There's really more to it than that. Fortunately, it's all covered in the stickies.

:o thank u man for the link

sorry for teh double posting

so for example:

i kill a bidoof, he will gimme 1 EV point

if i kill another different pokemon, the point that i win from bidoof will dissapear?

ad i did not understand this pretty good

*Well, there are some guidelines you should follow. Remember how you need 4 EVs to raise a stat? Well, 255 is not divisible by 4. So that means some of the EVs have no use! That’s correct. You should only get the maximum of 252 EVs in a stat. Be sure that the number of EV points you give to a stat is ALWAYS divisible by 4.*

can someone explain me better that?

No, that point stays forever (unless you use an EV reducing berry).

As for your second question; You can have a maximum of 255 EVs in a single stat. Every four EVs gains you an extra stat point. So, you can get a maximum of 252 EVs- since 255 isn't divisible by four, those 3 extra EVs spent won't affect your stats.

Basically, just EV train to 252, and not 255. Of course, since this is a difference of a single stat point, it's not a big deal, and you can forget about it if you want.

o ok thx

and anotehr last quaetion lol bout IV

how can i see the IV from the stat?

and let me see, for example

if a mother gastly and a father gastly have the same IV number in attack and hp and they are breeding.

there is a chance that the baby pokemon have the same number of attack and hp that the mother and father?

Just take your time and read about it, don't try to get it all now in just a few minutes :) there are good sources out there to understand the whole mechanism. I actually have collected and printed out a 30-page guide on EV and IV training, just to get it all right.

There are guides everywhere and this should be in Strategies & Movesets anyway.
