This team is Uber you know...right? I saw Vileplume and I'm like "OMFG UBERZ!"

I'm planning to go IceQuakeFall myself and drop the taunt. That way, I have more reliablity in my moves.

The team does require some setup, and against people who like to play a hasty beatdown at times will prevent you from doing so in an easy way. Your best bet would be vs. Stall teams that can set up without much threat coming straight out of the first attack. If you want less setup, try out CBDos, but that'll ruin the "bulky sweeper" thing. Metagross may sound good, but 3 fire weaknesses is a problem. Dragonite does the same, only on the Ice spectrum.

That and you tend to freak on people who criticize your favorites.

sims796 April 30th, 2008 2:48 PM

Of course, I can only "freak" when they say something that is widely untrue, or especially half thought. If anyone on this thread is remotely smart, have a shred of intellegence, I won't have a need to freak. Seriously, stupidity is annoying, especially when it's done to my favorites. What REALLY grinds my gears about it is when I clearly say, several times, "I AM KEEPING VILEPLUME!", yet people still suggest him off, as if they can't read. If THOSE are the reason people don't respond, then so be it. They can take their uppity, self righteous selves out of my thread, which I see all over this forum. It is pretty annoying when I look at my user CP, just to see something unhelpful pop up.

I also freak when people bark things around as if these changes must be made. Samson was the perfect example of what I am looking for in a rate. No "you must use this", just a warning of exactly I am looking for. He knows that I know what I am doing when I make these somewhat odd teams, but I often lose sight of some detail. So he tells me. Good, now I can see what I can do to fix it.

And any good rater can give me some options, which is usually what I am looking for. Sure, I am fickle, but that's because I don't want to settle. I do not want to use something I don't like, or it won't be fun for me. Maybe all of you can just throw crap together and be happy with it, I can not.

Now, to the only one (whille I was gone) who actually helped, CBDos sounds good. Of course, then I'd still be Ttar weak. How is ScarfDos?

Anti April 30th, 2008 3:19 PM

You do sometimes get too defensive though :P

Anyways, no Gyarados is going to stop you from being Tar weak considering Stone Edge is going to wipe it out in one hit most likely. Even if it doesn't, Gyarados will be in critical condition and Tar can just come again later.

The best counters are those that resist its STAB attacks. Forretress is pretty good, so something like a rock resist to help it out is helpful. I haven't looked at your team update in awhile, but I can tell you that without a rock resist, countering Tyranitar simply isn't going to happen.

sims796 April 30th, 2008 3:27 PM

Yeah, I do. But understand, not without reason. For instance, Blueberry's post kinda put me in a foul mood. I don't mind the critizism, I really don't, Aquallie showed that. But, well, I said the rest.

Forry wouldn't be too good, since Ttar also carrys Fire Blast. Really, Hitmontop makes the most sense, but I'm just not too keen on it's set. I guess I'll try both Rolling Kick & probably Pursuit. O+I might remove Rapid Spin, as I am not in such a dire need for a Spinner.

Oh,I knew Gya wasn't going to counter Ttar, but I was curious. I mean, it makes sense. I would like to try out Scarf Gya in the near future. No time soon, but yeah. When you guys were talking about Tauntdos, I started thinking it was obsolete as well.

Anti April 30th, 2008 3:33 PM

I think Tauntrados might be past its prime considering every team is prepared for it and people totally misuse it.

The awesome thing about rock resists is that they're uber-easy to find...any fighter, bulky ground, or steel (besides Skarmory and Forry) will ususally do fine. Tar doesn't carry fire moves very often, but it is usually a good idea to prepare for them. Something like Swampert is good with Tyranitar considering you have forretress to take Crunch.

Really, a lot works. Hitmontop is good, but it seems a bit useless for you outside of that, so maybe something else? I mean, I don't know what you'd use so I can't really make suggestions. But Hitmontop will work.

sims796 April 30th, 2008 3:40 PM

Hava look at page 5 for the updates.

Don't be afraid to suggest, even if they aren't added right away, they are considered.

I'll stay Hitmontop for now, but I'll lose Rapid Spin for, I dunno, Stone Edge? For Gya hurtin. I don't seem to need Spin as much anymore. I'll also give it Mind Reader, in order for Stone Edge to hit.

Spoiler:
How many morons will fall for this?

Anti April 30th, 2008 3:57 PM

Oh that spoiler tag is juicy with win qualities...especially since I fell for it :(

Anyways, Hippowdon is really great at beating CBtar, and Donphan is pretty good. Ground/Water types do decently. The really good ones are fighters, especially bulky ones like Machamp or even Hitmontop.

I wouldn't use Rapid Spin, as it's easily predicted and kinda useless since you can't beat ghosts to save your life with Hitmontop. Bulk Up is cool...fighters always have something interesting to work with.

sims796 April 30th, 2008 4:17 PM

Well, you've been kicked off for a spell, but when you get PC working, I should mention that a Technican Pursuit really hurts ghost types.

As for Hippo, I don't really want Sandstorm on my team, even though it's GONNA happen whether I like it to or not.

Fighters are oddly defensive.

luke April 30th, 2008 4:43 PM

Oh sims. I didn't mean to put you in a foul mood. I was just making an observation, not a criticism. I apologize.

sims796 April 30th, 2008 4:44 PM

No, I'm sorry. A little bit heated from Fish class today. Didn't mean to snap like that.

ABYAY April 30th, 2008 4:49 PM

Hmm...What about Hariyama? It's a decently defensively fighter (Knock Off, Whirlwind, a ton of HP to compensate for lesser defenses), and some pokemon cry when they lose their precious item...NO LIFE ORB FOR YOU! NO LEFTOVERS FOR YOU! NO CHOICE FOR YOU!

It's one of the best T-Tar and Weavile counters you can get your hands on.

sims796 April 30th, 2008 4:52 PM

Along with Top.

I am in the mist of training a Hariyama, although it reminds me of how much weight I lost. 10 Ibs! I need to eat moar.

He has what I like-Whirlwind. I love PHazers.

ABYAY April 30th, 2008 4:59 PM

Well, Payback nails ghosts hard, and some fighting move of your preference (Cross Chop, Brick Break, Close Combat, HP Fighting) Hit the Rocky Reptar and fragile Grendel (Weavile)

Don't use WITH Hitmontop though. lol that'd be rather stupid.

sims796 April 30th, 2008 5:03 PM

Heh, well of course. So I'll go all Knock Off, Whirlwind, Toxic, & Focus Blast, with is superior sp.atk, so good, it can 23HKO a Mewtwo.

ABYAY April 30th, 2008 5:23 PM

lol if it could even do that...I feel like saving that quote.

Anti April 30th, 2008 6:24 PM

I had that line with CB Blissey first, only it was 27HKOing Garchomp >:0 Actually it's a 3HKO, anyways...

Hariyama's defenses...I'm not fond of pokemon with the high HP / low Defenses stat arrangement, since they never seem to work too well, so I would say Hitmontop, but meh >.> Either way, you should be fine though.

sims796 April 30th, 2008 6:28 PM

I had actually ran calcs. It was more or less 23 XP

Well, I didn't make the Yama, so Top it is!

Is there any Wishpasser, or especially SD passer who can stand up to Ttar? Other than Gliscor.

Uuuuuuuummmmmmmmm Scizor? It should be fine, avoiding Flamethrower Boah.

ABYAY June 21st, 2008 7:21 PM

The only thing I dare think of that could come remotely close to passing Wish and Swords Dance, as well as taking on Tyranitar to an extent, is Leafeon, and that's barring Ice Beam AND Flamethrower. However, it threatens with STAB high attack Leaf Blade, so I guess you could consider it.
