It's a bird, It's a plane, It's a... Jet Shark?

http://th213.photobucket.com/albums/cc186/Allie_Loves_JB/th_DevilGarchomp.png RAWRRRR! XD.

For those of you who don't know, It's pokedex entry is:

Diamond: When it folds up its body and extends its wings, it looks like a jet plane. It flies at sonic speed.

Pearl: It flies at speeds equal to a jet fighter plane. It never allows its prey to escape.

Gaburaisu @ Choice Specs (Oh noez!) ** I IZ FLYING! I IZ AWESOMEZ!
Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 6 HP
Modest / Timid Nature (Debating.)
- Dragon Pulse
- Draco Meteor
- HP [GRASS]
- Flamethrower. Note: No flying sharks were harmed in the making of this post.

Not much of a special move pool to work with, but this is basically a copy of Specsmence, w/o the Hydro Pump. :/

All comments are appreciated. Meh. Base 80 SpA is average, thank god Choice Specs. XD.

Funke March 28th, 2008 6:18 AM

Well, I'd say pick one. Either Dragon Pulse or Meteor. And Put in Earthquake or Brick Break. You have
nothing on Blissey.

Anti March 28th, 2008 9:37 AM

With only 80 base SAtk it should be obvious which nature to use ;)

It would be better if the nickname didn't suck as much. Otherwise, just...watch as Garchomp gets walled by Blissey >.> Honestly base 80 is too weak, especially looking at what else Garchomp can do.

Funke March 28th, 2008 9:39 AM

Also, Instead of Cspecs go life orb. Once again, Blissey and Other Special Walls will force you to switch.

Anti March 28th, 2008 9:55 AM

Well that's a given, my beef is that just a lot of things in general will wall this to high heavens. It's just a worse SpecsMence pretty much. One advantage is that Hippowdon and friends will not like Draco Meteor so much. Still...

Funke March 28th, 2008 9:59 AM

I agree. My MixChomp is in the RMT-Hurricane in Miami thread but it's specs are:

Garchomp @ Life Orb
Sand Veil
Naive 252 Atk/ 252 SpAtk/ 4 Spe
Surf
Fire Blast
Dragon Claw
Earthquake

Arcknight316 March 28th, 2008 10:26 AM

It doesn't have Hydro Pump but you could give it Surf O_o

I know, but there's basically nowhere to fit it in. And why I don't get a compliment for goodness sake, instead of just bad things? Also, now I am putting rules on this thing man. Seriously, out of the good ratings I got more useless comments.

Thanks for being a n00b. Now go away. On a special set? Seriously, dude. You know nothing about competitive. And besides, guys, why would I keep it on a Blissey. Anti, I thought you were one one of the best raters, do you seriously think I'm going to keep in on Blissty, like said before? And do you think I care if my name sucks? Also, one time, you told me to make the names better. And if I do called a newb just for having a bad nickname, those people should just shut the **** up and go to hell, man.

Meh. Also, if you had any clue what Specsmence is, you wouldn't be making comments like this. Go get Netbattle. and/or Shoddy Battle. and learn competitive please.

Anti, seriously, Choice Specs says hello. Modest nature says hello. Pretty much everything says hello. Also, It's a GIMMICK SET.

Also, switching is part of competitive battling, Funke.

Nightfall, I know you and Anti are good raters, but you're probably the only whose comment I respect in this Thread, as it actually helped, unlike one of the better rates, like Anti.

BeachBoy March 28th, 2008 11:40 AM

The thing about Garchomp is it's so destructive on the physical side that it barely can get counterd as physical, with the right set ups, yaydayada. I mean the thing is even in consideration of uber discussion.

With this set numerous Pokemon wall it unfortunately.

I love the gimmicky idea. but Salamence just does it better really. This set doesnt seem to have enough Ooomph for a great surprise in my opinion.

I'd like to still see some damage cals on it though.

Arcknight316 March 28th, 2008 12:18 PM

I know this is a gimmick set, but the only thing Chomp has going for it on a Specs Set is Draco Meteor (even on MixChomp it hurts lol), but other attacks won't do much (except Flamethrower on a Forry lol).

You might want Fire Blast over Flamethrower. Really, even with Specs, Flamethrower won't hurt that much.

This would make a good Steel Physical Wall killer, though. You send it in on something like a Blissey, then you Flamethrower as they switch into a Skarm/etc. And you have brute power with Draco Meteor, although, obviously, Mence runs it better.

sims796 March 28th, 2008 12:23 PM

Listen, grow up. Gimmick or not, this set is an epic fail. They discribed why, and throwing a tantrum only makes YOU look bad. Some gimmick sets work, others are a massive waste of time to look at. This is the latter. The fact that this set is walled so much easier, and that a GARCHOMP is walled by BLISSEY only shows how much of a fail this is. If you only posted so that people will agree with you, then you posted this in the wrong forum.

Funke may not be the best, but he is certainly not a noob. The massive difference between this & SpecsMence is the fact that Specsmence has the power to pull this off. You'll surpise people, lbut once they get over the shock, it is walled so much easier.

Arcknight316 March 28th, 2008 12:46 PM

You could use it to defeat Skarms and Forrys, but that's about all.

sims796 March 28th, 2008 12:47 PM

Skarm & Forry wouldn't stay in on Chomp, for fear of Fire Blast/Fang. All it has is suprise, and once that is over, (as in exposed when you have to switch) it's a wasted Chomp.

Yes, but they would certainly switch in. That's when you would make your move.

sims796 March 28th, 2008 12:54 PM

The exact same thing could be said about any other version. And if they switch into the wrong move (the right move for them), you are STILL forced to switch.

Anti March 28th, 2008 1:07 PM

This thread is officially pathetic.

I'll go ahead and counter every part of your argument now.

I never said anything about keeping Garchomp in on a Blissey lol, I said it walls it. Big difference :/

Also, I'm going to defend the others who you unfairly blew up on. I love how you call somebody a noob when you're posting Specs Garchomp and expecting us to not criticize it.

You just...really disappointed me Itachi :/ I thought that ban would have taught you something.

EDIT: It really isn't fair. On one hand you say "It's a gimmick set!" and on the other hand you're expecting people to think it's good and praise you. The reason I brought up the nickname was because it's okay to have some laughs, but this isn't funny and you're freaking out. Sheesh.

Dark Azelf March 28th, 2008 1:38 PM

I remember posting a set like this, however you may want to use Hidden power Ground or Empoleon walls you aswell =X

Syaoran March 28th, 2008 1:41 PM

Salamence does this a lot better. =\

And If your only reason for using him is the typing, I believe even Flygon would do a better job with resisting EQ and having access to U-turn.

Arcknight316 March 29th, 2008 11:39 AM

OK, we all know that his SpecsChomp suxx0rs, but, if he wants to use it, then let's work with it.

I don't think the thread starter is really going to change the set. There's nothing we can do with this anyways, Itachi said himself it's just a gimmick set and there's nothing we really can do with it without getting yelled at.

sims796 March 29th, 2008 11:45 AM

What's to work with? He hasn't got anything to fight against his enemies, (a suggestion was given, like EQ or Brick Break, a good suggestion), and he is walled too easily from a base 80 SP.ATK to be a major threat. It is also easy to counter, since it is Specs. Dragging up useless pros about this set is useless, as the cons are too great. Skar and Zong wouldn't dare come in on Chomp, for fear of Fire Fang/Blast. And being stuck to one move does you no favor.

^Pretty much what I was trying to say with better wording.

You can't do much with 80 base SAtk. Dugtrio can with its 80 base Atk, but it has a STAB Earthquake and Arena Trap, not to mention blazing speed.

Sora_8920 March 29th, 2008 12:01 PM

If Blueberry / Smarties thinks this has to be closed, then they can do so.

luke March 29th, 2008 12:10 PM

Might as well. This thread serves no purpose anyway.

BeachBoy November 27th, 2009 6:28 PM

The S&M staff have decided to revive this thread, as it shall promote S&M activity.
