Night Slash
Pursuit/Swords Dance

This is fine.Ice Punch and Swords Dance are only for a Focus Sash one while Life Orb is for your original set like Choice Band.

Yanmega @ Focus sash/ expert belt
Modest: 252 sp Atk, 252 spd, 6 HP
Protect
Bug Buzz
Air Slash
HP ground/HP Ice

HP Ice slaughters the 4X Ice weak Dragon Types so consider that over HP Ground.

Metagross @ leftovers/shuca berry
Adamant: 152 HP / 252 Atk / 104 Spd
Agility
Meteor Mash
thunder punch/Explosion
EQ

You could use Explosion as a last resort move when it's almost dead to kill Blissey or something.

Tentacruel @ leftovers
Liquid ooze
Calm: 204 HP / 96 Sp Atk / 172 Sp Def / 36 Spd
Surf
Ice Beam/Sludge Bomb
Rapid Spin
Toxic Spikes

Consider Sludge Bomb for STAB.

Miltank @ leftovers
Scrappy
Impish: 252 HP / 224 Def / 32 Spd
Body Slam
EQ
Heal Bell
Milk Drink

Pretty good but you should use Scrappy to hit Ghost Types with a strong physical move.

Cresselia @ leftovers
Bold: 252 HP / 108 Def / 148 SpD
Ice Beam
Psychic/Charge Beam
Sleep Talk
Rest

It doesn't really need Grass Knot/Energy Ball because Ice Beam is stronger and it can't really hit anything hard with Energy Ball besides Swampert. Also,Moonlight is a no-no becuase Tyranitar and Hippowdon are common and their weather makes Moonlight's recovery very weak.Charge Beam is there if you want to attack and raise your Special Attack.

Overall, this team is decent but I would say it's overly offensive in such a way that a wall becomes a mini-sweeper.

k

Yanmega @ Focus sash/ expert belt
Modest: 252 sp Atk, 252 spd, 6 HP
Hypnosis
Bug Buzz
Air Slash
HP ground

Hypnosis outperforms Protect. really, it's extremely predictable and when Yanmega comes in, the opponent will probably be switching out anyways and Hypnosis buys you an extra turn.

Metagross @ Choice Band / Life Orb
Adamant: 152 HP / 252 Atk / 104 Spd
Explosion
Meteor Mash
thunder punch
EQ

Agiligross just isn't good. You agility, they send in their counter, you switch. That doesn't really accomplish much. CBgross can hit most of its counters pretty hard before going down, easily putting them in revenge kill range if you keep Gross in.

Tentacruel @ leftovers
Liquid ooze
Calm: 204 HP / 96 Sp Atk / 172 Sp Def / 36 Spd
Surf
Ice Beam
Rapid Spin
Toxic Spikes/ mirror coat

I'm not PC's Tenta authority :P

Miltank @ leftovers
Thick Fat
Impish: 252 HP / 224 Def / 32 Spd
Body Slam
EQ
Heal Bell
Milk Drink

Eh, sure.

Cresselia @ leftovers
Bold: 252 HP / 108 Def / 148 SpD
Calm Mind
Psychic
grass knot/energy ball
Rest

SDef EVs with CM seems pretty useless if you ask me. Also I would avoid using two attack types that are walled by steels. If you run that set, Celebi will do it A LOT better with STAB on both attacks and a better way to recover.

As far as weaknesses, Tyranitar is the most obvious and physical Infernape will 6-0 you if it doesn't die from recoil stuff. Gyarados that possess Earthquake will also walk all over this team and Cress can't really hurt it enough. Heatran and Azelf are also really big problems.

Honestly the big problem I see is that the walling isn't strong enough. You don't have one true physical wall or special wall, which really hurts you. You could call Tenta a special wall, but it still can be taken by almost all common special sweepers, so meh.

BrainDamage March 21st, 2008 8:29 PM

true, i can replace cressy with celebi cause i've seen A LOT of swampert lately and energy ball on cressy did a number on donphan too, which is why I had energy ball in the first place, to take out wall water and/or ground types since i lacked a grass move on anyone else, and with celebi, i can replace miltank with a more proper physical wall, and swampert actually comes to mind. ill check it out. I realize that this team was more on the offensive, but cresselia's goal here was pretty much swampert/donphan/hippowdon counter with levitate and all and be a mixed wall. I know moonlight has some issues, but i hate having rest leaving me useless for two turns, and i'd have to switch out and lose the CM boost if T-Tar comes in after i rest instead of me being able to KO with CM'd energy ball. Also, Metagross can take some hits and resist a lot of attacks. The point of protect on yanmega (Although im sure you know this) is to get a free speed boost and afterward be able to outspeed almost everything, then attack and KO

Well Celebi counters bulky grounds and most waters anyways and can provide cleric support, so it could be a 2 for 1 kind of deal.

yeah, that's what I was saying, so then i can scrap miltank and replace him with a better physical wall.
Tentacruel counters any infernape for the most part unless it's carrying thunder punch.
whoever i decide to replace miltank with (perhaps swampert) and swampert counters the physical Ape quite nicely and if with stone edge, will make Gya cry
Yanmega who hopefully wont be dead when azelf and heatran come out, should be made short work of by yanmega's bug buzz and HP ground repectively (although only via revenge kill)

If you want a better physical wall,Skarmory could work.Skarmory could damage the opponent with spikes/stealth rock.Swampert is good but Skarmory has an instant recovery move instead of Rest.I would say keep Protect on Yanmega so that it can be faster then basically anything.I got swept by a Yanmega once thanks to Protect giving it speed so you know how good it is.

El Gofre March 22nd, 2008 8:32 AM

Cant stop for a full rate, but HP fire on Yanmega, or steels like skarmory and Zomg are gonna laugh at you

Will rate fully later :)

Dunsparce March 22nd, 2008 8:49 AM

Replace Miltank with Skarmory.

[email protected] Shell
Impish
Brave Bird
Roost
Spikes
Whirlwind

Dootakun(Bronzong), Steelix, and Forretress are good Pokemon with high Defense, too.

EDIT: Heh, all Steel-Types.

BrainDamage March 22nd, 2008 9:43 AM

If I use skar, then i have 3 boltbeam weak and one who is 2HKO by boltbeam, and weavile who cant take a hit to save his ass

however, i could use forry, with him with rapid spin, i can use a better sponge over tenta. but then that adds to the Ape/heatran weakness. so steel might not work too well

You could use Regirock or Registeel or Dusknoir as physical walls or Dusknoir as a mixed wall they're all not weak to BoltBeam either.

Dark Azelf March 22nd, 2008 10:31 AM

You really need a special wall or your gonna get raped by sp. sweepers, Snorlax, Blissey etc. or something else should suffice.

That Celebi set is ewww.
