefor, having the show get more views.

But in the japanese Crystal version, it is said that you can get the GS ball, and when you do, you can place it in the shrine in the Ilex Forest, and you can encounter Celebi.

But who knows..

Vyro April 18th, 2008 6:59 PM

Better yet, Bill Cosby's rap album is in the GS Ball.

Taemin April 21st, 2008 8:16 PM

Oh I wonder, wonder what's in the wonderball..

Personally, I found the whole GS ball thing totally pointless, even when I was younger.
I also never knew what was inside, if anything, because I didn't watch much of Johto.

112395 April 22nd, 2008 6:04 PM

I think it was just i filler to attract Celebi when put in the hole of Illex's shrine for the game. As for the anime... well did Ash ever go to Illex forest to it?

IIRC no. In the end he just dropped it off with one of the Prof. and that was the end of that tale.

SkittyLover77 April 26th, 2008 9:11 PM

Oni Rai, what right do you have to call people n00bs? >_>

Anyways...

I believe that Arceus created his son, Jeceus, in that ball, but then realized the ball was made completely of stone, therefore crushing his five-minute old son to death. Arceus, enraged, threw the GS ball into a concrete wall. It broke in half, revealing not Arceus's dead son, but, as SilverSmeargle predicted, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. This pleased Arceus and he repaired the ball, replacing the top half with gold as he happily munched on his peanut butter jelly sandwich.

Good times.

bruom April 30th, 2008 2:30 PM

the answer is... we! we are inside the ball. the ball we see in the anime is just a smaller version of the ball we are inside. inside the ball in the anime, exactly the same: our world. and another smaller ball. and this keeps going forever, until it becomes to boring for the one whos creating our world story, so he will just put a peanut butter and jelly sandwich inside it...
ok, for real, then the GS ball is where all dreams are in. when its opened, the dreams come true. why is it locked? because the person who did it was having a nightmare :p

solopy567 April 30th, 2008 6:26 PM

SkittyLover, does that mean that Arceus's five minute year old son and a peanut butter jelly sandwich are in there? Sweet

bruom, that's like an infinite paradox that would make Psyduck's confusion the strongest attack in the world

pkmaster May 2nd, 2008 1:29 PM

other possibilities

actually the G/S/C gameboy games, celibi was possible to get but only with a gameshark though. remember the shrine in ilex forest? well onnce u use gameshark to get the GS ball then go to the shrine, battle it and try to catch, imnot sure if u catch with the actual GS ball though. SInce the GS ball probably means gold and silver it will be celibi or some new pokemon that they say it will now be a johto pokemon.

no sinnoh, hoen, or past that pokemon ooookkk. ok. now what about another possibility. A human. i mean hav u ever thought that it was to seal someone evil like in battle frontier?

otherwise it was a filler.

Never woulda thought of that. which is wierd, considering the posessed Ash was one of abour four battle frontier episodes I actually LIKED.
