What's in the GS Ball: All the cool ideas for good episodes and plots etc, but the anime producers can't open it either, so they have to resort to repetitive filler episodes instead.

Guest123_x1 March 11th, 2008 2:45 PM

probably nothing

From the way I see it, the GS Ball might not even be a Pokemon capturing or storage ball at all! (It could instead be a solid object with no hollow core or interior.)

Duh. Misty's replacement bike is in there.

supertails March 11th, 2008 8:05 PM

She never got it back from Ash. I think the good times she spent was worth more though.

Oh, OK, that makes sense.

I like this idea. It makes the most sense so far.

But, seriously, it doesn't matter since we'll never see it again.

HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAH! It was a waste of a pokeball.

The most powerful of them all - Magikarp. Bow down to it, I say!

It was basically just the hook, I think, for the series then - although I'm not really knowlegable about the Anime...

I'll say it's Nintendo's collective intellect and common sense. Why else did they did abandon the Gym Leader Castle concept for Gamecube and Wii? Or create the massive embassment that was Battle Revolution? Shifty eyes.

yeah, i think that's probably the truth. it also contains the reason they made captain falcon's final smash the thing where he runs people over with the blue falcon, instead of making it the uber-pawnch of uberness ^_^ (and i watched the show, OK, i know what really happened.)

What if, the GS ball is portal to another world where pokemon are the trainers and humans are the ( how do i put it ) what we refer to as pokemon. And maybe poke balls in that world are gold/silver not red/white. Hmm

YellowPen April 10th, 2008 3:26 AM

its probably some inside joke only the writers know

and they are probably laughing at people trying to figure it out

Kyoru April 10th, 2008 11:13 AM

Isn't it just a plot hole? If I remember correctly in-game it was a key item which couldn't be used or opened. It was just placed at the shrine so Celebi would appear.

Mitchman April 10th, 2008 11:15 AM

The G/S ball when opened will waken ash from his coma thus ending pokemon.

PokeMaster1 April 10th, 2008 11:31 AM

Celebi is inside the GS Ball.

Charaxes April 11th, 2008 10:12 AM

Giant, flesh-eating bunnies. Because Celebi is just a MacGuffin for you to open it. Mwahaha!

And, yes, there is an actual movie based on giant flesh-eating rabbits (thanks, "Night of the Lepus").

Rye29 April 11th, 2008 8:29 PM

Hmmm.... the GS ball. It's probably some rare Pokemon, like a legendary or something similar. The writers ditched the whole thing plot a while ago, so I guess we'll never know.

Tré April 12th, 2008 3:05 AM

well maybe this gs ball arc is a filler or something i think.....am i right??

Patrick_ April 15th, 2008 2:29 PM

why did they magnify the GS ball (and Ho-oh) so much if they never came back to it? I always thought Ash was going to use it to catch either Lugia or Ho-oh. The 2nd movie debunked the Lugia part, but Ho-oh is still a mystery if they'll ever get back to that.

Ho-Oh April 15th, 2008 9:59 PM

It was probably representative of everything gold and silver stood for.

There are no orange islands in the game right? So, the whirl islands could've representated that... which would be where the Silver/Lugia part of the representation came from. Orange, which is colour less oftenly used could represent the various colours and races in this world, and a rainbow (or orange could just be gold, too.) That's where the whole rainbow/gold/Ho-Oh part would come in.

But, then there was Brock's thing with... Prof. Ivy? (Not sure about the name) Which could've represented the contrast between two different backgrounds, professor and breeder... such as a mixing of different races.

In the end, I think the GS ball represents what the writers want to be, cultural diversity within a nation (being the Pokémon world.)

Not quite. Don't forget those three episodes with the baby lugia. they could've caught it or it's mom, they were just not smart enough to.

again, not quite. the whirl islands tie into the aforementioned baby lugia episodes.

other than that. that's a pretty nice idea.

Ever since hearing ash say he felt it move/alive, my bet has been Ho-oh, though My memory is hasty either he said that at all.

austin00081 April 17th, 2008 4:30 PM

I honestly think it was a filler.
When I was 9, when the G/S show came out, I thought it was a Celebii.

But, if you notice:
G and S stand for Gold and Silver, the colors of the ball

So it was probably just a filler, or a reminder that it was the johto season.

OR, during the time this show was out, pokemon had began to become less popular, and they may have added the GS ball to have some plot supporter to keep people watching to find out what was in it. Therefor, having the show get more views.

But in the japanese Crystal version, it is said that you can get the GS ball, and when you do, you can place it in the shrine in the Ilex Forest, and you can encounter Celebi.

But who knows..

Vyro April 18th, 2008 6:59 PM
