My Bug-Type/Egg Group Themed Team, Final Version

Drapion @ Black Sludge
Impish
Battle Armor
252 HP, 6 ATT, 252 DEF
Crunch
Toxic Spikes
Knock Off
WhirlWind

Flygon @ Lefties
Hasty
252 HP/252 ATT/ 6 SDEF
Earthquake
Roost
Fire Blast
Dragon Claw

Yanmega @ Life Orb
Modest
Speed Boost
56 HP/252 SATT/200Spd
Hypnosis
Protect
Bug Buzz
Air Slash

Pinsir @ Expert Belt
Adamant
6 HP/252 ATT/252 SPD
Moldbreaker
X-Scissor
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Swords Dance

Forretress @ Shed Shell
Relaxed Nature
252 HP / 16 ATT / 240 DEF
Gyro Ball
Explosion
Spikes
Rapid Spin

Ledian @ Leftovers
252 HP / 252 SP.DEF / 6 SP.ATT
Calm nature
Light Screen
Bug Buzz
U turn
Roost

Notes: IMO, Only 3 non-Bug Types should ever be allowed on Bug teams due to their Egg Grouping: Drapion, Flygon, and Gliscor.
Flygon Resists SR and Fire Attacks, both of which would Pulverize my team, while Drapion is in there because, like Flygon, It doesn't share any of the Bug Type's weaknesses. I could've used Gliscor, but decided not to in the end.

My only pet peeve is that I have 2 Bug/Flying types(making me have 2 Pokemon 4x weak to SR), But Ledia in one of the only Bug Types with Good Special Defense, besides Wormadam Leaf Cloak, but why would I use that? 2 4x Weaknesses is NOT cool.

Night slash is best used with sniper. crunch is more reliable. Good set otherwise

Flygon @ Lefties
Jolly
252 HP/252 ATT/ 6 SDEF
Earthquake
Roost
U-Turn
Dragon Claw
Woo a set i created is actually getting used :D seeing as i made it i hae no complaints lol

Yanmega @ Life Orb
Modest
Speed Boost
56 HP/252 SATT/200Spd
Hypnosis
Protect
Bug Buzz/HP fire
Air Slash/HP fire
Protect+Speed boost=Outspeeds most stuff, so you can afford to bulk it up slightly. Especially when you're using a move with such bad accuracy

Pinsir @ Expert Belt
Adamant
6 HP/252 ATT/252 SPD
Moldbreaker
X-Scissor
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Swords Dance
I personally prefer hera, but this looks ok.

Forretress @ Lefties
Relaxed Nature
252 HP / 16 ATT / 240 DEF
Gyro Ball
Explosion
Spikes
Rapid Spin
Special defence EVs arent going to be much help, you dont wanna be staying in on any special attacks anyway. Forry NEEDS lefties, and magnezone isnt that common anymore.
Ledian @ Leftovers
252 HP / 252 SP.DEF / 6 SP.ATT
Calm nature
Light Screen
Bug Buzz
Knock Off/U turn
Roost
Looks ok, vespiqueen would be a better option IMO but whatever. If walls have a recovery move they should really be using them. You already have a poke with knock off, you dont really need a second

This is definately better than the team it started as. Unfortunately 4x rock weakneeses are unavoidable on bug teams, so its important that forry stays alive to get rid of SR. I can see this team having skarmory problems, seeing as brave bird kills off bugs like nobody's business, so HP fire from yanmega will sting it. But the Specsmence weak isnt to prevelant anymore, so its looking up :)

It's really hard getting ahold of a Mitsuhoney with both Good stats/Nature AND be Female... so I'll stick with Ledian

Would putting Fire Blast on Flygon anywhere help with Skarm(Thoug I can't see any move it can work without...).

If not, Then I'll keep breeding >.<;

Which is more important on Yanmega, Air Slash or Bug Buzz?

Both, if you dont run both, its becomes a "Yanfail"

Aire Slash/Bug Buzz/Protect/Hypnosis or Insert Hidden power Ice/Ground in last slot.

Hmmm... In that case, what can I do about Skarm?

Also, are the other movesets okay?

El Gofre March 16th, 2008 2:48 PM

Normally I'd agree with DA, but a non-standard team calls for a non-standard set. Yanmega is your best hope at countering skarm, I'd fit HP fre in, keeping BB for STAB

Okay, I'll breed to get HP Fire/Electric on a Yanmega.

And I'm sticking with the defensive Flygon.

Could any of its moves be replaced with Fire Blast?

U-Turn.

In that case, I'll keep the Yanmega set I already have.

Would a different nature be needed for Flygon to run FB?

Steel walls, Skarmory, Forry and stuff, who tend to have worse sp.def, but Fire Punch would be ok to damage Bronzong and Celebi and stuff more.

I guess that's true, but who uses Skarm anymore anyway

Dunsparce March 17th, 2008 12:11 PM

I'm more worried about Skarm.

Besides, Pinsir can use Moldbreaker Earthquake on 'Zong =)

Pm one of the Mods instead instead of complaining hee (ONLY if either are online). If they aren't online, then be patient and stfu about it in this thread. >.<;

luke March 17th, 2008 1:17 PM

DON'T PM ME. >:[ And I don't see your thread anywhere.

I have a plethora of good IV'd Vespiquen I could of given you. Using Ledian is a terrible idea. :<
