i dont know about other people, but i would have liked to see team galactic continue on in the story line after the spear piller incident. like team rocket in the series, they dont disappear after one failed attempt. dont ask me how they'd play a bigger part, i just think it'd be fun to see them later on.

actually it did end on a kind of flat note its a shame pokemon game storylines are so short to be honest they should last longer shouldnt they

paperfunk March 24th, 2008 2:40 PM

it'd give the game more playing time before real completion. although, i need one more star on my trainer card with 336 hours :P but ur right, i'd like to see pokemon story lines go on longer.

another thing if they make a new pokemon game is they could do something like you can choose if you wanna be bad or good i mean it probally wont happen but it could reflect upon what moves pokemon learn how they like u etc and you can join team whoever and get cash and rewards and they could send pokemon updates through wifi i think that would be cool but probally wont happen

paperfunk March 24th, 2008 2:50 PM

it'd pull the pokemon series in a COMPLETELY different direction. pokemon is about training up your pokemon to be strong and be friends with them. making it about money and making pokemon seem like objectives for some "get rich quick" scheme might not appeal to younger kids who hae grown attached to the series' moral (if you will). but the updates over wifi might work.

not only younger kids play it though lots of people are like 10+ but the update of wifi like xbox live would be cool i think if the storyline continued after the game it would give it a bit more meaning wouldnt it like wen u complete it then the only thing you can do is complete battle tower contest and catch em all which gets a bit boring however i enjoy breeding ive hatched 5k+ eggs i would like if you could crossbreed lol imagine tom sends out herachu and stuff but it would make pokemon too confusing i think

paperfunk March 24th, 2008 3:01 PM

their would be like (a rough estimate) a quadrillion different pokemon (unless anyone can do 493 to the 493rd power off the top of their head :p)

Bejesus March 24th, 2008 3:01 PM

Make it so you can use the touch screen to move pokemon while in the PC Box, this seems an absolute no brainer to me.

Just for the sake of a second idea, ability to have online battles and stuff with random people (no friend codes) which i don't think we have at the mo'.

Amp March 24th, 2008 3:02 PM

I think in general what you guys are saying is that the story needs to be deeper, some kind of way. Not a bad idea.

I think they need to dial back all the excess and focus on making the core game better. After Gold and Silver, the team only made relatively minor changes to the game at its core, and busied themselves on auxilary features like contests, wifi silliness, and touch screen diversions that nobody really uses. Nintendo needs to reign in their creative minds and get the core game and mechanics working and improved before they move on to all of that.

As an example, would you rather have pointless ball capsules or new and interesting Pokeballs? Would you rather scratch your head looking at those silly Super Contests, or see more detailed Pokemon animations? Would you rather have a broken, functionally useless GTS system, or see Nintendo use the wifi for something interesting, like self-updating enemy trainers, patch downloads, or something tha we can't even imagine?

how far away is he from the us? where i am its six at night, and im in central time.

anyway, yeah contests wern't that important to me. yeah, i competed in them, but i didnt enjoy them that much. they do need to think of more ideas, not just fine tune the ones we already have.

POKEMASTERALEX March 24th, 2008 5:54 PM

To have put in the Old Man in Emerald that hints at your pokemon's IVs. I still breed hoenn and before pokemon in Emerald with a few exceptions, so I can easily chekc their IVs

♣Gawain♣ March 24th, 2008 6:09 PM

The only thing that needs improvement right now is animated sprites of pokemons... Plus I've kinda restarted my diamond 2 times, and I still haven't got bored.

Hadim Sinan Pasha March 24th, 2008 7:45 PM

They could make something where you could catch all 500+ pokemon(which it will be this amount if it goes on like this with 100 released in each area) in 1 game. Or they could make a game where you can visit all the regions. This would be better because Pal Park sort of ruins it for trading from GBA slot in the DS to trading to your D/P. Also, is it 100% catch rate or does it take a couple of Ultra Balls or maybe even a master ball to catch the pokemon again. I haven't got Diamond yet so ye, I only know what my friend knows(he has the game). How does Pal Park work BTW. I know it's off-topic but if I know more about, I can judge it better. I know about transferring the PKMN but nothing much after that.

NytewolfAU2k7 March 25th, 2008 12:20 AM

Everything that's already been said, plus removing the reliance on having to go to events to get certain Pokemon -> Still haven't got Deoxys, Ho-Oh or Lugia for Leaf Green in Australia, No events have been made >.> Okay sure, I could get Ho-Oh and Lugia via spin-off games, but I'm not buying them, end of story.

Murasaki March 25th, 2008 1:05 AM

Personally, I'm tired of the same old formula of beating all 8 gym leaders to take on the elite four... blah blah blah. What if you don't want to be the Champion? What if you want to be the greatest breeder? Or a Pokemon Professor? Or just want to specialise in contests? (I don't really like contests but... meh). What if you want to join Team Rocket?

There needs to be more to Pokemon than just... beat the elite four (I know, with the introduction of online battles there's a LOT more to do, I'm just talking about in-game here). It's just not that interesting anymore.

In my opinion, Pokemon *needs* to be an MMO. You'd create your own trainer (customizable... but better than PBR) and through quests etc. you would determine your path/career in the Pokemon world... rather than everyone just aiming for the elite four. Sure, you can do that if you want, but I think it would be pretty neat to do all the other things that have been portrayed in Pokemon.

devmonster March 25th, 2008 2:37 AM

i guess a longer, deeper storyline. I really liked the story in Pokemon G/S/C, where Team Rocket persists throughout the game. well, almost throughout. i remember thinking that i'm about to finish Crystal when Team Rocket invaded the Radio Tower. that's a nice twist, and an added length to the story.

I also want to see better battle scene. why don't they create animations for pokemon in the entire duration of the battle, not just when they enter. they can just create looping animation, not just static. like for example, a ponyta will have a flaming body animation throughout the battle.

and yes, to repeat something, better PC functionality. why don't they use the touch screen to move pokemon between boxes?

and i really miss the cool color-coded animation of stat-reducing or -enhancing moves, like Tail Whip. They had that in R/S/E, where a move like Tail Whip will show downward green arrows moving quickly over the pokemon. it's green, so you know it lowered its defense. red, you'll know its attack. etc. on D/P, they only have Blue when lowered, and yellowish when raised.

I guess random whether effects would have been nice, too. it gives you more reason to play the game everytime because you'll never know what the whether would be. a hot sunny day, or rainy days, or even snowy days may give you a reason to play (or not if it's snowing. i hate that)

and lastly, if you beat the game for the first time, you can challenge all the gyms with the gym leaders having stronger pokemon. that way you will still have some reason to play, even though the mian story is over.

yh aswell as dressing your pokemon up maybe you have to dress your trainer up and you have to go to pokemon centers to rest at certain times and feed you and your pokemon food.the food shouldnt be expensive but like 50pokedollars and stuff. But everyone here has mentioned that all you do is beat u gyms beat E4 and gotta catch em all i wanna do something more than that!

i would also like the weather systems back in play and when it snows you can send your pokemon out and let them play in the snow. you should also be able to buy a home and build it more and they should put all the regions back in like kanto, johto , hoenn , sinnoh and you can buy house in each of those regions it would be a real step up from pokemon rather than adding in little divertions such as poketech IMO the pokeradar was a good add on but i prefer the pokegear in the pokemon ruby sapphire emerald

Mitchman March 25th, 2008 7:43 AM

It need not only depth in the story but a good ploy. Can't wait to see what they do in opal to make it ___________ that much better

pokemon opal is a faked name for the game isnt it?and what do you mean by but a good ploy?

smile! March 25th, 2008 8:13 AM

They could have designed Magmortar better :P
Surf speed...is...horrible.
The storyline, as everyone else said, should really be longer.
And about the trio. It's the first time they make them have the same type.
It's not that bad, just...

kingcold March 25th, 2008 8:15 AM

i have 800 hours on that game it should continue on i would have let the game spill onto the other regions

Eruption March 25th, 2008 8:17 AM

Some of the pokemon could be better mainly Magmortar and Carnivine with their six year old designs.

Azelf, Mesprit and Uxie are all copies of each other and just one of them would be of a copy of Mew/Celebi. Too many copies...

Also the GTS' options are ridiculous, you cant offer anything but what the person wants and, you can only search for pokemon you have in your pokedex besides the fact that everyone only wants Dialga and Palkia.

`Gray March 25th, 2008 8:17 AM

Stoyline could've been longer.
Storyline could've spanded onto other regions.
